Dr. Shaw began his dental experience in the USAF working as a laboratory technician for prosthodontic residents atWillford Hall Medical Centerin San Antonio, Texas. After the military, he finished his undergraduate studies at theUniversity of Tennessee-Chattanoogaand dental school at theUniversity of Tennessee-Memphis Health Care Science. After his residency program at theVAMC in Memphisand certifying in prosthodontics, he went on to Baylor College of Dentistry where he served as Director of Dental Anatomy and Occlusion. In 1997, Dr. Shaw moved to Austin, Texas, and established his private practice. In 2004, he was offered and accepted a year long surgical-track fellowship with the Misch Institute, sponsored by theAmerican College of Prosthodontic Education Foundation. Dr. Shaw is currently a member of theSouthwest Academy of Restorative Dentistry,International Congress of Oral Implantology,International Academy of Gnathology,ADA,TDA,Capital Area Dental Society, and a member of theAmerican College of Prosthodontics. Outside the office you will find Dr. Shaw soaking up the sun with his wife and 5 daughters and his beautiful granddaughter, and landscaping his yard. Dr. Davies began practicing general dentistry in Austin, Texas upon graduation from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1975. As a strong advocate of Continuing Education and of participation in professional organizations, he supports local, state, and national activities to continually pursue excellence as the art of dentistry evolves. Dr. Davies is a current member of the Capital Area Dental Foundation as a Board of Directors TDA Delegate, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, and many more. Through years of experience he now specializes in the highest quality complex reconstructive care, general, and cosmetic dentistry. Roland is married to Dr. Jenefred Davies, a professor of Teacher Education and author. They are exceedingly proud of their 3 children and their spouses, and their 8 grandchildren. Not only is Dr. Davies an avid Longhorn fan, but he also enjoys swimming, exercising, and traveling. With over 15 years in the dental field, Christina brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to our office which includes but not limited to General Dentistry, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, and Prosthodontics. Before managing offices in Texas and Maryland she was a registered dental assistant. Along with her knowledge of the dental world, she has a background in accounting. If you have any questions regarding insurance, account balances, or dental procedures in general Christina will go above and beyond to make sure you are fully aware of anything and everything you could possibly imagine. Christina is an active member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, reading, and cooking.
Michelle is a 2010 Dental Hygiene Graduate of Lamar Institute of Technology. She joined Dr. Shaw's practice in December 2017 when she moved from theHouston area toAustin. Michelle strives to treat every patient like family and goes above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable and relaxed. She has been a wonderful addition to our practice. When Michelle isn't teaching patients proper oral hygiene, she is crafting, traveling, doing something outdoors, or spending time with her family and friends.
Dru has been a dental lab technician for 20 years. Not only does he work with Dr. Shaw here in the office 3 days a week, he has an offsite lab that he owns as well. If you are looking for any removeable or fixed appliance Dru will be the one to help fabricate your prosthesis.. In his free time he enjoys fixing and riding motorcycles, loves to spend time with wife and 2 children, and cooking.
