Dr. Shoop loves technology and is excited about the ability to show his patients pictures of their teeth.He utilizes a small intraoral camera outfitted in each treatment room with a large TV screen mounted in front of you.He likes to utilize pictures and digital X-rays of your teeth in order to show and explain the reasoning behind his recommendations, such as fillings or crowns. Sometimes he even takes pictures mid-procedure to illustrate your treatment progress or what tooth decay looks like. He will even provide images of the final restoration to show you how beautiful and healthy your tooth is now! We also utilize an intraoral scanner to take impressions of teeth no more goo!
Our longstanding team is dedicated to your comfort. Of course, we are always as gentle as possible during any treatment or procedure. We also provide numerous amenities to ensure a comfortable dental experience and your relaxation, including free Wi-Fi, blankets, pillows, and access to TVs.
Dr. Daniel R. Shoop is from Poulsbo, Wa and loves living in the Pacific Northwest. He graduated from the University of Michigan the nations top dental school at the time and is happy to have returned to the Puget Sound in 2014. Dr. Shoops heart is with every patient and every tooth he works on. Dentistry is his hobby and passion and he strives for the most painless and perfect outcome with every tooth he works on.
He has been awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD, Dental Implant Association (FIDIA) and Fellowship status in the in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). His office has been awarded Best Dentist by South Sound magazine as well as Federal Way Mirror. He is a member of American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, as well as King County Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association and American Dental Association. He is also an Invisalign and Inman Aligner provider.
Dr. Shoop believes in caring for and serving others. He is committed to helping both inside the community and out. He is a frequent volunteer with Medical Teams International on the Dental Bus and also happily volunteers with any other organizations such as Give Kids a Smile and Veterans days. He has even gone far up into the mountains of Guatemala as well as to the Dominica Republic on dental missions. He also volunteers within the dental community by mentoring a student dentist at the UW school of dentistry.
He and his wife, who is a nurse, live in University Place,Wa. where he practiced for four years before taking over for Dr. Jacka in Federal Way. They have a young daughter and baby boy. His wife often works weekends which keeps Dr. Shoop full time dad during long nurse shifts. If they have spare time they like spending their time out on walks or in the yard tending to their flowers and fruit trees.
I have worked in this office, as the financial coordinator for the past 33 years. It is my goal to help every patient achieve their treatment goals. In my spare time I enjoy golfing and bowling with my husband.
Hi my name is Sarah! I have been in the dental field for 15 years! I am a dental assistant for Dr. Shoop. I love being able to help and make patients feel comfortable in our office. Hi, Im Yvette. Ive had the good fortune to be part of this amazing practice for eighteen years. Ive been a dental hygienist for twenty-nine years. I cant imagine doing anything else. When Im not at work I enjoy being the chorister for the church children choir, also enjoy singing, play violin and spend time with my family.

I have never received such good and kind care from a dentist. He is understanding and feels what you feel. He will do anything to make you comfortable with the procedures. He is always on your side and will be there through all of your problems. He won't leave you alone to figure out what needs to be done. HE IS WONDERFUL.

I can't say enough nice things about this place and everyone there. I highly recommend this dental office to everyone. I came to see Dr.Jacka throughout my entire childhood until I moved away for college and I haven't been back in years. I was sad to hear Dr.Jacka retired but my parents have been telling me Dr.Shoop is great. Yesterday I broke part of my tooth so I called to see if I could get in some time soon. They were able to get me an appointment first thing in the morning today. (Side note- Dana is fantastic and it was really nice seeing a familiar face when I got to the office today) Today Sarah and Dr.Shoop were beyond amazing and I felt very relaxed and comfortable while they did their magic. They were very compassionate to my discomfort with needles and I was very impressed with my overall experience. Also, shout out to Yvette who throughout my years coming here has always been the absolute sweetest human. Honestly every dental hygienist I've had here has been so kind and awesome but Yvette has always been the most memorable to me because she always went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. I'm happy she is still there!

I highly recommend Dr Dan Shoop. Today he removed wisdom teeth from 2 of my teenagers. He took the time needed to ensure they'll have a good recovery. He is highly skilled and I appreciate the time he took to put them at ease.

I have had 3 dentists in my lifetime, by far, Dr. Shoop is the best I've had. I've never felt rushed when he sits to chat before an exam and he is thorough in his work and explanations. His "chair-side manner" is second to none and his entire team of hygienists and office staff are warm and welcoming. I recently had a root canal, and he personally called to check in on me, as did his staff. I am grateful for the amazing service provided by Dr. Shoop- there aren't enough stars on here to accurately rate this practice.
