Dr. Carter is a general dentist that enjoys all aspects of dentistry. He is particularly interested in family and cosmetic dentistry including veneers teeth whitening. 'Seeing my patients smile without having to cover up their teeth is one of the best compliments I can receive as a dentist.'
Dr. Carter worked with the elderly and disabled as a Certified Nursing Assistant while in high school and college. At age 19, he put his college on hold to serve a two-year Christian mission to the Philippines, where he became fluent in two local dialects. After receiving a Bachelors degree in accounting from Utah State University, he attended dental school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. During his fourth year of dental school, Dr. Carter applied for and was accepted to participate in a year-long oral surgery clerkship. He spent three days each week working closely with oral surgeons to help develop and refine his medial knowledge and surgical techniques. Following graduation, Dr. Carter worked in various dental practices in Winder, Duluth, and Monroe, GA. These experiences helped Dr. Carter to develop a patient oriented, friendly method of treatment delivery. In March 2008, Dr. Carter accompanied Operation Smile to Hanoi, Vietnam, on a dental mission to provide basic care to impoverished citizens of that country.
Dr. Carter moved to Walton County in 2008 from Athens, GA. He intended to only be in Walton County temporarily but, as he became involved in the community he and his wife fell in love with the small-town atmosphere. They have decided to put down permanent roots here and look forward to serving the citizens of this great community.
Dr. Joseph McLain DMD was born in Mississippi but grew up in Athens Georgia. He lived there with 4 siblings and his parents for 19 yrs. At the the age of 19 he decided to serve a mission for his church and left home to live in El Salvador for 2 years. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoyed his time serving others and made deep bonds with the people who live there.
After his mission he came home and earned his B.S. in spanish at the University of Georgia where he met his wife, Rebekah. They met at the end of May 2008 and were married for time and eternity in October of 2008.
After 4 years they were blessed with a healthy baby boy, Parker. He joined the ROTC program while at UGA and graduated as a 2LT. He is a member of the Georgia National Guard and currently holds the rank of Captain.
After completing his undergrad he and his wife moved to Augusta for 4 years where he earned his DMD from the Dental College of Georgia. During that time at dental school he and his wife had 4 more children, Kate 2013, Mason 2015, Jack 2017, Barrett 2018. They now have made Loganville their home.

I came to Simply Dental by recommendation and I am so glad I did. I went in for my biannual cleaning and it was seamless from start to finish. It felt like they took the time to understand why so many people fear dentists; let it be nerves or bad experiences, they kept my dental session short and for me painless. I liked that they didn't try to sell me any extra services or add more cleaning appts that were not warranted. My teeth are not perfect but they made me feel like I'm on the right track. Their name fits their service, this a very nice professional establishment.

This is absolutely the best dental visit I've experienced. Facility is very lively and the staff is great. Actually looking forward to my next appointment. That's insane for a dental visit.

As I walked in, the place was very clean, everyone greeted me with a smile, and the staff was very helpful and polite. I also didn't wait to be seen either they were very quick. They took an X-ray of my tooth and scheduled an appointment for next week. I came back for my appointment and the whole process went smoothly. Dr Carter numbed my gum, waited about 10 minutes came back in and 2 minutes later I'm ready to leave and go home. I highly recommend going here for all your dental needs.

Amazing dentist! I dread going to the dentist and decided to try this place out after reading other reviews and having a less than stellar visit at a different practice. They initially told me they were booked out for quite a while for new patients, but she called me back that same day and let me know they had a cancellation and I could have that spot, which I think is superb customer service! I got one filling done after my cleaning and Dr. McClain made it seem like a piece of cake. This was easily the best dental visit I've ever had. Wish I had found them sooner!

They have a 5 star rating for a reason! My appointment was superb from beginning to end. My nurse was very patient and professional and made me feel comfortable the whole time. I went in for a root canal or an extraction, but definitely leaning toward the root canal bc I'm 21 and not ready to lose any teeth lol. The nurse could've push me towards the root canal bc the price of that procedure is definitely more beneficial for them, but did not. She was not bias at all, and told me the truth, so I ended up going with the extraction which was much better for my pockets and the tooth I needed work done to was the last tooth to the back of my mouth, so after speak with her and Dr. carter it made sense. I was scared bc I i usually hate going to the dentist, bc growing up it's always been painful, Nd plus I was 37 weeks pregnant, but Dr. Carter must have magic hands bc I literally felt nothing even thought I just had a whole tooth pulled out of my mouth. The healing process was a breeze as well. A+++
