I feel extremely blessed to be part of the orthodontic profession and absolutely love what I do. I enjoy having the opportunity to work with so many different people with varied backgrounds and interests. Its exciting to get to know each patient personally, and see how they grow and change over the course of our time together.

A beautiful smile is truly life-changing and a major self-confidence booster. I love having the opportunity to be a part of creating that perfect smile for each one of our patients. The experience is very rewarding, both personally and professionally.

It is essential that my patients receive the highest quality of care possible, and I strive to achieve this by keeping current on the latest advances in orthodontics, including new technologies, materials, and treatment philosophies. I regularly attend continuing education courses offered through various professional organizations, and participate in meetings, conferences, lectures, and hands-on demonstrations, as well as staying up to date on the latest orthodontic literature.

I grew up in Parkton, NC, and spent several years in Chapel Hill for school before making the move to Wilson two years ago. I quickly fell in love with the people and the town here and look forward to many more years to come. I have a wonderful extended family down in Fayetteville and great friends that I enjoy spending time with, but my adorable dog, Oreo, keeps me busy most of the time.

My personal interests include movies, kayaking, and line dancing with the awesome group at the Wilson YMCA. However, my biggest passions are traveling and music of all types. I played trombone in a variety of groups as an undergraduate at UNC and I'm still a hard core Tar Heel fan. I was lucky enough to be there for two national basketball championships and loved every minute of it!

I enjoy working with and getting to know each of our patients and their families. Being in orthodontics means each day Im surrounded by smiles, and I love watching those smiles being created! Ive been involved in the dental and orthodontic field for more than ten years and am passionate about my job, as are my team members here at Signature Smiles Orthodontics. We are great together, because were all focused on delivering amazing, personalized care to each person.

I was born in Colorado Springs, CO, raised in Rocky Mount and now live in Nashville with my family. Im the mother of two wonderful boys who stole my heart from birth and keep me on my toes 24/7. When Im not at the office, Im likely with my sons, and enjoying time outside or at the beach. My greatest passion and hobby is photography.

Its amazing to watch the changes that happen in our patients over the course of treatment. In orthodontics, we see patients every month for about two years, so we get to know them and develop friendships with them. Ive worked in the dental field for more than 50 years, starting as a dental assistant and then becoming office manager and treatment coordinator. I oversee all aspects of the practice and work directly with patients and parents to make scheduling and coordination a smooth process. I ensure that everyone receives great, personalized care and attention, at each visit.

I grew up in Greene County and have lived in Wilson for almost 50 years. I love spending time with my three grandchildren and my two sweet dogs, Nelly and Peanut. They definitely keep me busy and on the go!

I love people, especially children, and I enjoy making everyone smile. Working in our practice allows me to do just that. I really like coaxing a smile out of a shy patient, and encouraging them to open up and enjoy their orthodontic experience, from their first visit until the day their braces come off. Before entering the orthodontic field, I worked in property management and real estate for 25 years. However, after wearing braces in my youth and being thrilled with the experience and the results, I wanted to assist others to achieve the same feeling. I made the decision to go back to school and become a dental assistant; its the best decision Ive ever made!

Im a lifetime resident of Wilson, and have two children, Taylor and Turner. Im active in several community organizations, including West Nash United Methodist Church, the Wilson Board of Realtors, and The Bennett Optimist Club. I enjoy cooking, traveling, music, going to the beach, and being with family.

Having worked in both general and pediatric dentistry, I must say I really like being in orthodontics. Playing a role in creating smiles, and knowing that the person will have a healthier, happier life, is a wonderful feeling. I love that we see our patients and their families so often and were able to get to know them as individuals. We look forward to their visits because well hear the latest news about their adventures and plans. Its important that each person we care for knows that not only are they in excellent hands, but that we genuinely want to make their treatment experience positive, so I do my best to make sure that message comes across.

Im originally from Mexico, am married, and have two wonderful children who bring much joy into my life. When Im not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends and I'm also a passionate reader.

Its so rewarding to see the positive changes in our patients as they move through their treatment. Knowing weve helped someone feel more confident about their appearance, and how that carries over into their day-to-day life because they know they have a beautiful smile, is a great feeling. I am always fascinated to watch the physical and emotional transformations that happen in a person as their new smile is created. They start to walk with their head up and smile without covering their mouth, and they laugh more, too. I will never tire of being part of that process!

I love making people smile, and I love my job. Here, each patient comes to us with dreams of straight, healthy teeth and a beautiful smile, and we make that happen, using personal treatment plans and finding options that work for them. Being in orthodontics means I get to know each patient as a person, and I love learning about their lives and interests. The day that the braces come off and the patient cant stop looking at their new smile, our whole team is smiling and laughing right along with them, because were happy to have been part of that process.

I have lived in Rocky Mount for most of my life. In my spare time, youll find me riding my motorcycle and being with friends and family. I have five dogs who I love to pieces and who keep me busy and entertained.

At Signature Smiles Orthodontics, Dr. Crystal Coxand our team will provide you and your family with a great orthodontic experience and a beautiful, lasting smile. From start to finish, were committed to delivering gentle, effective care that will improve your oral health, straighten your teeth, and create an amazing smile, just for you.

Here, we understand the importance of developing a relationship with you and learning about your treatment needs and goals before we design your customized treatment plan. Its essential that we get to know you so we are able to identify the treatment process that works for your lifestyle and provides you with the care experience you desire.

One of the first things youll notice when you walk into our office is the number of smiles from our other patients and our team members. We love our work and we care about our patients; we look forward to their visits as a chance to catch up on their latest news and adventures. Likewise, our patients tell us they love coming to see us, and thats evident because of how they arrive bursting with stories about their latest successes in school or at work. Theres also a lot of laughter here, as well, because we trade jokes and kid around with our patients.

For most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If you're self-conscious about your smile, correcting your concerns with braces will greatly improve the way you look and feel.

When your treatment is complete, you will have the smile you've always dreamed of and the confidence to show it off! We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
