Dr. Peter Kim has been serving the Sacramento community for eight years. Dr. Kim is best known for prioritizing his patients needs and delivering excellent treatment, even on weekends, holidays and after hours in emergency cases. Regardless of the emergency, patients leave knowing they are in the best hands in all of Sacramento. Patients admire Dr. Kims honest, intelligent and precise dentistry. In return, Dr. Kim enjoys forming bonds with the patients we care for.
Having grown up in the heart of the Bay Area, Dr. Kim graduated from University of California, Berkeley, followed by San Franciscos University of the Pacific as a Doctor in Dental Science. He is a strong supporter of the University of the Pacifics Dental Program and is an active Alumni. Furthermore, Dr. Kim works hard to maintain a high standard for dentistry in our community as a participating member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association.
Since 2012, He also serves on the faculty club at the prestigious SPEAR education center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Less than 1% of dentists in the entire country have this privilege and it signifies his dedication to the best possible experience for that of his practice and patients. He has earned his implant certification from the world renowned AIC education center and completed this training at the UOP Dental AEGD clinic. He stays up to date with the latest in the dental field by staying associated with ITI International Team for Implantology in Switzerland, AIC implant education in San Francisco, the Academy of General Dentistry, and various study clubs throughout Northern California.
Dr. Altig attended and graduated from the University of California at Riverside with a bachelors degree in psychobiology in 1993. He graduated from USC School Of Dentistry in 1997 and was a member of Psi-Omega dental fraternity. He practiced dentistry in Southern California for a few years until moving from Huntington Beach, California, to the Sacramento area in the summer of 2000.
Dr. Eric Gregg graduated from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 2011 and completed a general practice residency at the Portland VA Medical Center in 2012. He joined Sierra Oaks Dental in October 2020 and likes that the team here consists of high-caliber people all doing their best to give patients the highest level of clinical care, customer service and efficiency as we can. Dr. Gregg sincerely cares about meeting patients needs and achieving the most ideal results possible. This includes listening to each patients unique concerns and customizing treatment plans to match each persons desires. Through self-evaluation and observation and by soliciting feedback from colleagues, Dr. Gregg strives to constantly be improving and enjoys continued education to give him more tools to improve his patients lives. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, hiking, tennis and exploring food he has never had before at new restaurants.
Kevin Furmanek, DDS, MDDr. Furmanek was born and raised in Roseville, CA, and graduated from Granite Bay High School. His love for the greater Sacramento area prompted him to stay close to home and earn his Bachelor of Science degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior at the University of California, Davis. After graduation he moved to New York City where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine. Graduating near the top of his class, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society while also earning the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award and the Exemplary Professional Conduct Award from the New York Academy of Dentistry.
After graduating from dental school he stayed on the east coast to pursue advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital, perennially ranked as the #1 hospital in NY State and #5 in the nation in 2019. During his six years of training he learned from experts in dental implantology, orthognathic surgery, cleft lip and palate, maxillofacial pathology, reconstruction and trauma. He also earned a medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed an internship in General Surgery. During his final year of training he served as Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Although Dr. Furmanek has gained a large breadth of medical and dental knowledge, his greatest interest lies in dental implants and maxillofacial reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, sleep apnea, the temporomandibular joint, facial cosmetics, and maxillofacial pathology.
Dr. Furmanek takes pride in delivering patient-centered care with a gentle touch, empathy, and humility. Together with his excellent surgical skills and compassionate chairside manner, Kevin is beyond excited to return home and serve patients throughout the greater Sacramento area.
Maria is very dedicated to her patients and her five children. She graduated from the University of California, San Francisco in 1988. Maria has loved many aspects of her job since joining Sierra Oaks Dental as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 1993; however, she specializes in delivering patient care and forming relationships with her patients that last a lifetime. Marias commitment to her patients is remarkable, and her patients have the same level of commitment to her.
Jose joined our team in July of 2019. He is a 1999 graduate of Delta High School and attended SSC for a year and a half. He was involved in an accident that in a way, helped him find his lifes passion for dentistry. He graduated from Anthem College in 2003 and returned to school in 2011 to obtain his Expanded Functions license. He has been in dentistry since 2004 and continues to grow in his knowledge and skills. He loves helping people in our community feel better about their smiles.
Jose believes that being an Expanded Functions dental assistant allows the dentists to be available to see more patients since he is able to step in and finish dental procedures. He enjoys the great teamwork and family atmosphere at our office.
Jose became a father to a beautiful girl in 2018. She is the center of his universe and his motivation to become a better parent, friend and overall person. In his free time he likes to play soccer, draw and paint.
Betty studied accounting at college in Korea and San Francisco and joined our team in January 2017. Before she worked at Sierra Oaks Dental, she worked at a CDA office in San Francisco and as part of a Samsung information systems team in San Jose. Her second son is a musical actor in Hollywood!
Peter joined Sierra Oaks Dental in the Fall of 2019 and has worked hard since then to make sure our office is always clean and organized. In addition to making everyone smile with his positive attitude, Peter enjoys making improvements to the building so the staff and patients have the best possible experience. In his free time he enjoys gardening and cooking.

Tried to set an appointment as a new patient. They couldnt even coordinate getting my records from my previous dentist after three attempts. Each time I talked to a different person that just passed me on to the next. Horrible when you cant even get past the first step. No thank you!

Jose's kindness and service were exceptional! I was very anxious about getting a crown. He and Dr. A were a great team. Dr. A Jammed through the process very well. This place could quite possibly be one of the worst places I've ever been to when reviewing customer service. I am 32 years old and this has been the only dentist I've been to. If I could give this place zero stars I would. It has done nothing but spiral out of control the past few years. In the past 2 years I have had more appointments cancelled, changed, or entered wrong that I couldn't even begin to tally all of the errors. I can't even begin to guess when I was actually taken back on time for my scheduled appointment. On average you aren't taken back until 20+ minutes after your appointment time. My most recent appointment was 63 minutes late. There is never an apology or any sort of feeling valued. I made it my goal to get Invisalign before I left. That was the biggest mistake I could have made. Nothing about the process has been simple. If you are looking for a headache and frustration, this is your place. Sierra Oaks Dental, you were the best for a long time. But you no longer are and have fallen so far from it. You are a disaster and I will never be back. In September 2021 I made a payment of ~$1800 for my Invisalign treatment. This was a full payment that covered my full cost per the quote. Jump ahead to May 2022 and a phone call to the office to pay my $25 co pay for a cleaning. I am told that I owe $1300 for the remainder of my Invisalign. Let the disaster begin. I authorize a charge for $25 but luckily catch a $1300 charge on my online account. I contact the office staff and attempt to contact Dr. Kim. I am greeted with lack of assistance from the staff and zero callbacks from Dr. Kim. A month later I am on the brink of filing a police report for credit card fraud and reporting the charge as fraud. I call in another day to find that the office manager was no longer working there and that Chiep had filled the position. Let me say that I wish Chiep could have her own yelp review page because she was 10/10. Numerous calls/messages for Dr. Kim to call me were left. He never called. Chiep tells me that a check is ready for pickup. Dr. Kim ends up only approving a refund of $599 and magically when I'm there nobody in the office is available to get me my check. More wasted time with this office. Chiep informs me that after reviewing my file that my initial quote was inaccurate, Delta Dental was billed incorrectly, that my May 2022 payment should've never occurred, and that my September 2021 payment was over by approx $300. I made numerous attempts to get Dr. Kim to call me to resolve the issue because a refund check had to be signed by him. I began to call every 30 minutes one day. Magically I had a check signed for a proper refund. Did I ever get a phone call from Dr. Kim? Absolutely not. He is an absolute joke. The office is a joke. Dr. Farnsworth (Who opened the practice)would be ashamed. You could not pay me to go here. What a joke of a dentist office. Chiep is GREAT! Thank god for her!!

Had a cleaning done in August 2021. Got a surprise bill in the mail today, 9 months later. Turns out, this dentist takes my PPO, but not an "in network provider". Meaning that my copays will be higher. Something that should have been said up front. Let's be honest here people. This is not cool. Check with your insurance before going here. Get the truth up front.

Worst dental experience I have ever had. Waited almost an hour to be seen. Dentist/hygienist was fine. They then told me I would be charged $80 as my insurance only covers 80%, I have NEVER had to pay out of pocket for a dentist appointment. The very first thing I asked when I called them to make appointment is if my insurance would cover them and they assured me it would. Absolutely awful. Don't go here unless you enjoy being screwed over. Dentist: Don't respond to my review saying I should have checked with my insurance, cuz that's total bull. As a dentist office that is YOUR JOB to tell me the correct information. I have never had a negative experience with any dentist office until coming here. Hugely dissatisfied and disappointed, they clearly pay for all their 5 star reviews.

This dental office is extraordinary!! The office is beautiful and expertly laid out. The staff is kind, considerate, and they have perfected customer service. My dentist took the time to get to know me and really understands how to put a person at ease. I am so happy that I made the change to this office. It's actually a pleasure to come here!!

From the moment I walked in the door, my experience at Sierra Oaks Dental was amazing. I'm like most and hate going to the dentist. I've had lots of work done so I'm also no stranger to the dentist chair. The staff is exceptional! Very knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. I really can't say enough good things about this place. I'm glad I choose this place to take care of ALL my dental needs!

I just relocated back to the Area and needed a new Dentist. Found Sierra Oaks via Google and though I've only had a couple of Cleaning appointments, the experience has been great. The Staff is always pleasant and the facility state of the art.

I'm so happy I found this dental office! I chose them, admittedly, for a silly reason to choose a dental office: they support Sacramento SPCA and Front Street Animal Shelter! I'm so glad I followed my animal-loving heart on this one! A spacious waiting room that's never full and minimal wait times. Private rooms with minimal exposure to others - usually just one assistant and the doctor. I've been here 3 times now and have had an excellent experience every time. So nice to find a dental experience that produces zero anxiety! Highly recommend.

He is very professional and experienced and my cleanings are thorough and without any discomfort.
