Dr Joseph Simonetti grew up in West Hempstead, New York and attended the University of Hartford where he was the first student to be selected to dental school after college. He graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Dentistry in 1973. Soon after, he partnered with Dr Robert Teisch and they opened a new office at 117 West Main St, East Islip in 1978. Dr Joe was a mentor to one young patient in particular, Robert Domozych, who went to dental school and eventually became a partner in the practice. Soon later, Roberts brother Richard joined the practice, followed by Dr Joes son, Scott.
In 2006 the practice of Simonetti and Domozych proudly moved next door to our brand-new office at its present location at 127 West Main St. Dr Joe has been serving the East Islip and surrounding communities for over 45 years. He is an avid golfer and can be frequently seen in his golf knickers and matching golf shoes. Dr Joe has been an accomplished artist for over half a century and many of his works of art can be seen hanging on the walls of the dental office. He is the father of five boys and one daughter, Sara who plays basketball for East Islip. His two youngest sons, Stephen and Michael, are currently attending Dental School and plan on joining the practice. Dr Joe and his wife Laura enjoy boating and spending time with friends.
Dr. Robert Domozych has spent his whole life in East Islip except for the four years he attended University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating in 1985, he has been a partner in the current practice of Simonetti & Domozych.
Dr. Rich Domozych was born and raised in East Islip, New York and graduated from East Islip High School. He studied at Stony Brook University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1989. Dr. Rich attended Virginia Commonwealth Universitys Medical College of Virginia Dental School and earned his D.D.S. degree in 1993.
Dr. Rich began practicing dentistry as an associate of Dr. Charlie Wright in Charleston, West Virginia before returning to New York and joining the Simonetti and Domozych practice in 1996. Dr. Rich is grateful to serve patients in the community in which he grew up and to practice alongside his brother, Dr. Bob.
Dr Scott Simonetti was born in West Virginia while his father was attending West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1973. He grew up in Great River, New York and attended East Islip High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and then attended the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where he earned his D.D.S. degree in 2001.
Dr Scott immediately joined the Simonetti and Domozych practice in 2001 and has recently designed and developed a US and International patent pending oral orthotic, The POD. Dr Scott has lectured at multiple continuing education programs and has appeared on national radio programs and blogs, discussing nitric oxide, mitochondria, intermittent hypoxia and disordered breathing. He has presented research to the Department of Defense at Ft Detrick Maryland and at the Military System Health Research Symposium in Kissimmee Florida.

I want to personally thank Rich Domozych for everything he did for me and changed my life. And the staff that was so kind and caring when I went through probably one of the worst things I ever had to go through and made the experience so much easier. Your kindness and caring from all is sooo greatly appreciated!!!

I called today to get dental savings plan information. A woman named Judith answered the phone and I proceeded to ask her a couple of questions. The first one was, "do you guys accept dental savings plans?". She had no idea. I was put on hold and she got the answer from somebody and told me yes. I asked her okay great, "which companies do you guys take?". Now she gets frustrated and says "I don't know I think EDP is one of them". After calling a few offices I understand EDP is commonly accepted. I asked her "what's the percentage I'd get off on everything?", which is how these plans work, if you don't have insurance or are capped on your insurance you join a dental savings plan where you pay out of pocket but with a discount. Judith the whispered "oh my god" and breathed hard and said "I don't know I don't know, I wouldn't be able to find out". Ma'am, I'm not deaf, why don't you know the basic coverage information for your job. According to these reviews you have been giving people a bad experience over the phone for years which means you are well seasoned and should know all of this. But you didn't. So when I asked the other 2 questions why didn't you give the phone to that more knowledgeable person you asked in the first place? Instead of being rude and dismissive. Every dentist's office receptionist knows this information, if not they can look it up really quickly. I had been to this establishment many years ago and since I moved back to Long Island I figured let me give them a call, however if Judith is a precursor to the treatment I'd be getting, I warn anyone looking to make an appointment to go elsewhere, where you are spoken to like an adult.

Dr. Rich Domozych's is a great dentist. Our whole family goes to their office and we couldn't be happier with the service they provide. All the Doctors are great but Dr. Rich is our favorite.

When you call to make an appointment the woman that answer the phone gives you an attitude first hand just by asking if they take your insurance. It's like she expects you to know what insurances they participate with. Even though I called my insurance sometime they don't have updated list so they can't just assume you know ahead of time if they do or don't. The doctor's might be great but if front desk don't have manners there's no point on going to this office.

I used to see Dr. Simonetti years ago and i tell everyone I know to stay away from him. The receptionist is nasty, rude and constantly making mistakes and the doctor is uncaring and not at all gentle. He only cares about your money. The last time I went there I was a few minutes early for my appointment. I held the door open for an elderly woman to walk inside and while the receptionist spoke to her and then just dilly dallied while I stood there. She saw me hold the door and saw me standing there. The receptionist finally acknowledged me more than 10 minutes after my appointment and then refused to sign me in because it was after my appointment time despite the fact that I was in the building early and she just didn't do anything to assist me while I stood in front of her desk and waited. To be honest, she did me a favor because that dentist is mediocre at best and his office is more of a chop shop. Just dont go here.

I went for a filling that was giving me issues (due to a different dentist) so they refilled it. They ended up putting too much silver filing in my tooth making my gum irritated. I went back to let them know that my tooth would hurt for a long time after flossing and they said I needed a crown (about $600!) I was left like this for MONTHS. I ended up getting a new dentist and they fixed the problem in a day (had to get my tooth filled a third time, but it was finally done correctly.)

I've been a patient of Dr Bob for almost a decade. I've had dentists that caused a lot of damage and pain when I was younger. I've easily had 10+ root canals and I can't even count the additional work. A few issues are even from poor work done by other dentists since I was a child. I was terrified of dentists. Dr Bob has been gentle and patient and always concerned with me being comfortable. He's worked with me when I didn't have dental insurance, more concerned with dental health problems getting worse if I waited until I had insurance coverage. He puts his patients first. I can't praise him and his office enough. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have 2 locations and I've had great experiences in both offices. They've become family!
