If you ask one of Dr. Laura 's patients about their experience, whether it is a small procedure or a large one, they will tell you that not only did Dr. Laura treat them professionally and with great care, butthey will also tell you that they were not allowed to leave her office until they told her the magic words: 'It Is perfect.' and is '100%' satisfactory. She takes the extra time to make sure that things are done right, and that her patients are truly happy with their results. 99% is not good enough for Dr. Laura 's patients. She refuses to deliver substandard results, andwants to deliver a product that she can be proud of.
Dr. Laura moved to Lakeway with her husband Ryan, after Ryan retired from an 8 year career in the NFL. While in the NFL, Ryan was fortunate enough to play for 3 great teams, the Minnesota Vikings, the Miami Dolphins, and most recently, THE Dallas Cowboys. GO COWBOYS!! ;) Ryan can be seen daily at SkyRidge Dental as our business manager. :) Together, Dr. Laura and Ryan have two beautiful little girls: Colette and Quinn, who were born right here in Lakeway! Because they live,work, and are raising their family in Lakeway, it is incredibly important to them to show their support and give back locally. Theyare always excited to sponsor teams, activities, events, and charities for theirpatients. <3
Dr. Popat was born in Southern California and moved to Virginia in 1999 when his parents purchased a sandwich shop. He finished up middle school and high school in Richmond, Virginia followed by undergraduate education at Virginia Tech from 2004-2007 where he received a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition Food and Exercise. After graduation, he worked in a local dental office for 5 months before starting dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. After graduating dental school, he did a 1 Year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During his residency, Dr. Popat worked on medically compromised and special needs patients. He also logged several hours in the operating room performing many surgical extractions and comprehensive dentistry. Dr. Popat has continued to learn the latest techniques and trends in dentistry by attending hundreds of hours of continuing education courses. He enjoys connecting with his patients and one of his favorite quotes regarding dentistry is It is important to remember that we are treating people not teeth. Dr. Popat is looking forward to meeting and treating patients at Sky Ridge Dental and working alongside Dr. Laura.
Growing up Dr. Popat did not have much access to dental care. As immigrants to this country his parents were always busy with their business endeavors which did not place dental treatment high on the priority list. While his friends were all having their teeth taken care of and having braces put on to fix their smiles, it was never something that he could have at the time. He knew what it felt like to be self-conscious about the way his teeth and smile looked and wanted a career in dentistry so that he could help others from basic oral health education to changing their smiles and in turn their lives.
In his spare time, he loves to travel and explore what the world has to offer. He has been fortunate enough to visit: Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Vienna, Greece, and Thailand. Although he is of Indian descent he has yet to make it to India! He enjoys the rich culture, foods, and experiences traveling has to offer. He also enjoys watching many different movies and television series as well as attending concerts and music festivals. His favorite place to be is at the beach! The thing he enjoys most in life though is spending time and sharing experiences with his family and close friends. Dr. Popat is very excited to be living in the Austin area and explore all that the city and state have to offer.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Bryan moved to Seattle to complete her AEGD residency program and advance her education while providing care to underserved communities. Dr. Bryan spent the next several years in private practice, as well as community clinics, always working to learn and advance her skills. She believes oral health is synonymous with whole body health and wants to work with her patients as a team to achieve their health goals together.
Dr. Bryan met her husband, Matthew, in Seattle, and very quickly fell in love with Texas when she visited to meet his family for the first time. After getting married in Austin in September of 2021, they began planning their move back to Matthews home state! She is beyond excited to begin their life here in the Austin area and to serve the wonderful patients at Sky Ridge Dental alongside Dr. Cook and Dr. Popat!
In her spare time, Dr. Bryan loves cooking new recipes, hiking, hot yoga, wine tasting, and even teaches hot Pilates classes! She loves to travel and be outdoors but her favorite place is with her family and friends. She and her husband are baseball fanatics and enjoy any and all live sporting events. Dr. Bryan and Matthew are so excited to be at home in the Austin area, especially having the privilege to work with the Sky Ridge Dental team.
