Dr. Sophia Beason-Brown received her undergraduate studies in pre-med biology in Tulsa, OK and graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C. with her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Prior to procuring Simsbury Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Beason-Brown completed a pediatric dental fellowship with the Childrens Hospital in Hartford CT, as well as two years general practice residency at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. While there she was the chief resident and recipient of the prestigious oral surgery award. She is dedicated to the most current advancements in dentistry and maintains a strong commitment to continuing education.
Among the many distinguishing qualities of Dr. Beason-Brown, as mentioned by team and patients alike, are her gentleness, attention to detail, her affable disposition, and impeccable bedside manner. She takes great pride and joy in providing exceptional dentistry in a caring and pleasant environment. Dr. Beason-Brown provides an array of dental services including treatment of gum disease, surgical placement of implants, Invisalign, TMJ therapy, sleep apnea treatment, pediatric dentistry, and cosmetic dental services. She is a professional member of the national and state dental associations, as well as multiple study clubs. Her goal is to provide exceptional service in a comfortable atmosphere.
When Dr. Beason-Brown is not practicing her passion of cosmetic dentistry, she spends most of her time with her husband, three children, and her German Spitz dog. She is an avid reader, loves tennis, singing, and playing the guitar.

Scheduled an appointment well in advance and signed a release allowing information from a previous dentist to be sent to this dentist. On the day of my appointment, the aforementioned information wasnt there. I had to wait for the information to be sent while I waited in the dentist's chair. After the consultation and an x-ray of my dental implant, the dentist shook my hand and said she'd see me soon, and I waited for my dental insurance company to send an estimate regarding what the company would pay, as instructed by the dentist's staff. Upon not hearing from my insurance company for some time, I sought help from the dentist's staff. I was told this dentist had told the staff she wouldn't be adherering the crown after all, stating that she didn't deal with my type of implant. Why hadn't she come to this conclusion after taking the x-ray. Had I never called her office, I would have never known this dentist wouldn't be doing the work. When I asked to speak to the dentist, I was told she was on vacation. A very unsatisfactory experience.

Literally everything about this office is amazing. The front desk staff is friendly, the hygienist is so nice and great at her job, and of course Dr. Beason-Brown is the best dentist around! They treat you like family and truly care about their patients and their well being. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

Dr. Beason-Brown was my first dentist after moving to CT. She's helped correct a few errors from my previous dentist and always listens and goes from there. Won't go to anyone else and thankful to have found her.

I've been going to Dr. Beason-Brown for 5 years and very highly recommend her. I lived in NYC for 3 of those years and even traveled back to CT for appointments because I can't inagine finding a better dentist. The team working around Dr. Beason-Brown is also amazing, I enjoy seeing everyone in the office when I visit.

Dr. Beason-Brown and her staff are both competent and caring! Not only do they provide excellent dental care (I recently had a crown done and also my 6 month cleaning) but they go out of their way to make me feel comfortable and valued as a patient. Every person who I convinced to try out the practice is now a patient there. Enough said!

A wonderful office all around. Dr. Beason-Brown does excellent work and has a calming presence. The staff are friendly, professional, and responsive. You never have to wait more than a min when arriving for an appointment.
