Tooth decay chaser by day, hot dog eating champion by night. A native Southern Californian, Lawrence started as a dental hygienist and then earned his dental degree from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry. Following dental school, after having watched Top Gun way too many times, Lawrence served our country in the US Navy for four years, including two years overseas in Japan.Inspired by Silicon Beach companies and startups, Lawrence has chosen to open his own dental practice with the same mission: to think differently, and to always challenge the status quo.
Dr Shahira, a native of Scottsdale, Arizona, is a triple Bruin having received her undergraduate, dental degree and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at UCLA. In her AEGD program, she focused on proficiency in cosmetic smile design, implant placement and advanced conservative restorations.
She continues to keep her training and knowledge up to date by taking numerous continuing education courses in cosmetic and implant dentistry. When she isnt practicing dentistry you can find her lounging on the beach, planning her next travel destination, refining a new recipe (dairy-free of course), binge watching reality tv with her cat, and Soul Cycling.
As a California native, Leila was born and raised here in Los Angeles. Called by the beaches, she ventured out to UC Santa Barbara, where she received her Bachelors in Biopsychology. She continued her education at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, where she received her DDS degree. During her time in dental school, Leila was heavily involved in community dentistry, and travelled throughout California and overseas to provide dental care to underserved communities.

Before SiliconBeach.Dental, I did not consistently see a dentist and my oral care suffered. I just didn't feel comfortable with any of the dentists I've seen in the past. Dr. Fung and his team make going in for cleanings and checkups actually enjoyable. It's an hour for me to relax and watch Netflix while I get my cleaning done. I do have a very small mouth and their team works with it. But the biggest difference is that I don't feel shamed for not having the best teeth. I don't get upsold into cosmetic treatments like whitening or veneers, but I know they are available if I want them. Because I'm comfortable with the office, I happily go in for routine cleaning and checkups. My teeth and gums have steadily improved and each checkup is quick and fast. A quick cleaning, X-rays once a year, visual checks by Dr. Fung, and I'm done. Their goody bags are also fantastic! The travel size Hello toothpaste and Coco Floss are great to have in my bag! They also don't shame their patients for eating candy and had a bowl of good candy for Halloween at the front desk!

Tried to get an appointment for about a year for regular cleaning and couldn't get one! Even when I got an appointment, took off hours from work and showed up...they didn't honor my appointment! Don't be fooled, just like any dentist around - they will over bill you, your insurance and prefer unnecessary expensive procedures. It appears general dental care is not on their list of services. You also have to pay for parking. Search hard and get another dentist. You will be ripped off! PS: This review has nothing to do with the military! Additionally, despite my confirmation of a dental appointment it was not honored. Lastly, on occasions...I was coerced to getting a dental bone graft procedure or deep cleaning which I didn't need I know a PR statement when I see it

I just got an onlay on a back molar. Great experience - didn't hurt when there putting it on, didn't hurt when the novocaine wore off and my bite feels perfect. I can't really tell the difference between the onlay and original tooth.

I've been a patient here for over a year and truly look forward to every visit. Dr. Fung is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and lays out the expectations in such a clear manner. The office uses the latest technology and truly exceed any expectations I have. Highly recommend to anyone. -------- **updated review 9.29 2022 : Just got 2 veneers placed at Fung's yesterday, process was easy and flawless, felt no pain and look fantastic. Feel extremely lucky to have met Dr. Fung and I travel 100 miles roundtrip just to see him. Worth every penny.

The staff is not only friendly but also very professional. Every effort was made to insure my comfort and address my needs. I felt that the best information was shared with me by the staff and the doctor, and that I was an active participant in my care and subsequent decision making regarding treatment. I will be back!

Dr. Fung and his staff is top notch. I was terrified of the dentist due previous bad experiences with other dentists. Dr. Fung skills and demeanor has now erased that fear. I highly recommend Silicon Beach Dental!

Visiting the dentist usually conjures anxious feelings, however, a visit to Silicon Beach Dental is made so relaxing by the wonderful team of health care workers! The staff explains all of the procedures in easy-to-comprehend language. The facilities are very clean and organized. Give them a call for your dental needs, you won't regret it!

My first visit here was wonderful. The team was efficient and professional while being kind. I have sensitive teeth so they slowed down the water pic so there was no irritation. Considering that I had not been to a dentist since pre-COVID, the visit was exceptionally well done with X-rays, photos, gum depth, teeth cleaning, and fluoride paint all being done in a little over an hour. The facility has a beautiful design aesthetic with some lovely pop art in the lobby. I'm so grateful I was referred here and am excited to have such excellent dental support so close to my Culver City home.
