Haueis and Dr. Emil P. Christofakis!
Dr. Haueis grew up in a small town in New Jersey where his fascination with dentistry began at an early age. His family dentist even gave him an opportunity to work at his office during the summers, which is when he knew that dentistry was for him. After receiving his bachelor's degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Dr. Haueis attended Boston University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After graduation, he returned to Washington, D.C. where he completed a General Practice Residency at the V.A. Medical Center. His next stop was Richmond, VA where he has been in private practice as a dentist since 1996.
Dr. Haueis enjoys practicing all aspects of dentistry with a special interest in dental implants as well as cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the Richmond Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
He loves giving back to his community through participation in the Donated Dental Services program of the Virginia Dental Association Foundation, where he can provide comprehensive dental care to those in need.
When Dr. Haueis isnt practicing dentistry, he enjoys a good movie and a good meal. He also enjoys his annual family trip to the Outer Banks. His favorite activity, however, is spending quality time with his beautiful wife and two children.
Dr. Emil Christofakis considers himself a Richmond native after moving here with his family at the age of 4. He graduated from the Godwin High Schools math, science and technology specialty center and obtained a bachelor of science in Biology at the University of Mary Washington. He returned to Richmond to pursue a Master of Science degree in Physiology through the VCU School of Medicine, where he conducted research in Oral Cancer. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the VCU School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into the OKU Honor society and graduated among the top of this class.
Following dental school, Dr. Christofakis completed two years of advanced training in dental surgery and in-office sedation at the General Practice Residency through the McGuire Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Richmond. He also participated in several community Mission of Mercy dental clinics across the state of Virginia to provide free dental care to the underserved. He is also a regular volunteer at St. James Free Dental Clinic in Ashland. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with particular interests in dental implants, periodontal and dentoalveolar surgery. He is certified in oral and intravenous sedation and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Dr. Christofakis is a current member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association. He stays current with all aspects of dentistry through hundreds of hours of local and national continuing education courses. He is also a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and Appolonia Dental Study Club.
He continues his dedication to teaching and academics through a part time position at the VCU School of Dentistry, supervising upper level students in patient care and clinical practice. He was recognized as Part-time faculty of the year unanimously by the students in 2016. He is also an active member of the Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Tassia and their dog Max. They are looking forward to the arrival of their first child in late December 2017.

What a great experience! I just moved to the area and was looking for a dentist. While originally they gave me an appointment for a month away, they called with an opening the next day and got me in. A week later they got me in for a crown I needed, and they make it in the office there, so you don't need a temporary and then come back weeks later. Dr. Christofakis is just excellent. He explains the procedures well and makes sure you're comfortable. Everyone in the office is wonderful. I highly recommend them.

Great experience at this office again- smooth process in the front office, amazing staff up front and in the back. Always on time, I'm never waiting beyond my appt time. The dental assistants here are really top notch- they seem to have more confidence in skills and bedside manner/relationship is genuine, caring. Dental hygienists I have had also seem more skilled than average. I have had work done from Dr Haueis and Dr Christofakis, both are knowledgeable, very responsive, professional and they are not ever trying to do more (upsell) than is necessary, sensitive to cost and give options when that is a factor. Not always the case in other places I've been. Their after appt response to any questions or issues is amazing. I won't be going anywhere else. Best dental clinic I have found. (This clinic also does a great deal of giving back to the community- that matters to me)

I have been going to Dr. Haueis for 20 years. Even when I lived in Fredericksburg briefly, I drove down. He and his staff are patient, good at what they do and do not try to do sell you services you don't need. I love them so much my husband and three children now see him too!

Perfection! The best dental practice in RVA. Hands down.! Amazing customer service and untouchable work.
