Dr. Marinello Manuel came to Sierra Dental Care all the way from New York City in 1996. He has called Modesto, CA home ever since. He holds a DMD from the University of the Philippines and spent more than two years of postgraduate study in the fields of oral pathology, anesthesia, and oral surgery.
He enjoys practicing dentistry so much, he says he cant imagine himself working in another field. Just like a true New Yorker, his passions include sports, fine dining, the symphony, and, of course, Broadway. If youre interested in theater, ask his opinion of the latest show!
I graduated in 1988. I've been in practice for over 30 years now, and this office, I've been here for 22 and a half years. I did an internship in oral surgery and oral pathology and medicine for three years in a government hospital, and also I did a two-year program in orthodontics with the Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. I feel more challenged with surgery, and I love when patients come in with their pathology and their large infections, and I'm able to make a difference there. After a few days, they feel much, much better after that. With orthodontics, what I love about that is you're able to help them with their smiles, with their alignment of their teeth there, correct their bite. You see that they're happy with their results after the teeth are aligned, and you increase their self-confidence, their self-esteem, make an impact.
I got into the practice of medicine because I come from a family of medical practitioners. My dad is a veterinarian, and half my siblings were medical practitioners, as well as my in-laws. I love getting into dentistry. I'm very detail-oriented and meticulous about things that I do. I'm very passionate about dentistry. I've been in this field for 30 years. I love what I do. I can't imagine myself being in any other field, especially when you're helping people. I've done a lot of volunteer work as well. That's one of the things that I love most. It is a very rewarding experience when you do a lot, when you give back to your community.
Dr. Christian de Guzman grew up in San Jose, CA. He graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2010. He received his DDS from the same university in 2013 at its San Francisco campus.
During his time in school, he participated in various outreach and volunteer programs, including Give Kids a Smile Day, CDA Cares, and a mission trip to Fiji. The year following, he completed a postgraduate program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry through Lutheran Medical Center Hospital in Tucson, AZ. Dr. Joseph King was born and raised in Californias Central Valley. He attended the University of the Pacific College of the Pacific, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He completed his dental studies at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Dr. King expanded his skill set by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through Lutheran Medical Center Hospital in Arizona. He currently serves in the Army Reserves as a general dentist for the 7305th Medical Training Support Battalion. He enjoys improving his patients overall oral health and making them feel comfortable at the dentist.

Honestly the very best experience I've ever had with a dentist and I have been avoiding going for many years and feel super blessed that my new health insurance is going to cover all the work I need. Every assistant I dealt with was super friendly and they eliminated my enormous amount of anxiety then when the dentist did the work it was over before I knew it. Thank you so much everyone to everyone there. You all deserve a raise.

My second visit I was seen by Juan and Dr. king. I had a filling and crown done. Juan was personable, very calming and helpful with my anxiety. He reiterated that everything was going to go quickly and smoothly. He also brought me a stress ball which was helpful. Dr. King was focused and worked quickly to subside my anxieties. He also talked me through every step. The assistant who put on my temporary crown was also helpful. She was very sweet, asked how I was doing as she was working and also made sure my temporary crown fit comfortably. If it weren't for these three amazing professionals I feel that my visit wouldn't have gone as smoothly. I feel comfortable going to Sierra Dental Care. Thank you from a happy patient.

When I first walked into Sierra Dental I was impressed with the clean waiting area. The receptionist was very nice to me even though I used a walker and was a little slow. When I sat down with my sis I expected a long wait, but lo and behold I was taken back in about 15 minutes! Loved that! The 390 degree x-ray was amazing! Dr Mene was gracious to me, as was Cris, the technician. They explained everything about implant surgery and every plan available. I know Dr Sauza is the best surgeon in California. And Nancy called me with payment plans. If I get the chance to change my life, my gratefulness will be eternal. You will never be disappointed by using Sierra Dental for any problems with your teeth!

Experience was incredible thanks to Brittney's sociability, attention to the work she was doing and the efficiency/speed at which I was seen. I started off with a 1:40pm appt but needed to be done asap so they squeezed me in at 11:30am. In and out. Love this place for all my dental needs!

I like this place ,the staff was very nice ,I had a first consultation.it was free .. they took several .x- rays, I was able to speak to the dentist and oral surgeon...they showed me all my options....very honest ..I would recommend them to all...I will be returning to get my work done with them

I've been going to Sierra Dental for about 25 years and my children now as young adults, make it their continued, and only dentist as well. The Sierra Dental team from start to finish of every visit take excellent care of me and my family. We've had the basic 6 month visits as well as orthodontics and special situations given attention to. I travel 90 min because they have earned my trust and respect. Their attention to detail, thoroughness and kindness has always been such a comfort. No doubt you are/will be just as pleased!!
