Dr. Abhijit Gune received his B.D.S (Bachelors in Dental Surgery) from the Bombay University (now known as Mumbai University) in 1997. After earning top honors in Anatomy, Oral Surgery, and Orthodontics, he decided to pursue his Masters in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at SDM College of Dental Sciences, one of the most prestigious educational institutions in India. Dr. Gune received his M.D.S (Masters in Dental Surgery) in 2001 and his D.N.B (Ortho) - Diplomate of National Board, Orthodontics, India in 2003. He immigrated to the United States and received his D.D.S and California Dental License in 2004.
Dr. Gune is married to his beautiful wife and has two amazing children. His wife is an extremely smart Ophthalmologist who serves as a medical director for a successful biopharma company. He has one teenager and one preteen who think they are on their way to become rising YouTube stars :)

I had my sons get braces 5 years ago they were 8 and 11 . I thought this was early but listened to the advice of Dr Gune. Recently I was discussing with my friend about her son who is the same age as my 8 year is. They are both13 now and both had a narrow jaw. I found out that the cost and process was so much worse because she waited 5 years later. Today I am extremely thankful that I was advised to get them early. It was less painful financially and physically. Thank you Dr Gune and the entire team at Sierra Orthodontist.

Nice staff, poor communication. After removing the cement from my teeth with braces removal, the tops of my teeth were essentially ground down without telling me why or even asking for consent. This has caused deep tooth pain and worries me of my future dental health. In addition, I was not alerted when white spots started to form under two sets of wires, which I could not possibly have seen. Had I known my cleaning methods weren't working under the second wire, I could and would have prevented this. Even before treatment, they informed me that braces would be painless, but this was false, and likely only said to convince me to use their services.

This place is AMAZING! We were on our way to the mountains and needed emergency service and they welcomed us with open arms!!!! We tried calling a few other orthodontic offices while on the road and they refused to help us. The staff here is sooooo nice!!!!
