Dr. Leila attended the University of Houston, where she earned her Bachelor of Science. Afterwards, she received a doctorate from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She then moved to Washington DC and, after studying at Howard University, earned her certificate of orthodontics. She is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthodontists and SPEAR Education.
The first time Dr. Alkhoury thought about becoming an orthodontist was when he was 17 years old. His sister needed braces for her crooked teeth, and this simple service had a big impact on her quality of life. Before, shed always been extremely self-conscious about smiling and sometimes even talking. Dr. Alkhoury witnessed her whole personality change firsthand, and it was truly a profound experience. Today, he believes that this is where his passion for the field stemmed from!
Dr. Alkhoury attended Boston University for his Doctor of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors. He then underwent his Residency in Advanced Education in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at New York University. Over the course of his career, he has been the proud recipient of an orthodontic award from the American Academy of Orthodontists and a Program Director award.
