Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, its both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
At PLNU I met my wife, Winter Mitchell, who was born and raised in Bremerton. She introduced me to the wonderful state of Washington, and we were married here in Kitsap County on a beautiful July afternoon.
My interest in biology, my love for fixing things with my hands, and a desire to help people all led me to a career in dentistry, which I studied at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in southern California.
I am dedicated to continuing my dental education and staying up to date with all the latest technologies. I am a preferred Invisalign provider and have completed extensive training in orthodontics. It is a joy to help patients straighten their smiles, whether it is with clear or traditional braces. I am an active member in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, as well as the Kitsap County Dental Society. I have spent hundreds of hours honing my skills and training in the areas of implant dentistry, Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry, and orthodontics.
In my spare time I enjoy staying active. I am an avid golfer, and also enjoy snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, running, and racquetball. During time off Winter and I love to read and enjoy cooking together and experimenting with new recipes. We also have a passion for traveling to new places, especially short day trips around the Northwest. Our two Vizslas, Maeby and Rebel, have been keeping us very busy as well.
I grew up in Tacoma where I attended Stadium High School. In 1972, I graduated from the University of Washington Dental School and was then an Air Force dentist for two years before starting my practice at Silverdale Dental Center in 1974.
For three years, during my career at Silverdale Dental Center, I wrote a monthly dental article for the Kitsap Sun Newspaper. I am a strong supporter of the dental benefits of fluoride and wrote an original article on fluoride dosing and application for Kitsap County children. This paper was distributed to physicians and dentists throughout the county.
Over the years I have had the pleasure to practice with many excellent dentists here at Silverdale Dental Center. I am particularly delighted to currently be surrounded our outstanding general dentists Dr. Jason Niemeyer, Dr. Sherrill Conner and Dr. Alex Cibor, and specialists Dr. Tracy Scott and Dr. Tina Olsson.
My family includes daughter Jenny and husband Tim, who live in Seattle with my first grandchildren Jimmy and Phoebe; son John, who is a veterans liaison for the Seattle Community College system; daughter Jessie who works for Western Washington University and lives in Bellingham with husband Tyler; son Sam who is attending college in Oregon.

My first cleaning at Silverdale Dental Center was excellent! I am in a wheelchair and the restroom is very handicap accessible , one of the nicer ones that my husband and I have encountered . My only suggestion would be to install automatic door opener at the entrance, it would be much appreciated!

I've avoided the dentist for years because my teeth were in rough shape and I have so much anxiety surrounding dental work and the judgement I'm afraid I'll face. I ended up with a pretty emergent dental problem a couple days ago and was able to be seen this morning at Silverdale Dental Center. I was honest about my anxiety, and the assistants that helped me really took that into consideration to help me feel more comfortable. The first dentist I saw was kind, gentle, and compassionate, and instead of making me wait even longer with a tooth infection, she collaborated with one of the other dentists to get my dental work all completed the same day. I had a pretty extensive extraction, but I was comfortable the whole time, I loved listening to how well the team performing my procedure worked together, and even the front desk and billing workers were so extremely kind to me. This dental office is full of the most inviting and compassionate staff and I'm so grateful that they squeezed me in to relieve me of this tooth pain that I've been living with for years. I'm definitely crying some tears of relief while typing this.

Had a superior experience with Dayna and Elizabeth! They went out of their way to best advocate for me and my care. I have always had a lovely time at SDC - been going there for almost 30 years - but this experience stood out among the rest! Don't take your dental assistants for granted! Some of the best people out there.

I had a molar that was painful and very sensitive to the touch, the staff made me comfortable and gave me a local sedative on the area of the bad molar. Soon after they came back and removed the bad boy under a minute, even though they were bursting at the seams with emergencies like mine. To wrap it up, I had a great experience and the staff was brilliant! Highly recommended, Thank you!!!

Friendly staff, saw dr. Conner. Cheerful, did an exam and we talked about my teeth history. He explained what was going on with some of my teeth and we came up with a treatment plan that would work with my insurance. So glad I came here!

My last visit to Silverdale Dental Clinic was very good. I had one of their newest Hygienist clean my teeth and take x-rays. She was a very nice person, gentle and caring too. I hope to have her next time I get my teeth cleaned.

The pediatric dentist and dental assistant were amazing and patient with my toddler who freaks out evert time. The dentist sang while cleaning her teeth and my daughter actually stopped crying half way through. Always professional there.
