Dr. Nima Raoufinia grew up in Northern VA where he attended George Mason University for his undergraduate studies in Biology. Dr. Raoufinia continued his educational career at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Physiology before pursuing a career in dentistry. Dr. Raoufinias passion for helping others and love of community service led him to pursue a career in dentistry at Howard University College of Dentistry. Dr. Raoufinia has dedicated himself to a lifetime of learning and actively pursues Continuing Educational courses throughout the year.
Dr. Raoufina is a firm believer of spending time withhis patients and addressing their chief concerns with the simple goal of giving every patient a beautiful healthy smile. As Dr. Raoufinia often says an informed patient is a healthy patient and by talking through all treatment options with his patients, he is able to address their needs and concerns.
You can always count on Dr. Raoufinia doing what he can to help you achieve your dental goals. His philosophy is to provide highly skilled dental care with compassion and a comforting approach to ensure every member of your family has a safe and excellent experience.
Dr. Raoufinia is also a firm believer in community service and giving back. He has been involved with an instrumental non-profit dental organization providing care to under-served children and young adults in Washington DC (Ward 4 and 7) since 2014.
Dr. Mitra Davaninejad grew up in Germantown MD and attended University of Maryland College Park for her undergraduate studies in Biology. She continued her educational career and received two Masters from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Biotechnology and Regulatory Affairs.
Dr. Davaninejads passion and drive to serve the community lead her to pursue a career in dentistry and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Maryland School of Dentistry, graduating with numerous Honors and Academic Awards. Dr. Davaninejad believes education never stops and routinely takes extensive Continuing Educational courses.
Danni is a Registered Dental Hygienist with many years of experience in dental hygiene . She is always eager in provide excellent patient care to our amazing patients in Silver Spring Maryland. She believes that patient education is key to maintaining a patients oral and systemic health.
Saji is a Registered Dental Hygienist, graduating top in her class (2017) . Saji is compassionate and ensures a positive dental experience. She also believes that patient education is key to maintaining a patients oral and systemic health.
My journey in the dental field started in 1994 as a patient, turned front desk and then manager. I have made so many friends over the year and look forward to making many more. When I am not in the office I love to travel and hang out with my two little princesses. I also love to decorate and cook!! Unfortunately I am a Patriots fan so you know where I am from!
Sandra is our friendly dental assistant who joined our team in 2018 with over 10 years of prior experience. She is fully versed in all aspects of dental assisting. She is also very friendly and will make sure you are comfortable during your visit.

This was my first visit. From the front desk staff, Maria and Roxy to the dental hygienist, Saji and Dr. Raoufinia everyone was friendly and helpful. The cleaning was done painless, with care & patience. Feedbacks were given by Saji and Dr. Raoufinia as we went through the appointment so I always felt informed. I feel great after my visits! Thank you for your attentive care, professionalism & wonderful service! Overall - excellent experience and one I will share with many.

I continue to come to SSCD because the staff, the hygienist as well as the Dentist are professional, kind and very knowledgeable. The office is clean, and the technology is ultra-modern. You feel safe with the precautions they take. It's always a pleasure to go there, considering you are going to the Dentist--a must do activity.

I feel one's care is individualized and Dr. Nima Raoufinia embodies this concept in his practice. I am very grateful he was recommended to me. My care has been exceptional. You cannot mention a wonderful provider without giving praise to the team. I consider Roxanne and Maria as the front line navigators to support one's care. I love their personalities and professionalism. Saundra assists Dr. Raoufinia in a compassionate and pleasant manner. Danni, Dental Hygienist was just excellent! I also loved the state of the art technology and clean environment. Thank you and I truly hope this team stays together for many years to come!

I feel very lucky to have found this incredible this place, all the staff and dental professional were super kind and very helpful giving me all the info regarding of my Oral Healthcare, insurance, etc. This was my first time visiting Silver Spring Cosmetic Dentist and of course I'm going to recommend this place to my family end friends!

Excellent care from Silver Spring Cosmetic Dentistry. I had concerns about a cavity and some discomfort and Dr. Raoufinia explained everything that I had issues with. He listened and understood my issues and gave me several options for treatment. I've had no discomfort since. I'm very pleased with the service from here. Highly recommend. Friendly and caring staff.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I was nervous going in because of a bad experience with another dentist. When I told the doctor this, he made sure this time was perfect. He explained everything he was doing, and kept checking in to make sure I was still doing well. All of the staff are wonderful too!

Just went for a cleaning - that happened to coincide with the most horrendous gum and tooth pain. The pain started yesterday afternoon (even with repeated brushing, flossing and gargling) and went from mild to nuclear from there! As a continuing patient (see previous review), they fit me in for an assessment of my tooth as well as the cleaning. He and the staff were just as gracious as ever and quickly saw me, treated the pain and likely source of it. He also advised about removing the nearby wisdom tooth in the future - as a possible contributing factor to the irritation of food getting trapped and refusing to dislodge. I have never been so grateful to have a Dentist like Dr. Nima Raoufinia :) In my distress he gave me a tip he'd gotten from another patient (yes, he listens to his patients) with the caveat that there's no scientific evidence behind it. Guess what? It worked!!! The pain instantly diminished. Not with pain meds or injections, but with hot liquid (coffee for me). So in addition to treating the affected area with irrigation, a medicinal rinse and drug injection, he shared some knowledge that might (AND DID) alleviate the pain that neither ice nor any other treatment could. Love him and the staff!!
