Dr. Smith was born in 1951 to Dr. Raymond J. Smith, DDS, and Ann Elizabeth Smith. He has three siblings named Diane, Donald, and Dale. He chose to move from his hometown Miami after graduating from high school and attend the University of Florida, where he majored in chemistry and earned his Bachelors in Science. He then pursued his Masters in Education at the University of Floridas graduate school before moving on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1978 from Emory University.
After school, Dr. Smith moved to Sarasota, FL. He worked with Dr. Harold M. Shaffer for two years before purchasing his dental practice in 1980, practicing general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry until 2005. During this time, he also served as the President of the Sarasota County Dental Association in 1985 and the President of the West Coast Dental Association in 1995.
Dr. Bouton is a native Floridian, born in Winter Springs right outside of Orlando. She completed her bachelors degree at the University of Florida majoring in Human Nutrition. Then went on to obtained her masters degree in Biomedical Sciences. She worked in the field of diabetes research before attending the University of Florida for her doctorate in Dentistry. As you can imagine, after receiving two degrees from UF, she is an avid Florida Gators fan!
Dr. Bouton is a lifelong learner, having attended a wide range of continuing education courses. She enjoys attending these classes to stay up to date on all of her clinical skills. She is also a member of the Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is an Invisalign Provider.
Every case is unique and each individual has a different set of treatment goals, so getting to know her patients well is a priority. She also works hard to create a calm and comfortable environment for the patients and the dental team to enjoy.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bouton enjoys spending time with her husband Spencer, son Bexton and dog Lily. She is a foodie, who enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants. She also enjoys playing the piano and maintaining an active lifestyle.

I'll be honest I hate the dentist, I haven't been to one in 20 years since my experience with army dentists. They are caring and listen to your concerns. While I still don't enjoy going to the dentist this place makes it tolerable for me.
