Dr. Theresa Snell grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and lived in Seattle, Washington before relocating to Minnesota. One of the highly skilled dentists here at Silver Lake Dental, she enjoys practicing cosmetic dentistry and making patients smile. Minneapolis is a wonderful place to raise a family, and Dr. Snell, with her husband and their two daughters, enjoy all the outdoor activities in the area.

I feel fortunate to have relocated to Minnesota, the place my parents were raised and extended family reside. It has enabled me to practice dentistry the way I have always dreamed, in a beautiful community in which I live, with family nearby.

Dr. Joseph Fink is from Mankato, MN and attended Saint Johns University, receiving a degree in biology, and the University of Minnesota for dental school. Dr. Joe has a history of dentistry in the family and is following in his grandfathers footsteps. Outside of the office, he is an avid Minnesota sports fan and is always cheering on the Gophers, Vikings, Twins, and Johnnies!. Dr. Joe also enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his fiance Abby. Skiing, camping, hiking, and lake time are a few favorite activities!

Amy has been with Silver Lake Dental since 2005. Amy started in the dental field in 1999, she was a dental assistant prior to completing her degree in dental hygiene. Amys background includes working in general dental practices as well as offices with a cosmetic focus. After a visit with Amy, you will realize that her love of the dental world focuses on prevention. Amy has two children and a dog. Amy and her family enjoy many outdoor activities, the kids sporting events, and quiet time inside. She has volunteered twice with Smile Island Style on St. Paul Island, Alaska. Amys future goals include improving on and learning what can be done to better the experience for her patients, continuing her education, and always enjoying what she is doing.

Zoe has always wanted to be a Dental Hygienist all of her life! She studied at RCTC in Rochester and graduated in 2018. Zoe joined Silver Lake Dental in 2019. Having the ability to educate and help patients increase their oral health is of the utmost importance for her. Zoe loves creating the best dental experience for all of her patients by going above and beyond for them. Zoe lives in New Brighton with her cat Oliver James. She loves animals! When Zoe is not at work, she likes to spend time with her family and friends. She likes to go to wineries, try new restaurants and cuddle up with a warm blanket.

Carol has been with Silver Lake Dental since 2018. Carol grew up in the North Metro area and has been practicing dental hygiene for over twenty years. Outside of work, her passions include yoga, live music, and cheering on her daughter at her sporting events!

Carrie joined our team in 2018. She has many years of experience in the dental field. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, she is a huge sports fan and has two grown children. She grew up in Circle Pines, Minnesota. Her favorite part of being a dental assistant is the variety of treatment she gets to assist her doctors with.

Andrea graduated from Herzing University in 2010 as a Dental Assistant and joined the Silver Lake Dental Team in 2015. Andrea grew up in Mounds View. She enjoys baking, traveling, rollerblading, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.

Registered Dental Assistant Amanda graduated from Herzing in 2005 starting her dental career in November of 2005. She joined the Silver Lake Dental team in March of 2019. Amanda loves to lift weights, go to the dog park with her dog Ted, read books with her son Quincy, and brew kombucha.

Brooklyn graduated from Herzing University in 2006 and has been working as a Registered Dental Assistant. Brooklyn enjoys the variety of dental assisting and the up-and-coming technique in the dental world and she also loves meeting new patients. In her spare time, she loves being with her family, working out, being creative, and trying new things! Brooklyn joined our team in September of 2018.

Nicky has been in the dental field for over 15 years! She joined our team in November 2019. Nicky enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, family and watching the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Vikings!

Allie lives in Isanti on a hobby farm that is home to her 2 dogs, chickens, and a future home for her 2 horses. She enjoys spending time riding competitively and weekends camping and trail riding with friends. She enjoys early mornings with a good cup of coffee and a book. She is very family-oriented, and often looks forward to the holiday season making memories and following various traditions

Dental technology has improved the way dentists practice their craft. Thanks to science, modern techniques allow patients to receive dental treatment without the pain and time associated with old-fashioned dentistry. Dental technology is even being developed to make dental X-rays safer and more convenient. With digital radiography, your dentist inserts a sensor into themouth to capture images of your teeth but thats where the similarities between conventional and digital dental X-rays end. Although it resembles the film used for bitewings and other X-rays, the digital sensor is electronic and connected to a computer. Once the X-ray is taken, the image is projected on a screen for your dentist to view. There are several benefits to using digital radiography over traditional film X-rays:

Remineralization is a good option to address demineralized teeth or fluorosis, the white spots on your teeth. This is a painless procedure that requires no drilling or removal of tooth structure. We will take an impression of your teeth to make clear custom dental trays. Your teeth will be then be prepared and cleaned and a solution of MI Paste will be placed on your teeth. You will leave our office that day wearing your clear custom dental trays. This will need to be worn for at least an hour to ensure the MI Paste stays in place over your teeth. The MI Paste will need to be placed on your teeth again at bedtime after your normal routine of brushing and flossing and you will wear the trays over night to ensure maximum exposure with the MI Paste. This will be done nightly over the course of a few weeks and will involve another visit or two to our office to track your progress. You may then choose to whiten your teeth after the remineralization process is finished and can use your new custom trays for this.
