Since 1983, Dr. Skowronski has been practicing dentistry in the Detroit area, with his first practice located in St. Clair Shores. In that time, he has learned many lessons that only experience can teach, but he has also been dedicated to continuing his formal education in dentistry. Every month he and his staff complete some form of continuing education. He now serves Sterling Heights, MI, and the surrounding areas with a combination of old-school bedside manner and the latest techniques and technologies.
Dr. Raymond Skowronski Jr. is certified by the Northeast Regional Board of Dentistry. After graduation from De La Salle Collegiate High School, Dr. Skowronski attended the University of Detroit, earning his bachelors degree in biology and graduating summa cum laude. He continued his education and received his doctorate from the University of Detroit, School of Dentistry four years later. Dr. Skowronski was very involved in his academic community, serving as the president of Psi Omega as well as being an active member of Alpha Epsilon Delta and Alpha Sigma Nu. Upon graduation, Dr. Skowronskis academic and clinical excellence was recognized by receiving the oral and maxillofacial surgeons award, the Pierre Fauchard Award, the scholastic Achievement Award as well as being inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the highest academic honor achievable by any dental student. Dr. Skowronski also attended and completed the United States Dental Institute in 1990.
After graduation, Dr. Skowronski realized he had a true passion not only for dentistry but for teaching as well. He returned to the dental school, where he served as a member of their faculty until 1988. During this time, he also served as a prominent faculty member for Oakland University. As a proud alumnus of De La Salle Collegiate High School, Dr. Skowronski has served on the board of trustees to ensure a bright future for the school. Dr. Skowronskis love for the classroom is something he is still passionate about today and values the opportunity to lecture to any age group about the importance of oral health, TMJ & sleep medicine.
Dr. Skowronski understands that dentistry is a dynamic field, and he works hard to remain at the forefront of his discipline. He is a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, fellowship eligible member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He obtained Diplomat status for the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Skowronski is an active member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine International Association for Orthodontics, and finally a charter member of the American Association of Functional Orthodontists. Dr. Skowronski has also completed well over 2000 hours of continuing education since graduating with emphasis on subjects such as head, face, and neck pain, as well as orthodontics and dental sleep medicine.
In 1983 Dr. Skowronski opened the doors to his practice in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Over the years, his practice has grown substantially. With the support of his family as well as much planning and consideration, he built a new state-of-the-art office in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Dr. Skowronski strives to provide the finest quality and the most current dental health care available within a comfortable environment.
Dr. Kyle Katynski (also known as Dr. K) is excited to help Dr. Skowronski deliver quality care to patients. He brings a fresh new perspective on dentistry but is also eager to learn the lessons of experience that Dr. Skowronski can share.
Dr. K has already earned numerous accolades. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (2016) and served as president of his dental class. Since graduating, he has been recognized by the Consumers Research Council of America as one of Americas Top Dentists. Prior to dental school, Dr. Katynski obtained his Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Katynski is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the Macomb Dental Society (MDS), the Michigan Dental Association (MDA), and the American Dental Association (ADA) and has served on a committee for the MDS.
When not practicing dentistry or pursuing continuing education courses, Dr. Katynski enjoys running, biking, kayaking and has completed a marathon, Olympic triathlon, and many other intermediate distance running events. He is also an avid Detroit sports and Michigan Wolverines fan.

Still highly satisfied with Dr. Ray and Staff. Teeth look great with the braces process. Highly recommend. I was referred to Dr. Ray by my parents. Dr. Ray and staff care about you as a person. Everyone in this office is wonderful and go out-of-the way to help you. I have referred a friend for TMJ and they have also shared Dr. Ray as a referral. I'm now in the process of a second round of braces - of course, didn't have Dr. Ray the first time - and I have been so impressed with the skill of Dr. Ray and staff. Advice for anyone who is looking for a new Dentist - you will NOT be disappointed... If you are in a rotten mood when you get there, trust me you will leave with better spirits as he has a way of cheering everyone up.

Dr. Skowronski has helped me with my TMJ for the last 7 years. I was told by other doctors and dentists that my TMJ could only be treated surgically. I went to physical therapy tried Flexeril and naproxen and nothing helped. But Dr. Skowronski helped me! It was a process with retainers, bite guards, and braces, but it has been worth it. My jaw no longer clicks, I can open my jaw all the way, and my jaw no longer locks. I am so thankful for Dr. Skowronski and all of his team members. I would recommend them over and over. Thank you Dr. Ray!

Been going to Dr Skowronski's office for years. I receive good work and all staff are friendly. 9-28-2022 just went to see Dr. Fluegge for adjustments. Had a few issues with my new dentures and both Dr Ray and Dr Fluegge agreed to a new denture remake.It is super to know they care so much for their patients and that they go out of their way to satisfy their patients.
