Howard Sommers, DDS, D-ABDSM along with his full-service dental business has been thriving in Phoenix, AZ since 1995. Prior, he established a general dental practice in New York, NY, building a loyal clientele for 13 years. Dr. Sommers financed his goals, with his employment as an ironworker while attending University. Hes proud of America and is honored to be part of the team that built the World Trade Center. The doctor credits NYCs diversity for shaping his progressive approach to dental care.
Dr. Sommers attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook on a Regents Scholarship. His passion for learning continued as he graduated with honors and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He went on to earn his degree at New York Universitys College of Dentistry and opened his dental office in NYC. His devotion to dental care led him to deepen his knowledge at Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he engaged in a year-long periodontal program. In addition, Dr. Sommers is educated by Mid Continent Orthodontics in Tip-Edge Orthodontics; as well as certified in IV Sedation by Oregon Health and Science University. He has been a member of the American Academy of Periodontics, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Sommers unique range of experience and education results in patients enjoying the ultimate in modern, specialized care. Nearly three decades of being in successful practice, while persistently staying on top of innovation has earned him an expansive perspective on long-term dental care. He profoundly understands that the senior population is sensitive to diminished immunity, health conditions, and adverse side effects of medications. His customized approach to treating seniors meets their individual needs in a relaxed, pleasant environment.
Dr. Augustine specializes in periodontics and implant dentistry. He has been serving patients in Phoenix since 2000. He earned his doctorate in dentistry and a masters degree in periodontal surgery from The Ohio State University. Dr. Augustine performs a wide range of non-surgical, laser assisted and surgical treatments for the management of gum disease. He has devoted his professional career to battling oral diseases. His patients benefit from his extensive training in cosmetic gum procedures and advanced tooth replacement, featuring surgical implant dentistry. A leader in these areas, he regularly lectures on these topics and holds a position on several scientific advisory boards. Dr. Augustine maintains an active membership in numerous dental organizations. As an associate professor, he taught from 2007-2011 at Midwestern College of Dental Medicine.
While dedicating his professional life to the ethical care of patients, Dr. Augustine observed a gap in the quality and consistency of dental care for our aging population. He envisions bringing ideal health care to individuals, in an environment that is convenient and comfortable. My fear of the dentist kept me away for over 10 years. I felt such shame and embarrassment that I let my mouth get as bad as it has, yet Dr. Sommers and his ENTIRE staff have been nothing but kind, caring, and gentle as they have worked to correct my myriad of issues. Karen in the front is so warm and reassuring, and dental hygienist Diana is so sweet and has completely painless cleanings. I wish I had found this office earlier as they have made my fear of the dentist and cleanings go away.

I received an appliance regarding my snoring/sleep apnea and it has been working fantastic. It is very non invasive and I hardly noticed it the first night and got used to the appliance within days. I now hardly ever wake up during the night and no longer get that feeling of wanting an afternoon nap. The appliance has worked better than hoped for. If not for the display unit and Karen being so helpful about the appliance I may never have pursued improving my sleep. How foundational this will be for my health. Quality sleep improvement.

Dr Sommers capped all my teeth (except the molars) beautifully 5 years ago, which not only make me look much better but also stopped all the dental problems I was having, as he said you be the case. Outstanding work. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Wonderful experience! Karen at the desk greeted us by name and had already done everything needed for insurance. Diana was patient, kind, and funny, and treated my son with compassion and respect. Dr. Sommers was very friendly and informative. The interaction between staff was very kind and respectful...that says so much!

Worst experience I ever had, The screw up billing and took weeks to fix it. The made me feel like it was my fault.Whole staff was rude and unwilling to help, including the doctor. Whole office looks dated and not very clean. I would never go back. One start is too much for this office.

I have finally found the right dentist!!! Everyone is wonderful and you can tell that they work as a team and truly care for the client as evidenced by their actions and vibes within the atmosphere. The first person one meets sets the first impression and is so vital - Karen is phenomenal!!! Dr. Sommers is incredible, genuine and took the time to explain current concerns and treatment modalities!!! My teeth cleaning was the best and not a "rush job!" Unfortunately, I can't remember both their names... but highly recommended them as well this practice!!! Bob
