He is licensed to administer IV sedation, and also uses oral sedation, nitrous oxide, and local anesthetic to manage various aspects of your care. IV sedation and oral sedation are especially strong options for patients with dental phobia, because they induce a sleep-like state. You wont feel anything during the procedure, and youre not likely to remember it. Nitrous oxide can be used to keep you alert but calm during your treatment. Local anesthetic is applied or injected to a treatment site and numbs only that specific area. With these tools, your transformation to a new smile can be smooth and comfortable.
Dr. ONeill graduated from the University of Georgia and earned his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Following dental school, he completed three years of additional specialty training to earn his Certificate in periodontics and implant dentistry. He received multiple awards and scholarships during his dental training, and was very active in national dental leadership organizations.
Dr. ONeill is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and he is an Adjunct Clinical faculty at Augusta University in the Department of Periodontics.
Dr. ONeill holds special interests in dental implants, soft tissue grafting, and treatment of gum disease with advanced laser therapies. He completes numerous hours of continuing education each year, and he is the founder of the Savannah Spear Study Club.
Linda was born in Germany, and grew up in a military family. As a young girl she lived in many places, including Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maine. The family then settled in Shreveport/Bossier in 1974. She completed her dental assistant training at Barksdale AFB, and she has worked as a periodontal surgical assistant for 40 years. She has a passion for animals and started her own pet photography business called Unleashed Petography. You may see her driving around the area in Shreveport/Bossiers only mobile photography studio! She currently has three standard poodles and a golden doodle, and she enjoys traveling, photography, and taking on home projects. In her remaining spare time, she spends time with her grown son Sawyer, her dogs, and friends and family.

It was not what I was expecting at all. I was so surprised that I never felt any pain or swelling and I had 3 implants. Two on one side and one on the other, plus a bone graft. It was a great experience and friendly staff. I would recommend them to everyone.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr O'Neal and his staff. They are all friendly and quickly made me feel at peace. He explained his procedures carefully and of course that helped to ease my mind. He was empathetic, patient and kind. I would definitely recommend Dr O'Neal if asked.

The staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and at ease. They treat you like they have known you forever, from the front office to the exam chair you are treated with kindness & respect, and empathy. I am so glad this is my Dr, & Periodontist. One week ago I had a procedure I believe to have been a deep cleaning of the tooth roots on both my upper and lower left jaw. Dr O'Neill gave me a little pill that relaxed me to the point that I went to sleep during the operation. No pain, No stress,No discomfort, no bleeding afterward. Probably as pleasant experience one could have in the dental chair. Strongly recommend Dr O'Neill to address any periodontic issues one has. The whole office was friendly and most accommodating as I was very nervous going in and none of my worst fears was justified. Very good experience.
