Sleep Easy Dentistry - General dentist in San Antonio, TX

Obstructive Sleep Apnea or 'OSA' is the more severe sleep breathing disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. It is often, but not always, associated with snoring. Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome or 'UARS' is the less severe sleep breathing disorder where the constriction of the airway disrupts the quality of sleep too. Both OSA and UARS are potentially chronic, long-lasting medical conditions that can affect your sleep, health and quality of life. Snoring is the sound emitted from the upper airway of your throat during sleep and comes from loose, relaxed tissues that vibrate while breathing. The sound emitted may come from the soft palate, tongue or both. Snoring is an indication that there is resistance through the airway, but may not be affecting the sleep of the snorer. The sound intensity varies from person to person and may be affecting the sleep of a bed partner. Snoring may be indicative of OSA and is often the precursor to developing it later in life. A sleep study is needed to make that determination.

Sleep Apnea is a medical condition that is diagnosed by a Board Certified Doctor of Sleep Medicine. Sleep Easy works with some of the top Sleep Doctor's in the country. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has created educational videos which can help you understand the basics of a sleep study as well as what to expect when you have a sleep study performed.

At Sleep Easy Dentistry, we understand that Sleep Apnea not only affects your sleep, but can cause serious health concerns if not treated correctly and promptly. We have a RegisteredNurse on our staff whounderstands respiratory and systemic implications of sleep breathing disorders. Our desire is to work together with your physician to ensure that you are receiving optimal treatment for sleep apnea. Getting a good nights sleep is the first step to healing your entire body and itmight be easier than you think.

!! A huge round of applause goes to Abish. This young lady is so incredibly patient and, knowledgeable. I am truly amazed at her work ethic she's very thorough and honest. I am truly astonish at how she handles patients with so much empathy and understanding. That is so needed especially with these kind of diagnosis. She is very knowledgeable and able to articulate herself and explains things in a very professional manner. I hope the company really rewards her it is so well deserved. I definitely will keep coming here. She's very welcoming and makes me feel my health is first priority. Thank you to all the staff members on the dental side as well. As for myself whom works in the medical field it is very hard to find stable professional hard-working people like Abish!! God bless

I've been a patient for several years and I am very pleased with my ProSomnus oral appliance to treat my sleep apnea. My oxygen was getting down into the 70's while sleeping before and now it barely drops at all. The appliance was just as effective as a CPAP during my sleep study, but is much less of a hassle. I don't really even notice it now while sleeping and it is very easy to travel with. Dr. Osborne was also very helpful and patient with making the necessary adjustments when I first got the appliance to ensure that it was effective and comfortable. I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a sleep apnea treatment that is not a CPAP!

I absolutely love this place and am so glad I came here for my TMJ. I was referred to other clinics and found out about other conditions such as sleep apnea! Now I've been using the appliance and my sleep has been better and my TMJ issues are also so much better! I'm barely ever in pain anymore and am so satisfied. The staff is always amazing and friendly, I always feel so welcome.

I am still in shock! After talking with several dentist offices around town, I didn't think I would ever be able to afford a solution for my sleep apnea. When I discovered Sleep Easy Dentistry I found: -Better prices /payment plan option -Wider selection of mouth appliances -a more comprehensive exam -and people that sincerely care They went to bat for me with my insurance company. When that didn't work they found a payment option that fits my budget. No one does that anymore! This place has been an answer to my prayers!

I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea but just couldn't tolerate the CPAP machine many people use. The mask and tubes just weren't for me. So my specialist suggested I get outfitted for a mouth guard that will help keep my air passage open while I sleep. Turns out these simple oral appliances are available from only a handful of specially certified dentists. I am glad I chose Dr Osbourne at Sleep Easy Dentistry. I initially spoke with a provider who offered only one model, but Dr Osbourne had dozens to choose from and took the time to select the best option for the way I sleep and breathe. His staff took a digital scan of my mouth and a few weeks later I was outfitted with a customized plastic guard that has made a surprising difference. I sleep better and wake up refreshed without headaches. They've had me back for a few follow-up adjustments and continue to monitor my progress. I've been really impressed with the level of care at every step of the process and would recommend this office to anyone looking to find an alternative to cumbersome CPAP machines.

I am so happy that I went to see Ruben at Sleep Easy Dentistry. He was very professional and conscientious as we went through my medical history and evaluated my medical needs. Ruben was able to come up with a treatment plan that worked for my needs. I have lost over 50# and and feel wonderful. I am thankful Ruben didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear, but instead, evaluated my medical history and needs like a real medical professional and not a salesman. So many people with sleep apnea resulting in medical issues would greatly benefit from Ruben's professional and thoughtful care. I am very happy with the results! Thank you Ruben and the staff of Sleep Easy Dentistry!!!

I am in shock by the dis-service nurse ruben at this office gave me. I put aside time at my job to discuss a procedure with this person. This person discussed a lot of stuff but wasn't at all helpful to my specific needs/questions. This person wouldn't at all answer my questions instead gave me broad answers. This person continously talked over me, so due to this I jsd to keep repeating myself, as well as spoke extremely fast and I had to ask him numerous times to slow down that I am the customer. In addition I had to ask him several times if I could ask a question (something no customer should have to do) It seemed as if he were reading a script and that was his main concern. He rarely let me get a word in. Ruben was extremely unprofessional to say the least, and shouldn't at all be answering the phones. I requested to speak with a manager in regards to Ruben's dis-service. Ruben for some reason called me again... I explained to him that I would be leaving this important deserving review. (I'm thankful at that point I had another doctor's office at that time listening on the call as well as had someone in my house also listening)The strange, nutty, crazy fact that he called me back, that was a huge red flag.Totally don't recommend this office. It is hard to know where to begin to explain why I am so thankful for Sleep Easy and am happy to give a 5 star review! The first thing that comes to mind is that my life has changed for the better because of the treatments given by Dr Osborne and his team and also the evaluation they recommended and subsequent treatments I received from an ENT and neurologist (ENT: Dr Shah at American Sinus Institute. Neurologist: Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates. Both were wonderful, comfortable and educational experiences!). Most of all, I am able to get through each day without counting down the minutes until my kids have a nap or it's time for them to go to bed because I'm so exhausted! I have almost forgotten how frequently my husband would come home and find me asleep on the couch with my two young kids running around while I tried to get some rest because I was just SO tired. My kids are young (2.5 & 4.5 years old) and I have the energy to lay on the floor and read to them or run around and play without feeling like I'm going to fall asleep or just be so wiped out. I feel like I've been given back time to be with my kids and and enjoy life with my family and that is truly the greatest gift. I also can actually sleep at night without waking constantly. I feel refreshed in the morning and don't wake up with headaches or congestion. I actually am starting to dream again (I hadn't realized how long it'd been since I'd had a dream!). I don't dread going to sleep at night because it is actually restful and not wretchedly restless! I actually have been shocked at how easy it is to fall back asleep at night when I do wake up (mostly due to my two young kids). It was in a new patient exam where Dr Osborne was asking me what felt like lots of interesting questions for a dentist to ask, but then he mentioned I might have some indicators of sleep apnea. It was interesting to me to hear his thoughts and then I got a brief explanation from Ruben after the exam about how sleep apnea relates to dentistry. It wasn't until a particularly exhausting stretch of days that I desperately drove to get a thorough evaluation from Ruben. His questions and time spent educating me began to bring many different health issues ( arrhythmia, chest pains, stress, depression, heartburn to name a few) to mind and explain how restorative sleep would impact each of these issues in my body. I obviously wasn't getting restorative sleep at that time and I understood generally that sleep is an essential part of how our bodies heal and thrive. All that Dr Osborne and Ruben explained in detail made sense and I appreciated the approach of helping my body to get the rest it needed so it could heal and thrive the way it was designed. There is no pill to take to get the rest your body will get when restful sleep happens naturally! I could write a lot about how thankful I am for Sleep Easy and I've intended to write this review for a while because I'm just so thankful for Dr Osborne and his staff- Ruben, Courtney, Caroline and Abish have all been excellent and made this long journey easier on me because of their care. Go with confidence to Sleep Easy and know you will be taken care of thoroughly!
