Dr Daar grew up in the Chicago suburbs and moved to Connecticut in 1983. Having lived here more than half of his life he considers New England, and Connecticut his home. He went to Undergraduate School at Northern Illinois University and then the Masters program in Biology at Loyola University in Chicago. He completed his Dental education at Loyola University, Maywood Illinois in 1982. Always yearning to know more and educate himself for his patients benefit, he then obtained a Masters of Nutrition degree at St Josephs College in West Hartford. He opened his Dental practice on Main Street Old Saybrook in February of 1983.
Continuing education and advanced skills have allowed Dr Daar to develop one of the top offices in the state. He has completed hundreds of hours of training in Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Dental Implants, Sleep Apnea, and more.
He has been a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, GP Orthodontics, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, World Clinical Laser Institute, American Dental Association, and Connecticut Dental Association to name a few. Dr Daar regularly attends courses to ensure his patients get the best treatment possible. He also gives seminars to the public on a monthly basis to educate people on topics such as Dental Implants and Sleep Apnea.
When not working, Dr Daar enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys at the shoreline enjoying the beauty and benefits of Long Island Sound. He has been a pilot of hot air balloons, ultralights, and aircraft since 1985. He also enjoys his motorcycle as a great way to really see the countryside of Connecticut.
Giving back to the community is very important to Dr Daar and the staff of Shoreline Modern Dental. They created a scholarship fund at Old Saybrook Community College that still gives the opportunity for education to those that may not be able to afford it.
Dr Daar has been involved with the Police Activities league (PAL) and was a past president of that organization. Shoreline Modern Dental is the sole sponsor of the Old Saybrook ROCS boxing gym giving local youth an alternative to hanging out in the streets.
Dr Daar is a Board member of a non profit organization for a vascular disease, Fibro Muscular Dysplasia (FMD), and has been President of the Board of Directors for the past 5 years. He runs their annual meeting along with the Cleveland Clinic every May in Cleveland Ohio.
Dr. Kelly Beamish graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2015 receiving a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. In the final year of her dental education she participated in a program focused on the aesthetic aspects of dentistry and graduated with Honors in Aesthetic Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Beamish completed an additional year of training in a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Manhattan.
Dr. Beamish is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. When she is not providing dental care, you can find her crafting five-course meals, shooting photos across coastal Connecticut, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
Dental implants represent the most recent and advanced method of replacing lost or missing teeth. Invented in 1952 by a Swedish surgeon named Per-Ingevar Branemark, dental implants today offer a highly effective, long-term solution for replacing missing teeth to reestablish a fully functional and attractive smile. Very horrible they could not fix my root canal that day. Did it fell in very horrible they told me they couldn't fix it. They told me I had to go somewhere to get the root canal fix never came back because they were horrible. Never going there again. I wouldn't trust it for a root canal.

Dr. Kelly Beamish and everyone in that office are outstanding! I've been to more than a few dentists in my life, Dr. Beamish is without a doubt, The Best!!! The staff, assistants, and hygienists are caring, smart, and always happy to help. I've never had a problem, never had to wait longer than a few minutes for my appointments... Great dentist! Everyone in the office is very nice and the two dentist are very pleasant and do their best to accommodate me and my entire family. The hygienist stay on schedule and don't talk to you while they have their hands in your mouth.

I lost two of the four filling that were put in late February: one in July and the other today. Second dr beamish ruined two of my molars with fillings that weren't even necessary and the bites for the two fillings weren't even checked after they were filled.I literally went out and got dental insurance after that second visit so I can see an actual dentist who cares. Oh and The 1 star is for the hygienist.I wish I can sue this place or her have her medical liscense revoked cuz permanent damage was done to my teeth; and the main molars! The worse dentist I've ever seen in my life. Even my new dentist acknowledged her horrible job with all 4 fillings.

Great dental practice! Everyone is really nice and they do good work. I've been using them for several years now and besides the usual cleanings they've done a couple composite fillings for me and a night guard. They're good about accepting insurance, and I've always been able to get an appointment when needed.

This place is horrible. If your teeth are all in tip top shape I'm sure you will get easy treatment. I been dealing with them for 2 years all they do is lie and give you false hope. Finally found somewhere that treats me like a human

So far I've had 2 appointments, no complaints. All employees are very nice and very professional. Amanda at front desk is always very nice and personable, Dr Daar is excellent! as are all of the other staff members who work there !! I would highly recommend Shoreline Modern Dental !!
