When I started Silcox Orthodontics, I took creating a logo seriously. Life had recently dealt us some major health challenges. Six months before I was to finish my residency, I was diagnosed with a rare type of blood cancer called Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). After chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and a lot of medical support, I have been given the gift of a second chance and a new perspective. I found it only fitting that the mantra I would adopt for our office would be, Smile, Life is Good. I really believe that it is.

I graduated Magna Cum Laud from Brigham Young University and was the Senior Student of the Year in my college. I attendeddental school at theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill which is consistently rankedone of the top 5 dental schools in the countryand graduated in the top 5%of my dental school class. While in dental school I fell in love with the orthodontic profession and was acceptedinto UNCs prestigious three-year orthodontic residency program.I studied under the best of the best,even William Proffit,the father of modernorthodontics. In 2007 I receivedmy Masters degree in Orthodontics and Oral Biology at UNC. After myresidency, I taught in the UNC Orthodontic department as adjunct faculty. I enjoyed my years of training, but the most rewarding part of my career has been taking that knowledge and transforming peoples smiles and the way they feel about themselves.

I am the lucky one who gets to be in every initial exam with Dr. Silcox and our patients. I love watching the process from starting orthodontics to final records. Seeing how much our services change our patients and their smiles is the most rewarding part of my job. Dr. Silcox is great to work with. Add my coworkers in the mix, and it truly feels like family. When Im not in the office I like to be outdoors with my family. In the winter youll find me strapping on skis or a snowboard. In the summer its time to hike and camp. I also enjoy cheering on my girls at the BMX track.
I moved to Utah over a year ago and not only did I land the perfect job I also met my husband. Life has been good since working for Dr. Silcox! I work with patients and try to find a time that works best for every schedule. I love the fun environment I work in as well as meeting our patients and their families.
Ive worked in many offices, but I have to say Dr. Silcox is my favorite boss. The staff is also amazing. My job is to make sure every patient receives the maximum insurance benefit possible as well as ensure payments work within every budget. Our patients are the best!
I hold the record of the longest employee at Silcox Orthodontics and have been with Dr. Silcox since his first day in private practice. I love my job and our patients. When patients need pictures, records, molds, or retainers, Im here to help.
On my days off life is busy with grandchildren. Mine really are the cutest. (Im not biased at all!) I also enjoy spin classes and lifting at the gym. Exercise is important to me. Lucky thing I consider all the walking while I shop a form of exercise.
Even though my New Zealand accent is a bit strong, everyone seems to understand me except when Im talking about the shed (garage), the rubbish (trash) or the bonnet (hood of the car.) I have worked for Dr. Silcox for over five years and our office feels like family. I love seeing the end results of our efforts. From adults to kids, every time braces come off a little something magical happens when our patients smile.
Outside of the office I love to spend time with my family, especially with my granddaughter. Gardening and home projects keep me busy, but whenever possible our family likes to get away and enjoy time at the beach. If the beach is in New Zealand it is even better.
I enjoy working at Silcox Orthodontics so much I have had multiple job titles. I was the scheduling coordinator for four years before jumping to the back as an assistant. My colleagues are great and Dr. Silcox is always one to tease.
My passion outside the office is photography. I love capturing moments with my friends, family, and the outdoors. I also love to travel anddiscover small details of countries I have fallen in love with. I just went to Europe and the streets, doors, shops, bicycles, people and architecture of Prague were my favorites!
I had a lot of changes this summer and top on the list was a new job and becoming a newlywed! Both have been awesome. I cant believe how fast the days go, and I love working with our patients. Getting to know them and watching the changes that occur has been awesome.
When Im home I love to watch follow my favorite TV shows: The Bachelor, The Voice, and Suits. I also love to be creative and make wall dcor. If Im going out of the house I enjoy working out at the gym and eating. I could eat Caf Rio every day!
