My work as a dentist is very fulfilling, both personally and professionally. Its rewarding when I can help a patient overcome his or her anxiety and make the dental experience a positive one. My life has been very blessed by being able to meet so many unique individuals each day. It always amazes me how much gratitude and appreciation I receive when I help people overcome a challenge or concern to their oral health. I chose to become a dentist because Im passionate about helping others feel and look their best. Whether they are here for a simple checkup and exam, or are in need of advanced restorative care, each visit affords me the opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives. This responsibility is something I do not take lightly.

I enjoy advancing my knowledge of dentistry, because it helps me retain my excitement about the many ways I can help others live happy, healthy lives. I attend continuing education courses on a regular basis on dental implants, gum surgery, and the latest in dental technologies to help me provide the most current and up-to-date treatment and services for my patients.

When Im not in the office, I love spending time with my wife Kelti and our children, Benjamin, Emme, and Brigham, especially if were in the great outdoors. I also enjoy cooking, playing soccer, and following my teams, the Utah Jazz and Real Salt Lake. My passion is making the world that my children and their children will someday inherit a better place to live. I volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, and serve as a youth basketball and soccer coach. The communities we live in wouldnt be such great places to raise a family if not for the hours of generous service and dedication given by volunteers. I find that giving my time to these activities keeps me connected to others in my community.

I have had very poor/traumatizing experiences with past dentists so finding a dentist I feel safe with is quite the challenge. I can confidently say I am so grateful I found SLC dental - the entire staff is extremely friendly and kind. Dr. Allred is so patient, so gentle & talks you through each step. I had to get four crowns done and I genuinely can say I didn't feel any pain during the procedures & I felt fully supported by the staff. I can't recommend them enough!

I came to the office with a treatment plan from another doctor. I explained my situation and Dr. Allred was honest about it and offered me a treatment that fitted better. Highly recommend.

I was worried about getting my first crown. Dr. Allred and his assistant were awesome. It turned out to be mostly painless and much easier than I anticipated.

Finding a great dentist can be challenging and luckily I was introduced to Dr. Palmer and Dr. Allred. I've been a patient for years (thanks to a recommendation from my sister). I generally go to Dr. Palmer's office for my regular dental cleanings; however, over the years I have had other procedures done, beginning with Invisalign and then later three crowns. I am a very nervous dental patient, however, both Dr. Palmer and Dr. Allred put me at ease. Most recently I needed two crowns put in thanks to extremely old cracked silver fillings. I was very nervous (two crowns on the same side in the same day...yikes!). However, Dr. Allred did an AMAZING job! Seriously, the drilling went smoothly and the greatest thing....they make the crowns in house so you do not need to leave with a temporary crown and then find time in your schedule to come back and get the permanent installed. Nope, the procedure was done all in one day and I was good as new. Everything about the experience was perfect. I would highly recommend Dr. Palmer's and Dr. Allred's office.

Both Dr. Palmer and Dr. Allred are wonderful dentists! I have been seeing Dr. Palmer for a few years, and enjoy his high quality care, and efficient appointments. He is friendly without a bunch of small talk. When my wife needed some of her gum lasered off, he thoughtfully noted that she should wait until after her pregnancy because of the numbing agent. She didn't even need to ask! When it came time to do the work, she was concerned that it was going to be Dr. Allred, who she'd never met. He was just as terrific as Dr. Palmer at the consultation, and a great sport about her nerves during the procedure! This tiny office runs so well--everyone is kind, quickly returns calls, and is just plain good at their job. My wife especially wants to compliment Taylor, who has worked on her teeth every cleaning, and does a superb job.

I've been going to this dentist office for 30 years, since way before Dr. Palmer took over for the great Dr. Todd. They've built a really nice little practice (that is...super simple to find, btw). Some of the staff have been there since before I can remember, which I think says a lot about a place, and I bet Dr. Todd approves.

I went to Dr. Palmer's office yesterday morning as a new patient. When I arrived, there was an elderly gentleman with a walker in the waiting area. A few minutes later, one of the dental assistants came out to take him back for his cleaning. She greeted him and helped him stand. Then she said, "I have your John Denver all ready for you!" And as they made their way back, it was clear that he was having trouble walking. She said, "Let's take big steps! Cha Cha steps!" And off he went. Once he was in the back, I heard "Country Roads" start up, and he and the assistant were both singing along. Next up was "Leaving on a Jet Plane". When I was called back I mentioned it to my assistant, and she said the gentleman has Alzheimer's and playing and singing John Denver songs helps him remember and relax for his dental services. Oh, my heart! Talk about a practice that truly understands and cares for its patients. Wonderful.
