I love Orthodontics! I enjoy the challenge of unraveling a complicated dentition to produce the most beautiful smile. The most compelling part of it all is seeing the transformation in personalities as the smiles improve. Often, especially with younger patients, as the smile transforms, you can see their eyes brighten and their chins rise a little higher. You can literally see confidence thriving.
Dr. Smith is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Miami-Dade County Dental Society, the Broward County Dental Society, the Howard University Orthodontics Alumni Association and the University of Florida Alumni Association.
Dr. Smith stays involved with his church and Adonai Partners where he served as a missionary for a summer in Uganda. Adonai Partners is a non-profit mission and development group that primarily volunteers in African countries. He also volunteers with Give Kids a Smile and Meals on Wheels.
Away from the practice, Dr. Smith enjoys practicing karate, playing guitar, listening to music, reading, various outdoor activities, traveling and volunteering. He also spends time caring for his retired parents in West Palm Beach.
I very much appreciated my experience with Dr. Smith yesterday! I have very low tolerance to pain but at SLS they took such good care of me. Dr. Smith was very patient and gentle, I could tell he cares about how I feel and he knows what he is doing and enjoys his work.

I absolutely couldn't ask for a better office or a better orthodontist to handle my care. From the first time I walked into this office, I felt like family and was treated with the utmost respect.

I highly recommend Dr. Smith to anyone interested in orthodontic treatment. For a brief overview, my teeth were severely misaligned and crowded (my midline was completely shifted one tooth over). My family couldn't afford braces when I was growing up, so I developed new facial expressions and movements that prevented anyone from noticing my teeth. I am 18 and working, so I decided to fix my teeth. I went to a multitude of orthodontists in Broward County. Two recommended reconstructive jaw surgery for my case. Another recommended Invisalign only (this would not have helped my complex case). I felt hopeless, disgusting, and hideous after a previous orthodontist completely disregarded my case unless I got jaw surgery (for which I do not have the funds). She made me feel like I had a horrible facial deformity that would render my ability to live. I felt like a monster and cried for a few days until my aunt found an advertisement for SLS Orthodontics. I had no hope at first; it felt like nobody could fix my teeth. I was utterly transfixed and relieved when I came in for my consultation. Before the consultation, my aunt told Penny, the fantastic office manager, that jaw surgery was not an option we would go through because of the complications associated with it and our limited funds. She was accommodating, comprehensive, and kind. I saw Dr. Smith, and it was apparent he was intelligent. He has a chemical engineering background and reassured me that he would help me; he explained the steps necessary to receive such results (premolar extractions) and why they were required. Currently, it's been less than a month since my first tightening, and I have already noticed rapid movement. I looked in the mirror today, and my jaw dropped. Dr. Smith and his team genuinely astonish me not only with their swift application of wires and brackets but with their ability to change lives truly. I am beyond thankful for this team, and I struggle with insecurities, but they never once treated me like a monster with a horrible facial deformity. Dr. Smith acknowledged my uneven jaw but stated, "the vast majority of the population will fail to notice this." To summarize, Dr. Smith and his team are a blessing to anyone with insecurities. He is analytical and willing to explain the entire process and every step involved with your treatment. I have severe trust issues, yet I am beyond thankful I chose this place.

The best Orthodontist ever! This place makes you feel like family from day 1. I just got my braces off and can say I had the best experience ever. Dr. Smith is the man! Excellent customer service as well. The office manager Penny helped me throughout my entire process.

I have been seeing Dr. Smith for about two years and have enjoyed my braces experience so much. He is kind, knowledgeable and has informed me of the progress and steps at every point of my treatment. The office staff and orthodontic assistants have all been so kind and remember me with each visit as well so it provides a very welcoming environment.

I love it here. I started my braces journey here and i wouldn't have wanted to do this journey with any one else.I love my braces i have been here for over a year now and the staff are always happy and smiling . I always schedule a morning visit so i can start my day with their positivity. I definitely recommend you won't be disappointed!

Found this place online and needed to repair a fixed retainer that cracked suddenly. Such a hospitable team! When I first arrived for my free consultation, I was given a tour of the office and introduced to the staff and everyone was friendly and easy going. They listened to my concerns and offered a solution at a VERY affordable price considering I do not have insurance. The team went above and beyond to schedule me ASAP and assist me in achieving my complete smile again! Shout out to Lauren for all your help and for being so polite and patient every step of the way!

I love everything about this place, the staff is wonderful, from the moment you entered you feel welcomed and valued. My daughter absolutely loves to smile now something I couldn't get her to do prior to coming here. On another note the orthodontist is fine and single so either way it's a win.

Call I've been coming to SLS Orthodontist for about three months now. The staff is amazing! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. It feels like my second family. I've seen so much progress with my adjustments and I cannot wait until my end results.

Every month that I go to my orthodontist he explains everything to me about my braces journey... my favorite part is choosing the color of my elastics! The staff is always friendly and nice! I love this place!
