Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Sirin moved to California when he was ten years old. Wearing braces at a young age caused him to start thinkingabout a career in dentistry. As he got older and began considering a profession, dentistrys appeal got stronger.
Dr. Sirin earned bachelor of science degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of California. As he applied to dental schools, he began traveling and fell in love with the Chicago area. He went on to attend Northwestern University Dental School and earned his doctor of dental surgery degree in 1998. After dental school, Dr. Sirin moved back to California to practice. But after a few years there, he returned to the Chicago area where he has lived and practiced since 2002.
According to Dr. Sirin, My goal is not to just do the same thing every day, but to advance myself and stay ahead of the curve, and to push myself a little more with every patient and every challenge that I encounter. Its an exciting time to be in dentistry and I am thankful every day that I have the opportunity to do what I love and be a part of this profession.
Dr. Sirins commitment to his goal is evident through the time he spends in post-graduate training. Although the state of Illinois requires dentists to complete 16 hours of continuing education each year, Dr. Sirin completes 100-130 hours yearlymore than six times the requirement. This extensive training often focuses on cosmetic dentistry services such as tooth whitening, porcelain veneers, and porcelain crowns.
Dr. Sirin doesnt merely want to fix your teeth, he wants to make them look as if they were never broken, decayed, discolored, or misaligned in the first place. He strives to achieve those goals by practicing minimally invasive dentistry without unnecessarily cutting away tooth structure. Dr. Sirins philosophy means that he will always strive to be conservative in your dental care. He would much rather prevent a cavity than fill it. To him, a small filling is much better than a large one. He will always try to save your tooth, rather than just extract it.
Luree is a registered dental hygienist with over 25 years experience. She also teaches at Elgin Community College in the Dental Assisting Program and currently sits on the Dental Assisting National Board Infection Control Committee. Luree has been part of the practice for the last 22 years. She strives for excellent quality care while providing a comfortable experience.
Maria is a registered dental hygienist. Maria graduated fromWilliam Rainey Harper College in 2003 receiving an Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Shes also certified in local anesthesia. Before dental hygiene school Maria worked as a dental assistant for 13 years in family practice. Maria enjoys being able to help patients become healthy and improve their smiles in a family atmosphere. She enjoys coming into work every day and making a patients dental experience positive and relaxing. Maria also likes to partake in charity events such as breast cancer and oral cancer awareness. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and her dog, Oliver. She also enjoys traveling, kayaking, biking, reading and being an advocate for animal rights.
Severin has been a Dental Hygienist since 1997,when she graduated from East Tennessee State Universitys dental hygiene program. She has been caring for patients in the Elgin area since relocating from North Carolina in 2002. Severin enjoys reading, spending time with her family, traveling, and gardening.
Carrie is a dental assistant. She is a 1990 graduate of St. Edwards High School and earned an AA at Elgin Community College. She was lucky enough to obtain a job as a Dental Assistant in 1992 with on-the-job training and has continued her career since. Carrie has been employed at the same location for 20 years and makes a point to get to know her patients. She has a great attitude and cares for her patients on an individual basis. Most of Carries off time is spent with her son fishing, traveling or enjoying great food.
Monika joined Sirin Dentistry as a Dental Assistant in September 2017. She studied at Free University of Berlin and earned her Masters Degree of Dentistry from Frankfurt University. For over 15 years she owned and work at her dental practice in Wiesbaden, Germany. Monika moved to the United States in 2016. She enjoys working and interacting with patients. Monika is working towards attaining her dental license in the USA. In her free time she likes playing golf, skiing and bicycling.
Debbie joined Sirin Dentistry in June of 2020 as the office manager. With over 12 years of managerial experience, she utilizes her skills and experience to better serve our patients. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, staying fit and cooking.
