Dr. Carroll has practiced Advanced Dentistry for over 25 years with advanced training in neuromuscular dentistry from the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). This is where she learned how to manage headaches, TMJ issues, full mouth reconstructions and sleep apnea appliances. A long time resident of Washington, she got her biology degree from the University of Washington and her dental degree from the University of Southern California in 1987.
It was at LVI that I learned the importance of muscle function in treating these conditions successfully. There are differences amongst us dentists in how we make sleep apnea appliances. My philosophy is centered on muscles. Happy face, head and neck muscles, means a happy patient while wearing the sleep appliance. A huge part of loving your appliance comes from muscle comfort.
A great deal of patients I treat with sleep apnea come to me because they cannot tolerate the CPAP face mask. In the beginning, the medical community was reluctant to refer patients who didnt want to wear a CPAP mask, perhaps because they werent sure the oral appliance would work. But they know better now. Many medical doctors give their newly diagnosed sleep apnea patients a choice now: a CPAP machine or an oral appliance.
What I love about the appliance is that it gives the patient more freedom of movement verses the CPAP machine. They can toss from one side to the next easily while wearing something in their mouth and are not strapped down with a mask. Getting up in the middle of the night is much easier and I think the appliance looks sexier than the face mask as well! They travel easier too.

I have had the good fortune of having Dr Janette Carroll and team be my dentist. She has changed my smile with a full set of beautiful white inlays on all my front teeth as well as all the beautiful white crowns, all my silver fillings are gone now. This was my first visit to Dr. Carroll's office. I was having a dental emergency and they got me in that same day. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Carroll is a very kind and compassionate person. She truly listened to me and made feel at ease. She is very knowledgeable about TMJ. I learned so much from her in a short period of time. I look forward to future visits where I have confidence that she is going to help me with some of the problems I have had for a long time. She is like no other dentist I have met. I have never felt so comfortable being in a dentist's office.

Dr. Carroll and her team care and do a wonderful job; I had all my mercury removed 2 years ago, and my continuing care/cleanings/checkups are done with care and professionalism. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I really appreciate their holistic approach to dentistry, it's not just about your teeth. It's about your jaw, the air way, and the way you bite sits, etc. While the approach is different, the long term & immediate benefits are reduced pain and a healthier body.

I'm so glad I found a dentist's office where you are treated well. Before becoming a patient at Dr. Carroll's office, I didn't have a set dentist. I would try out places until I found Dr. Carroll. I've been a patient of this office for more than 5 years now. The interaction I've had with the staff at this office has been great and no complaints. I've worked with Kira and always had a great experience with her. I recently had an interaction with a new staff member (Erin) she is very attentive and I appreciate her suggestions and options for some treatments I need to get done. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this office and highly recommend it. Thank you!

As a real do-it-yourself kind of person I'm pretty sure I make things more difficult when it comes to working with me. I'm a patient that requires patience and lots of clear detailed communication. Thankfully I believe I've finally found some great people that are willing and able to assist with my oral health/healing adventure.

Dr. Carroll and her stuff are all kind and friendly. My family and I recently made about 1800 miles round trip to see a hygienist Kyra to have RPE treatment for my gum disease. She was very caring and I was very comfortable during the procedure. I wish we lived closer!

I couldn't be more pleased with the experience I had as a new patient in Dr Carrolls practice. Each staff member paid attention to the things I was telling them and I left feeling heard and understood. My hygienist took her time explaining everything she was doing and educated me on more thorough ways to enhance my oral home care. Dr. Carroll has been my dentist since 2005. She and her staff always go above and beyond to maintain my dental health. I recently developed a very painful oral issue, and Dr. Carroll was able to see me day I called and refer me to an oral surgeon immediately.
