As CEO and proprietor of Sierra Crest Dental welcome! Ive lived here in the Truckee area, on and off, for more than 18 years. I love providing gentle, patient-centered care to my friends and neighbors. It is my goal to offer each patient the highest quality of dental care in a comfortable, painless, and friendly environment.
You might well recognize me: Before I went to dental school, I was a member of the Sierra Crest Dental Hygiene Team! After my residency I returned to rejoin the Team at Sierra Crest Dental. I look forward to continuing the tradition of exceptional care in a service oriented environment here at Sierra Crest Dental.
I decided to pursue my interest in dentistry and received my undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada Reno. Then I moved to the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. I continued my education in a general practice residency before returning to Truckee.
As part of the team at Sierra Crest Dental, Im committed to constant and never-ending improvement. I enjoy the science of dentistryand how it enables me to improve the lives and smiles of our patients.
Dentistry is an ever-evolving science. Changes in technology, techniques, and materials all lead to better results and more comfortable care for our patients. By pursuing continuing education at every opportunity, I ensure our patients have access to the best care. Ive completed postgraduate training in general practice dentistry and in moderate sedation.
Our team is fully committed to providing state-of-the-art dentistry and outstanding service in a warm and caring environment. Were honored to have been voted Best of Truckee and North Tahoe in2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017and 2018.We continue to find ways to support our community, both in our time and donations. We are known for our annual Dentistry From the Heart Event.
My husband, Mick, and I enjoy the mountain lifestyle. I have two childrenone still at home. My daughter, Maeve, has returned with her horse, Magic. When Im not working, I especially enjoy riding my mountain bike. Im often found on a trail:me on my bike and my daughter alongside, on her horse.
I always knew I wanted to be in health care to help people. I have also loved painting and drawing from a young age. In college, I decided to shadow my family dentist, and I realized how hands-on dentistry is. I discovered that as a dentist, I would be able to physically do something to take patients out of pain and help them feel more confident about their smiles. Dentistry combines my two passions and I couldnt be happier being able to do what I love every day!
I love the artistic side of dentistry. I enjoy being able to create beautiful restorations that are esthetic and natural looking, while following form, function, and biology. I love working alongside patients to understand their personal oral health goals, and helping them develop a plan to achieve those goals.
I truly enjoy getting to know each of my patients and developing lifelong relationships that are centered on trust. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a patient feel better, on the inside and out!
Growing up in Danville, CA, I graduated from Monte Vista High School and then went on to receive my Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from the honors program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. While there, I was an active member of the sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and very much enjoyed my semester abroad in Brisbane, Australia. From Santa Barbara, I moved south to attend the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. While at USC, I achieved Dean's Honors for nine semesters and was an active member of the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. Providing dental care for underserved populations throughout Southern California, I was also very active with the USC Mobile Clinic. Building on this expansive patient care exposure, I also completed an internship at the La Maestra community health clinic in San Diego, CA.
Upon finishing dental school, I moved to Orange County where I practiced dentistry for three years before returning home to the Bay Area. I am an active member of the Contra Costa Dental Society, California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. I am also a member of the Spear Faculty Club, attending over 50 hours of continuing education per year, and regularly participating in local study clubs.
As a native to the San Francisco Bay Area, I grew up spending most winter weekends in the mountains of Tahoe, skiing and snowboarding and playing in the snow. One of my earliest memories is of learning to ski at Northstar at the age of two! In more recent years, I have discovered the magic of Tahoe in the summer. Exploring the lake by boat, and hiking the trails of the sierras, has become a favorite way to spend summer days. My parents decided to make the move to live in Truckee full time last year, and I am ecstatic to be following in their footsteps. Being able to live and work in my favorite place is a dream come true!
We recognize that allour patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.
I have been a hygienist for more than 15 years and love meeting my patients clinical and personal needs. I focus on a patients specific concerns and work with him or herto improve oral health and smile. During patientsvisits, I enjoy developing long-term relationships and passing on my knowledge about the connection between a healthy mouth and body, and give them the information they need to keep both in great shape.
I enjoy seeing how a healthy, bright smile improves a persons self-confidence andhappiness. I worked as a dental assistant for six years before returning to schoolin 2008for my dental hygiene degree and certification. Its a joy to work in a positive, supportive environment where we help people develop healthy smiles and overall wellness.
I am a people person, so I enjoy getting to know all my patients and sharing my experiences and knowledge in and out of the dental chair. In return, I get to learn from the excellent Team at Sierra Crest Dental and from you (our awesome patients) and expand my world.
I am a Truckee native, and yes, I enjoy where I live. If not caring for patients, you will find me skiing at Squaw, wakeboarding on Tahoe, mountain biking, hiking, or Crossfit (as an instructor). I married the love of my life in 2019, and we never turn down an opportunity to celebrate our life together with family & friends. Find us out with our dog Joey (cutest lil dog ever!).
They say the average adult changes their career five times. I am proud to say I am not one of those people. I have worked in dentistry for over 37 years. The best part about my job is the relationships I have built with our wonderful patients. I genuinely care for people, so it is essential that I work in a positive, caring environment with top-notch care.
I was born and raised in Reno, where I still reside with my partner of 28 years and our two rescue dogs, who have us wrapped around their paws. I am incredibly proud of my son and his wife, who are both nurses living in Roseville. Hopefully, grandkids are in the near future! I enjoy cooking, yoga, biking, & hiking. My newfound talent is painting, specifically on rocks. It has quickly become a passion because of the tranquility that it brings to my life. I will gladly share my artwork if you ask!
I started at Sierra Crest Dental 5years ago in sterilization. I find dentistry fascinating and have trained to become a dental assistant to ensure our patients have a comfortable experience. I enjoy seeing our patients improve their smiles, and I am glad I can be a part of the process.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn and grow, both in a new profession and personally, at Sierra Crest Dental. My goal is to provide outstanding service and provide an excellent experience for our patients and team.
Born and raised in Truckee, I know a lot about the area and have recently become consumedbythe true outdoor Truckee lifestyle! You can find me on local trails or hanging out at the beach. I love to talk about my adventures, so be sure to ask me where I've been lately.
Having endured unpleasant experiences in other offices, I was determined to find a team with the same values as my own and doctors that genuinely cared about patients' quality of care. I am fortunate to be a part of SCD, where patients come first!
I was born and raised in Truckee. I am now married and have a beautiful boy named Julian. Together, we enjoy watching movies and spending time with our families. I may seem shy, but ask me about my son, and I'll light up.
I have called Tahoe home for over 40 years, where my husband and I raised our two daughters. I am thrilled to have three grandchildren now. When not spending time with them, I spend my time creating jewelry, hiking the woods, and enjoying our beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Sierra Crest Dental welcomed me to the team in 2017. I have gained much knowledge working with the intelligent women in our office. Helping to create a unique and personalized experience for each patient is the best part of my job.
After realizing I wanted to immerse myself in the mountain lifestyle, my partner and I moved to Kings Beach in 2015. I didn't come too far, though, as I grew up in the Sierra Foothills. In the winter, you will find me snowboarding at Squaw, and in the summer, I am constantly outside either camping, hiking, or mountain biking. However, my true passion is to create, whether it be making jewelry or cooking healthy meals. I find my inspiration through travel, so be sure to tell me a tale of your worldly adventures!
