Dr. Henkin knew that she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry ever since she was a child. Both of her parents are dentists and seeing firsthand the rewards, challenges, and personal growth they experienced in their jobs provided her with limitless inspiration to follow in their footsteps. They currently own and operate one of the most prominent, well-respected dental clinics in the city, which has also given her valuable insight into how quality dental services can support the communitys health and improve lives. More than anything, she wants to continue her familys legacy with her very own dental office!
Dr. Henkin completed her doctorate at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, and her particular areas of interest are cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, dental implants, and oral surgery. While in school, she was selected to join the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society, which is an honor bestowed on a small group of dental students who are distinguished as the most dedicated and hardworking in their class. In her post-college years, shes attended advanced courses in implantology, endodontics, BOTOX, dermal fillings, and CEREC. She is also very proud to be a Fellow of the International Dental Implant Association and a current member of the American Dental Association and New Jersey Dental Association.
When she isnt busy at the dental office, Dr. Henkin spends lots and lots of quality time with her husband and daughter at home. Shes also very passionate about going to orchestra concerts, the opera, and Broadway shows whenever she gets the opportunity!
As important as your teeth are when it comes to your oral health, your gums matter just as much! Without consistent oral hygiene, they can actually develop an infection called periodontal disease. This can lead to swollen, red, sensitive, and bleeding gums, and eventually, it can even cause tooth loss. For patients struggling with this common problem, Dr. Henkin and the team at Skyline Dental are ready to take care of it using a variety of proven options for gum disease treatment in Springfield, NJ.
Periodontal disease is caused by a buildup of bacterial plaque and tartar on the teeth below the gum line, and scaling and root planing is a treatment thats specifically designed to remove it. Similar to a regular dental cleaning, a small scaler helps break up and eliminate these deposits, and then the roots of the teeth are smoothed out to make plaque less likely to accumulate on the gums in the future, keeping a patient safe from reinfection.
As periodontal disease becomes more advanced, a patient will often develop small pockets of bacteria between their gums and teeth that are very hard to clean with conventional tools. To reach this bacteria, our team can apply an antibiotic directly to the gums. There, it will initially dry, and then slowly dissolve over the next few days so its able to seep down and clean even the lowest part of the pockets.
PERIO FLOW is a small handheld device that enables our team to quickly clean infected periodontal pockets without having to scrape or prod the teeth. A single-use nozzle is put onto the device, and it directs a concentrated flow of water directly into a pocket. Its able to completely clean the area in about five seconds, and the patient will barely feel a thing during the entire process. It offers one of the quickest and easiest ways to address gum disease right where it occurs.

Amazing!! Everyone was so welcoming, was able to get an appointment quickly, helped with insurance and just very comfortable, enjoyable experience (not usual for this type of appointment). Clearly laid out follow up plan and scheduled appointment immediately. Highly recommend!!

The office staff, hygenist, and dentist are all very good, helpful, friendly, and professional. They also accept my insurance, which former dentists said did not pay enough for services, so all the better. After my initial appointment, I am very happy -- and I do recommend them.

I wish I could give Skyline Dental more than a 5-star rating - they deserve it! I have an extremely low tolerance for pain; more about that in a moment. From the moment I made my appointment until my tooth extraction was completed, everyone at Skyline was very nice, pleasant, and mindful of my pain tolerance. Before Dr. Henkin began my procedure, she told me that she'd make my experience as painful as possible (did I tell you I have a low tolerance for pain :)), and she did just that. Throughout the procedure, she asked about the discomfort I was experiencing. When it went to level two out of ten, she stopped and gave me another shot to ease my discomfort before starting again - did you notice the word 'pain' missing? If there's dentistry in heaven, I suspect Skyline Dental is operating it. Because my experience was heavenly - and I have a low tolerance for pain :). Needless to say, I very highly recommend Skyline Dental! ... Greg

HORRIBLE!!! As a new patient I was turned away TWICE! The 1st time they couldn't verify my insurance, so the receptionist rescheduled me for the following week. I get there the next week and now the SAME receptionist who I saw scheduled my appointment tells me she doesn't have an appointment for me, then she says..she left a message on my phone and canceled my appointment. I asked her whatt number she called, she says the WRONG NUMBER! Now I have to RESCHEDULE AGAIN! She LIES to me, and now I have to come back a 3rd TIME?!? THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME EVER! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!. it's obvious they DON'T VALUE their clients. I'm Good. NEVER AGAIN!

This was my first time here...I got a cleaning from Anna and she was amazing. She was so friendly and pleasant and made me feel relaxed and comfortable for my cleaning. Anytime I get a cleaning I am requesting her! I also got a tooth removed and dr Munoz did that and it was by far the best experienced I've had removing a tooth. I felt no pain. Everyone is so nice and knowledgeable. Let's be honest nobody likes going to the dentist but they made my visit as good and comfortable as they could and I truly appreciate that!

My crown fell off, and my regular dentist couldn't find time to fit me in the schedule. Additionally, I had been looking for a dentist closer to my office , so I decided to give Skyline Dental a try. They were able to fit me in immediately and reattach the crown. Everyone on their staff was extremely friendly and professional, and the dentist took time to explain the issues with my current crown. I love that they have early and late hours, which means I can go before or after work. I only have one appointment to base my opinion on, but the initial visit led me to schedule my next check up with them and become a new client.
