Amir HagShenas, DDS, is an implant dentist who brings more than 20 years of experience to Silicon Valley Smile Solutions, serving adults living in San Jose, California, and throughout Santa Clara County.
Dr. HagShenas began his professional education at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. HagShenas subsequently completed a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, followed by post-graduate training at the Foundation of Advanced Continuing Education (FACE) Institute in Saratoga, California.
Dr. HagShenas believes patient relationships come first. He makes time to meet with each individual and designs comprehensive care plans that encourage long-term oral health. Dr. HagShenass commitment to high-quality care hasnt gone unnoticed, and he even received the Irwin A. Epstein Award from the University of Minnesota for Excellence in Endodontics.
Adults can access a variety of oral health services, including cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, implant support teeth, and dentures. Dr. HagShenas and the team also offer root canals, sedation dentistry, and tooth extractions.
When Dr. HagShenas isnt working with patients, he enjoys continuing education and spending time with his family. Dr. HagShenas is a devoted husband and a proud father of two. He enjoys playing tennis, soccer, and golf and loves rooting for local professional teams, including the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, and the San Jose Sharks.
Dentistry is more than a career to me! I am as passionate about what I do today as I was over 20 years ago. I feel quite fortunate to be able to come to work every day, and be surrounded by wonderful teammates, and do what I love and do best on people whom I enjoy. Ive really got it made! I received my D.D.S. (Doctorate in Dental Surgery) degree from the University of Minnesota in 1991. Several years later, I received my fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. As part of my post-graduate training, I graduated from the renowned Foundation of Advanced Continuing Education (FACE) Institute, where I have refined some of my comprehensive restorative dentistry as well as bite therapy techniques. I have been the recipient of the Irwin A. Epstein Award from the University of Minnesota, for Excellence in Endodontics.
I have been living in Silicon Valley, in the South Bay Area for decades, and love spending time with my immediate and extended family. I am a devoted husband, and a proud father to two fantastic children. For my hobbies, I have enjoyed my favorite game of soccer for about 42 years now, and still enjoy it as often as my work and family responsibilities allow! I do enjoy playing tennis, and occasionally play golf. I have a lot of fun following my local pro-sports teams of Los Gatos Sharks and Earthquakes, San Francisco Giants and 49ers, and my Golden State Warriors. Playing piano and hiking are also among my personal favorites. I enjoy being involved with the local Silicon Valley community, and take pride in working with those individuals who help build and strengthen our community.

I was reminded once again that I go to the best dentist office in Silicon Valley. Dr. HagShenas and all of his staff are all caring, friendly, warm, helpful and go above and beyond to insure that their patients get the best service ever. I Has a tooth removed yesterday.. no pain whatsoever.. Dentist Amir is the best.. I highly recommend him..I been to many dentist.. And he does exceptionally good work on teeth.. All His staff are very respectful and very helpful too...

I came hear for a consultation in mid November.. I have double wisdom teeth and needed 8 pulled... the consultation went great so I thought. During the consultation I made it very very clear im afraid of dental work and would like to not feel a thing or see a thing or hear a thing during my wisdom teeth removal.. this was my 3rd opinion and the 2 previous both insisted I get put under general anesthesia and they explained it to me... silican valley smiles enformed me I would be under sedation.. but what they didn't tell me was what kind.. I thought we were both on the same page and GENERAL ANESTHESIA would be used... my appointment was for Jan 12 2021.. day prior I called to just get a lil more info..and im told I actually will just get a pill and I won't get general anesthesia this is the 1st time I'm being told this 24 hours before my actual appointment. the pill is bacically Conscious sedation EXACTLY WHAT I DIDNT WANT !!!!... That night before my apointment I pondered it over and I mentally desided to reschedule and do it the way I wanted with general anesthesia.. let me just say this, a Dr is suppose to make ya feel comfortable and ya suppose to feel good and worry free.. after trying to reschedule I got a very very very unprofessional text from them.... to the staff ...take the time to explain peoples options !!!!.. tell them the difference between general anesthesia..local anesthesia.. and conscious sedation... the best part was this.. they messed up and would not let me rebook another appointment unless I paid in full prior... thats right they wanted me to pay fully prior cause they didn't disclose to me the proper info.. had ya told me during my consultation it was gonna be a pill I would have stopped and said that's not gonna work for me and we could have got it right then and there.... long story short what a compleate waste of my time that was.. instead of being done with this and having my teeth removed and healing... im back to square one... again to the people at this office please go over everything with people and give them there options dont just pick conscious sedation for people.. again that text is extreamly unprofessional

The moment you enter the office of Dr. HagShenas at the Silicon Valley Smile Solutions his lovely staff greets you with a warm smile and makes you feel less anxious about seeing a dentist. The entire staff of the SVSS is highly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly; That makes it so much easier to keep coming here again. Starting from Gina, the most professional hygienist I have ever had, to Dr. HagShenas himself, who was kind enough to see me for an emergency root canal extraction on his day off, this business is an epitome of caring and passionate professionals who are always willing to go out of their way to accommodate their patients' needs.

The best dentist I have ever run across, this entire office is a gold mine for a find. If you ever have the chance to use SVSS you will wonder how you ever went to another dentist. The staff is helpful, friendly and kind. They are willing to work with you to get the results you are looking for. They unlike other dentist care about pain management. An example with any of my other dentists I would mention that I can feel some pain, they would respond with "Well we are almost done" or "Nothing we can do". At SVSS they stop and take care of ME as a patient, then continue on. The work and results attained by Dr. HagShenas is nothing less then stunning. He spends the time to make sure he does it RIGHT, there is no shortcuts with him. He is well studied and caring for his patients and it shows with his chair side manner. THEY ARE AWESOME!

I felt super comfortable here as they take safety precautions very seriously. Beyond that, the staff is warm and welcoming. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Prior to my visit I was very nervous, I knew that during the Pandemic I began to self soothe and gained some bad habits...like neglecting my teeth. My fear was that I'd hear about everything I did wrong and how bad it left my teeth. My worry was pointless and unnecessary Dr. Amir HagShenas, DDS and staff were so kind and attentive a felt for the first time in month's as an essential worker someone was actually willing to care for me and my needs for a change. There aren't enough stars I can give.

Dr HagShenas and his staff are the friendliest, most caring and professional people! Twice now I've had to make a same day appt for toothaches and they always find a way to squeeze me in. They never make me feel rushed, are extremely kind and answer all my questions - truly fun to be around. Although it's a half hour away, I will not change dentists because of the wonderful care I receive there. Highly recommend!
