Dr. Shok was born in Dubois, Pennsylvania and graduated from Central Christian High School, located just outside of town. He attended Penn State University, where he attained a B.S. degree in Biology. Dr. Shok was then accepted at the University of Pittsburgh Dental School and received his Doctorate Degree with Honors in 1978. While attending Pitt Dental School, he was selected for all Honor Societies, graduated sixth out of 144 students, received a graduation award for clinical ability and was elected to OKU (Summa Cum Laude), the National Dental Honor Society.
Upon graduation, Dr. Shok served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps at a Marine Base in North Carolina. After two years of active duty, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh Dental School for a three-year graduate residency program in orthodontics. He graduated in 1983 and established his home and practice in Meadville, PA.
In 1995, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. This distinction is held by fewer that 25 percent of orthodontists nationwide. ABO certification represents the culmination of five to ten years of written and oral examinations and independent expert review of actual treated patients.
Dr. Shok maintains a full- time practice in Meadville, PA and also has a branch office in Titusville, PA. His practice is devoted to all problems dealing with bite or growth abnormalities in both adults and children. He specializes in the use of the new Damon System, which has revolutionized the orthodontic profession. He has also treated patients with sleep apnea problems and imbalances in the Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) for the past 20 years.
Cindy has been with Dr. Shok since he started practicing 34 years ago. Her role began as Financial Coordinator, working with patients and their families and their insurance companies. Now as Office Manager, she oversees the daily operation of the practice to keep the office running smoothly. She is a lifelong resident of Saegertown. She and her husband of 38 years have 2 grown children and 3 grandsons. Much of her time outside work is spent with family and her many craft projects.
Moey has been working with Dr. Shok for 32 years making beautiful smiles. Her roles have included Treatment Coordinator, Chairside and Laboratory. In her free time, she enjoys her family and friends, being creative in home decorating, landscaping, exercise, reading and of course shopping!
As a 25 year certified orthodontic assistant, Cheryl enjoys the many challenges of her work, especially when the end result is a beautiful smile. When shes not working, Cheryl enjoys walking the dam, as well as knitting socks.
Heather has worked for Dr. Shok for 20 years, helping him create stunning smiles again and again. She also makes the retainers at the end of treatment to maintain those smiles! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and husband and extended family. She also enjoys traveling & reading.
Allison graduated from Lycoming College in 2006. She moved to Georgia to achieve her masters degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. After a brief stint in Los Angeles, she joined the US Army as an Officer. Once she completed her obligation, she moved back to PA and obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University. She is the proud owner of two beautiful Great Danes.
Jessica graduated from Tri State Institute in 2011. She has been working for Dr. Shok since March 2016. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters. When shes not working, she enjoys listening to live music , camping and road trips.
