Dr. Shok was born in Dubois, Pennsylvania and graduated from Central Christian High School, located just outside of town. He attended Penn State University, where he attained a B.S. degree in Biology. Dr. Shok was then accepted at the University of Pittsburgh Dental School and received his Doctorate Degree with Honors in 1978. While attending Pitt Dental School, he was selected for all Honor Societies, graduated sixth out of 144 students, received a graduation award for clinical ability and was elected to OKU (Summa Cum Laude), the National Dental Honor Society.
Upon graduation, Dr. Shok served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps at a Marine Base in North Carolina. After two years of active duty, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh Dental School for a three-year graduate residency program in orthodontics. He graduated in 1983 and established his home and practice in Meadville, PA.
In 1995, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. This distinction is held by fewer that 25 percent of orthodontists nationwide. ABO certification represents the culmination of five to ten years of written and oral examinations and independent expert review of actual treated patients.
Dr. Shok maintains a full- time practice in Meadville, PA and also has a branch office in Titusville, PA. His practice is devoted to all problems dealing with bite or growth abnormalities in both adults and children. He specializes in the use of the new Damon System, which has revolutionized the orthodontic profession. He has also treated patients with sleep apnea problems and imbalances in the Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) for the past 20 years.
Cindy has been with Dr. Shok since he started practicing 34 years ago. Her role began as Financial Coordinator, working with patients and their families and their insurance companies. Now as Office Manager, she oversees the daily operation of the practice to keep the office running smoothly. She is a lifelong resident of Saegertown. She and her husband of 38 years have 2 grown children and 3 grandsons. Much of her time outside work is spent with family and her many craft projects.
Moey has been working with Dr. Shok for 32 years making beautiful smiles. Her roles have included Treatment Coordinator, Chairside and Laboratory. In her free time, she enjoys her family and friends, being creative in home decorating, landscaping, exercise, reading and of course shopping!
As a 25 year certified orthodontic assistant, Cheryl enjoys the many challenges of her work, especially when the end result is a beautiful smile. When shes not working, Cheryl enjoys walking the dam, as well as knitting socks.
Heather has worked for Dr. Shok for 20 years, helping him create stunning smiles again and again. She also makes the retainers at the end of treatment to maintain those smiles! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and husband and extended family. She also enjoys traveling & reading.
Allison graduated from Lycoming College in 2006. She moved to Georgia to achieve her masters degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. After a brief stint in Los Angeles, she joined the US Army as an Officer. Once she completed her obligation, she moved back to PA and obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University. She is the proud owner of two beautiful Great Danes.
Jessica graduated from Tri State Institute in 2011. She has been working for Dr. Shok since March 2016. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters. When shes not working, she enjoys listening to live music , camping and road trips.

I do not recommend DR. SHOK for braces. I had a terrible orthodontic experience for what was supposed to be an 18 month orthodontist treatment. I was Literally left with crooked bottom teeth, a top 2nd front tooth crossing over the front tooth and prior work left to fall apart causing teeth to cave back in. Initially, my braces were put on October 2016 and removed March 2018 only to be put back on April 2018 to correct what was not done right the first time. The braces were put on half way, the first front to side top and bottom teeth, which qod be top six teeth and bottom 6 teeth allowing prior work to the remaining teeth with no bra es to cave in. . October 2018, Dr. SHOK made an adjustment to my front teeth creating a space for 5 weeks. This allowed air to flow through the tooth making S and F qords hard to say without air flowing through the tooth. The final horrid adjustment was November 2018 where DR. SHOK was trying to pull my top 6 teeth in to match up with the remaining side and back caved in teeth. This created a giant gap on both sides of the top third and fourth upper teeth. I called the office manager, Cindy, telling her I was very unhappy with the outcome and that I did not want DR. SHOK touching my teeth anymore. Cindy suggested I see another orthodontist. I told her I should not have to pay for this other orthodontist. Cindy said DR. SHOK and the new orthodontist would work something out. Well, DR. SHOK'S off is is not.. I now have to pay another orthodontist to fix what DR. SHOK left fall apart, close off giant gaps and correct the bottom front teeth left barely treated by Dr.Shok. I began with a new Orthodontist group , I have braces on all teeth to widen teeth back out again what DR. SHOK let fall apart, my bottom teeth are straightening and moving, where Dr.Shok said" they could not" due to no room. The new orthodontist stated, "I just don't think he (DR. SHOK) wanted to do it". My braces have now now on for 28 months. I must say Heather, from Dr. SHOK'S office, is the most unfriendly staff.member there. My advice, truly, is find another orthodontist. I feel DR. SHOK is lazy and egotistical with his orthodontist care. If you mention you feel something still needs addressed, DR. SHOK will go as far as to fabricate a reason as to why it can't be done. As I stated above, find another orthodontist, you will be paying g out of pocket in the long run. Jill Fry, Rome Ohio.

This is a wonderful office that has not only given our daughter a beautiful smile, but is currently giving me one as well. Very friendly staff. They explain everything very clear to you so you understand the steps the whole way through your process! Very much would recommend them!

I have worked for Dr. Shok for many years. Dr. Shok has done alot for the community. There are always contests and fun things to join in the office. In all my years I have seen so many beautiful changes, and what makes it a awesome place to work is when these patients come back years later and their smiles are still amazing.

The staff are super friendly and we love going to the appointments. I couldn't be more satisfied with the care and treatment we have received and if my other two boys were to need orthodontic care there is no other orthodontist I would trust more to do it than Dr. Shok. I had a great experience at Dr. Shok, Orthodontics. The staff was always prompt and friendly and my smile is absolutely beautiful! I'm so thankful for each of the staff members for always being accommodating and knowledgeable to keep the brace period as short as possible. My teeth look fantastic, I can't stop looking at them!

Great experience. All of the staff were upbeat, professional and smiling. In particular, I had a great professional experience with Cheryl and Dr. Shok with regard to how they spoke with me and treated me during each appointment.
