Dr. Daniel Dufera grew up in Silver Spring with his family. After graduating from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, he attended the University of Maryland for his undergraduate studies in chemical engineering and later obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University ofMaryland Dental School. He then completed a general practice residency program at MontefioreMedical Center in Bronx, NY.
Dr. Dufera returned to Silver Spring to serve the community by providing quality dental care with a wide range of procedures,including fixed andremovable prosthodontics, root canal therapy, crown and bridge,simple and surgicalextractions, and more. He has taken numerous hours of continuous education courses to enhance his clinical skills and remain current on the latest advances in dentistry.

I've been going to Dr. Dufera for years now and I don't have a single complaint. He and his Staff are warm, friendly and caring even when they give you a stern talking to about flossing, it is done with love. Lol. I've visited several dental practices over the course of my life and Silver Spring Smiles is by far my favorite. I highly recommend Dr. Dufera and the Silver Spring Smiles team.

Great experience. My dentist & assistant were very patient with me as I have sensitive teeth. They were very gentle & careful yet my teeth were sparkling clean when they were done! Glad I found them.

This is a phenomenal dentist's office. Every member of my family comes here. I transferred my kids from a pediatric dentist to Dr. Dufera because he actually heard me out, and explained things to me as a concerned parent. Furthermore, when one of my daughter's needed dental work, she chose to have him do the procedures instead of a pediatric dentist because she felt calmer and safer with him. He explained everything to her, and worked with her comfort level. His general approach to dentistry is very personable, and his treatment plans individualized for patients. He is a patient, efficient, and a warm dentist. These qualities are reflected in the office overall. Everyone who works at the office is warm, efficient, respectful. I fully recommend Silver Spring Smiles to anyone.

Very bad organization of the staff when someone wants to schedule an appointment. They cancelled back to back appointments although they are confirmed. No reason to be rude over the phone and discriminate latinos, bad service.

Don't try. Schedule services due to lack of personnel are not on time and they will put a fee to you for their own mistakes. Avoid at all cost unless you have nothing to lose. Registration lady was great at start.

Very bad organization. The lady Wendy is very rude and disrespectful, she will over-talk and cancel the appointment even though you confirmed using voicemail or called them and they didn't answer a day before. Administration is going down, they might have good professionals but with bad administration, negative. Unfortunately they cancelled my spot and gave it to someone else. Also avoid for HIPPA compliance breach, it seems they care more about numbers than people. The previous lady was nice for registration but not the supervisor/team leader, abusive to minorities. Good luck!

Never leave reviews and I've been in Silver Spring 6 years but this is hands down the best dental experience I've had. No knock to my previous dentist but Dr Dufera is extremely knowledgeable and professional and always easy to reach I'm glad I found this place. 10/10 would recommend it to everyone. PS: I hate the dentist's office as much as everyone else, but I feel pretty comfortable going there and love it so far!

Very Professional, and they pay attention to the details. They took their time in examining me when I came in with a sudden onset of sharp pain in my teeth and jaw. They made recommendations based on the x rays and I was on my way.

The whole team at Silver Spring Smiles is amazing! From the front desk to the clinical staff, they are extremely professional, welcoming and kind. As someone who gets anxious any time I'm in a dentist chair, I really appreciate their welcoming environment and attention to detail. Dr. Dufera and his team are the best around and I can't recommend their office enough!

Dr Dufera and Dr. Grinc are very experienced and knowledgeable dentists. And their hygienist and office staff are equally talented and impressive. I have used this practice for several years and am pleased with every aspect of the business--from making appointments, to the quality of the care I receive, to paying bills.
