The mission of CCHCI is founded on the absolute certainly that all individuals are worthwhile and important, regardless of their ability to pay, their background, their beliefs, their identification, or their path. Healthcare for all means my purpose every day is to try to make each person's experience a little easier in whatever way I am able. This positive and nurturing effect is compounded because every person who works at CCHCI is invested in this same principle to build a healthcare system around a community so that we are only doing well when our community is doing well.

I believe in Health For All because as a Christian, I strive to follow Christ's example and teachings in how I think about, speak about, speak to, and treat others. I strive to treat others as I would want to be treated. I strive to treat others with dignity and respect. I fall short, but those are my ideals. I have lived in several countries. I am fluent in Spanish. I hope I have developed greater compassion for people from many different backgrounds.

My interest in medicine first started when I was volunteering for a clinic that was strictly for those without insurance and mostly Spanish speaking patients. Since that time, I have felt deeply compelled to serve this population and so CCHCI fits that mission perfectly. Medicine is so complex and the socioeconomic difficulties of so many adds to this complexity and I am happy to help in this capacity while also working on the border, which has also been a goal of mine since starting my path in medicine.

I believe in the mission of CCHCI because it helps make Cochise County a better and stronger place to live. One of the foundations of a stronger community is access to health care. Denying access to quality care to any member of a community hurts everyone.

I believe that quality and affordable healthcare should be available to anyone who wants it. Community Health Centers help to make that possible. Interacting with the interesting and varied people of Cochise County has helped me to grow both personally and professionally.

Childrens Health Fund (CHF) Childrens Health Fund (CHF), co-founded in 1987 by singer/songwriter Paul Simon and pediatrician/child advocate Irwin Redlener, MD, is committed to providing healthcare to the nations most medically underserved children. Arizona Alliance of Community Health Centers (AACHC) The Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers (AACHC) is the Primary Care Association (PCA) for the State of Arizona. All states have one designated PCA to advance the expansion of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and advocate for the health care interests of the medically underserved and uninsured. Women Infants Children Program (WIC) The Arizona Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides nutrition education and breastfeeding support services, supplemental nutritious foods, and referrals to health and social services. WIC serves pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women; infants; and children under the age of five who are determined to be at nutritional risk. The WIC Program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture. Healthy Cochise The goal of the Cochise Healthy Communities Initiative is to motivate and guide the very diverse and unique communities within Cochise County to actively participate in identifying and addressing health concerns in their neighborhood, towns and surrounding communities. Reach Out & Read Southern Arizona (ROR) Reach Out and Read Arizona (ROR) was established in 2002 and seeks to prepares Americas youngest children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. Reach Out and Read Arizona trains medical providers to integrate literacy into well child visits by gifting new books to children between the ages of 6 months through 5 years. Douglas Unified School District (DUSD) Douglas Unified School District (DUSD) operates eight schools in the City of Douglas. DUSD believes that through the combined efforts of involved parents, devoted teachers, dedicated staff and administrators, and enthusiastic students, every student can reach his or her highest potential CCHCI Pediatrics collaborates with DUSD in multiple formal and informal ways, from collaboration with school nurses for children with special health care needs to participation in educational sessions. University of Arizona Zuckerman College of Public Health As Arizonas first and only accredited college of public health, the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health offers tremendous opportunities to its students for education, research and community involvement thanks to a locale rich in history, research opportunities, and university academic resources. Mexican Consulate The Ventanilla de Salud is a free program funded by the government of Mexico designed to assist recent immigrants in navigating U.S. health services. The primary goals are to prevent disease, to promote healthy habits and to refer you to health services. Since 2010, the Mexican Consulate has participated with CCHCI in the Ventanilla de Salud program to assist Mexican Citizens in our area to navigate the health services available in our community. ventanillas.org/index.php/en

Adelante Community Health Center Adelante Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center that operates health centers throughout central Arizona, offering a wide array of services to patients of all economic backgrounds. Since 2010, CCHCI and Adelante CHC collaborate to provide screening and treatment services to the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers (MSFW) in the Yuma area. Our MSFW team screens the farmworkers in the fields and refers those needing medical treatment to Sunset CHC for the provision of medical services. www.adelantehealthcare.com

Douglas Association for Retarded Citizens (DARC) Douglas Association for Retarded Citizens (DARC) has provided habilitation, employment, transportation, social integration and residential services for individuals with disabilities living in the Douglas, Arizona area. Since 2011, DARC clients assemble packets that are utilized in our Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers Program, and are financially compensated for their work.

Southeast Arizona Health Education Center (SEAHEC) Since 1985, SEAHEC has been working to expand the reach of health-related services to those places where medical resources are most limited or lacking. SEAHEC helps to strengthen the wellness of rural and medically underserved communities by developing health care providers and health care programs. CCHCI and SEAHEC have collaborated on a project called Healthy Farms since 2011. The project recognizes farms that promote safety for the farm workers and also encourages advocacy efforts and worker safety practices amongst the agricultural community. www.seahec.org

Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) CPLC is the only community development corporation in Arizona that offers extensive services in both urban and rural areas. Its service delivery system is expansive enough to effectively reach thousands of low-income people. In its perpetual drive to provide needed services, CPLC continually assesses the needs of its communities throughout Arizona. Beginning in 2014, the CCHCI dental team is works with Chicanos Por La Causa to provide uninsured children in the Willcox area with dental exams and needed care. www.cplc.org

Canyon Vista Medical Center (CVMC) Formed in 1964, CVMC is Cochise Countys largest and most comprehensive tertiary health center. Beginning in 2014, CVMC has provided space for a CCHCI Outreach & Enrollment Specialist to carry out insurance eligibility, enrollment and referral for uninsured/underinsured patients. https://canyonvistamedicalcenter.com

Douglas Area Food Bank The Douglas Area Food Bank has been a vital part of our community for many years. For many people who are struggling to put food on the table, the emergency food received from the food bank provides the food security needed to make ends meet. The food bank, however, offers many more services than emergency food baskets. Programs and services range from education and advocacy to the delivery of food to the home-bound. Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. has been proud to partner with the Douglas Area Food Bank for over 8 years. We have provided our Outreach Services, weekly, so that preventive health checks are available, free of charge, to those who might not otherwise be screened for chronic diseases.

Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless (BCH) Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless (BCH) operates an emergency shelter just off Highway 92 in Bisbee, Arizona. While the moniker suggests that it serves only those who are homeless, BCH serves anyone who may be in need, offering a wide variety of services. BCH is not just an emergency shelter, but is also a state and county recognized food pantry, as well as a Cochise County certified food kitchen. BCH provides roughly 1800 meals to those in need ranging from hot meals prepared by its staff and volunteers to food bags. https://www.bisbeeshelter.org/

Bisbee Unified School District (BUSD) Bisbee Unified School District #2, governed by a board of 5 elected members, serves approximately 800 students in three schools: Greenway Elementary, Lowell Jr. High, and Bisbee High School. The District is one of the largest employers in Bisbee with approximately 55 teachers, 90 classified support staff, and 6 administrators including 3 principals. Sun Life Family Health Center Sun Life Family Health Center is a not-for-profit organization providing health care to Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Eloy, Coolidge, Florence, Maricopa, Oracle and San Manuel.

Sun Life Family Health Center is Pinal county's largest provider of primary health care services. Governed by a Board of Directors representing the patients and communities served by the organization, Sun Life serves over 41,000 patients, 36% of whom are children. https://www.sunlifefamilyhealth.org/index.php

One-third of all kids show up to start kindergarten with untreated tooth decay. That should soon change thanks to the addition of a Ronald McDonald Care Mobile in Cochise County that will bring dental care directly to children who need it.

The RMCM in Cochise County is a partnership with Chiricahua Community Health Centers Inc. (CCHCI), a federally qualified health center that has been serving Cochise County for 21 years. CCHCI operates seven clinics and five mobile health units. Its goals align with ours helping to improve the health and well-being of children and their families.

This project is now a reality with funding from our global headquarters, which covered the cost of purchasing and outfitting the van. We received additional funding from the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona for dental equipment and supplies, and from Arizona Complete Health for operational costs. RMHC of Southern Arizona is an administrative partner and supports the program financially.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile travels from Douglas to Willcox, visiting schools in high-poverty areas in the Sulphur Springs Valley, bringing critical dental care at no or low cost to pre-school and school-aged children as well as teenagers. Dentists with CCHCI provide important dental screenings, apply fluoride to prevent tooth decay, treat existing dental problems and help educate children and their parents about good oral health. https://rmhctucson.org/
