Eric R. Copes, D.M.D.Dr. Copes was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Majoring in General Science, he received his undergraduate degree from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Copes graduated from the Temple University School of Dentistry. He completed his post-graduate specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children.
In 2009 Dr. Copes relocated to Delaware and founded Silly Smiles Pediatric Dentistry a year later. Dr. Copes philosophy is to make the dental visit for the children fun but productive. Silly Smiles is focused on prevention by both educating the Patient and Parent.

Take both my kids here. Great experience for both. The staff are friendly and helpful. The office is very clean with appropriate decor for children.

Wouldn't recommend & never going back. After having our first appointment canceled & rescheduled 6 months later not only was the dentist 20 minutes late this morning but rude and inconsiderate. I guess today he forgot he was dealing with a 6 year old child instead of an adult. Not sure how that would be hard to forget when your business is catered to children. As my son started to gag & cough while having his teeth flossed he was told very ignorantly "DO NOT COUGH ON ME". Take your business elsewhere.

We just left my son's cleaning appointment and both my son and I are in tears from the way we were treated. The doctor got upset with my son halfway through the cleaning and refused to continue. My 10 year old son said he was scared. He wasn't talking back or being rude and the doctor was calling him oppositional. He was having a hard time following the doctor's instructions with keeping his tongue down because of being scared. All this happened in his open office in front of other patients. He basically told us to go to another dental office. We came here because he was supposed to have a reputation of handling scared and more difficult children. In the beginning, he was great with my son. The doctor lost his patience. Unless you have perfect child I wouldn't recommend going here.

Spent almost an hour with my kid just waiting them to get through insurance information. Why didn't call us before we came here? We were sent back without doing anything. It's a huge disappointment.

Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Dr. Eric and his hi Janice are friendly and very easy to work with. They kept my son calm, worked at his speed and did an excellent job even with my son needing to fillings.

I had to immediately come on here and write a review because of the AMAZING service my daughter received at Silly Smiles. What originally brought us to Dr. Eric was a recommendation from a friend because I had such a horrible experience at Wild Smiles in Christiana. The entire staff was warm and PATIENT (unlike the other dentist office) with my nervous 4 year old. They took their time with her because she was so timid and never once made her feel like they were annoyed. And when it came time to do her procedure, they scheduled her within 4 days of her initial visit. Dr. Eric was wonderful with her. My daughter was very scared and teary eyed but he remained kind and gentle and spoke to her nicely and reassured her, and again, just so patient. I was SO happy. My daughter wasn't even experiencing any pain afterwards, it's Day 5 after the procedure today and we couldn't be happier with how things are healing and looking! So glad I switched to this wonderful dentist office. Parents, beware of Dr. Jay at Wild Smiles, he's awful. Don't believe me? Check out other reviews about him on here and Facebook.
