Welcome to Shining Stars Kids Dentistry! Dr. Lawrence Musanje, Dr. Michael Holmberg, Dr. Karla Zinkann and our team love helping children to learn good oral habits and achieve healthy smiles. When you bring your child to our office, our dentists will go the extra mile to help your child feel comfortable and have a positive experience. We are here to be a resource for you in caring for your childs teeth, and we offer a full range of services to meet their needs and help you learn how to keep your childs smile healthy as they grow.
Dr. Lawrence Musanje attended dental school at Wuhan University in China and completed his PhD in dental filling materials at the University of Hong Kong. He then attended the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, from which he graduated in 2008. Dr. Musanje takes continuing education courses throughout the year to remain at the forefront of the dental field, staying up to date with cutting-edge dental technology and treatments, and implementing them in our office to benefit our patients. He has practiced in the Lakewood area for since June 2011.
As a dentist, Dr. Musanje is dedicated to establishing a cheerful and caring dental home that children enjoy visiting, and to helping all his patients overcome dental anxiety, providing comfortable dental treatments and educating our patients so that they develop excellent lifelong oral health habits. He is a strong believer that excellent oral health is the key to everyones overall health and well-being. Dr. Musanjes gentle nature and years of dental training create a welcoming environment for every patient who visits Shining Stars Kids Dentistry. He understands that each child is unique and takes the time to work with them to overcome dental anxiety and fear.
Dr. Michael Holmberg grew up in Minnesota and was drawn to Colorado during his national and international competitions in the Colorado Mountains. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in chemical engineering. After graduating, Michael worked on improving science education at CU Boulder and coached and mentored young athletes.
Naomi joined the Shining Stars Kids Dentistry family in 2017 and has been in the dental field for over 13 years. She comes in each day ready to spread cheer and smiles and keep our office fun. She loves being around the kids who visit our office their excitement, energy and personalities make being in our practice a joy.
Naomi and her husband have three children, two girls and one boy, as well as two dogs, two cats and a turtle. Outside the office, she can be found spending time with her family, curling up with a good book, camping and baking cakes to decorate.
Tori graduated from Red Rocks Community College with an associate degree in movie and video production and joined our team in March 2017. She loves the people she works with and loves working with our little friends. Tori arrives every day with a can-do attitude!
Although Jennifer has only been in the dental field for two years, she has extensive customer service experience from her work as a tax preparer and bank teller. Jennifer loves working at Shining Stars Kids Dentistry because the kids remind her of her own childhood experience in China. She was very frightened of the dentist as a child, and thus she has a desire to make all children comfortable and relaxed when they come to visit our clinic. She wants kids to see that going to the dentist can be fun too!
Jennifer has a wonderful husband, two beautiful daughters and a golden retriever named Jonas. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and playing tennis, and she is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese.
Jacky joined the Shining Stars Kids Dentistry team in January 2018 and has over four years of experience in the dental field. She brings a happy smile with her to work each day and enjoys working with kids and seeing their smiles.
Katie attended the Academy for Dental Assisting Careers in Littleton, Colorado, before joining our team in August 2017. She enjoys working with kids and helping them achieve great dental health, and she is dedicated to educating our patients and their parents about good home care to ensure lifelong beautiful smiles.
Maria completed her training as a dental assistant at Pima Community College after graduating from high school. She joined our team in December 2017. She loves working with children and brings with her a great positive energy and a determination to make the best of every day.
Tanya joined the Shining Stars Kids Dentistry family in May 2016. She loves helping children feel comfortable and less afraid of the dentist, and she brings a positive attitude to work with her each day.
Tanya is currently a student at Metropolitan State University and is working towards a bachelors degree in biochemistry in preparation for applying to dental school. She has a 9-year-old Lhasa Pekingese named Daisy, and in her spare time, she enjoys photography.
Amy graduated from the Colorado School of Dental Assisting in 2009 with her certification, and joined our team in September 2019. She adores everything about being a Shining Star at our office, and especially loves our great team and our wonderful patients and their families. Amy always stays motivated and positive, and gets along with each person in our office on a personal level. She is always looking forward to learning new things.
Amy is a mother to an amazing, fun, loving and outgoing 6-year-old daughter. They have a 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Her hobbies include fishing, hiking, camping, going on walks and visiting parks with her daughter and dog, reading, knitting, crocheting and spending quality time with family.

I've been taking my kids here since they were babies, the staff are all amazing and Dr. Lawrence is absolutely wonderful, he is gentle and has so much patience with the kids. I have had the choice recently to switch dentists for my daughter because we just moved up north, but it's worth the drive when your kids get the best care and love. I am very thankful for this dentistry.

Never Again. The dental assistants were overheard gossiping about the parents and children they were caring for. I am concerned about whether there is more time being spent gossiping than making sure the patients are properly taken care of. There are medications and sanitizing measures that need to be the focus here. (You need to clean the inside of the sunglasses too, especially... to prevent the spread of germs to the eyes) I do not feel comfortable bringing my children here again. These people are not professional At All. Gossiping, making assumptions about ppl they don't even know and casting negative energy onto other ppl. (and children?) When they should be focused on Their Job.

Wish I could rate higher this is the best dentist that I've ever experienced for my son. The whole staff is amazing! I love how great they all work with kids and how comfortable they make all procedures. They make sure my son is ok with everything they're doing.

I've been taking my kids to this office for at least 7 years. Dr. Lawrence is really incredible! His energy is always high vibed, alongside his staff in the front and the back are just as fantastic. I've been a dental assistant myself for almost a decade, so if there's anyone who could tell you who's who for knowledge and kindness, I'd like to believe it'd be someone who is also in the industry. There are pediatric dentists in the state who aren't up to par, they hide it relatively well from the patient's parents to keep business coming in, but I've witness some medical oaths being broken elsewhere, more then once. Not here, all the doctors at this office are respectful and never use methods that would later on traumatize the child. Childrens experience in dentistry paves the way for their entire life, if I were you I'd do the smart thing and take your kids here, where they'll always have an amazing experience wither it be just a simple cleaning or ops work.

The times I've been here to take my little brother he has loved it. However on the orthodontist side, it's a different story. She is very rude and I could say the outcome of my teeth were not at all what I expected. They literally pulled out 8 of my teeth and left me with so many gaps, I told dr. Karla I wasn't happy and she did absolutely nothing to make me feel better. Do not get your braces at this place!!!!

I've taken my son and daughter for 5 years now. This is the best dentist I've ever experienced. Amy, "Z", front desk are all delightful! Dr. Lawrence is just a kind soul, very gentle and puts my kids at ease.

Our son is 20 months old and the hygienist Amy and Dentist Micheal were so sweet when checking my son's teeth. Got some pointers on healthy snacks and I feel as though my son's future visits will get more exciting for him.

Wouldn't waste your time, bad business owner that won't take your frustrations into consideration. We asked to have our kids in two different rooms so our 1 year old wouldn't be freaked out when the 3 year old was getting her cleaning done. Once I voiced my concerns the owner called me understanding but then changed his mind and decided not to see my kids anymore. I'd take your business to a better dentist office.

Dr. Lawrence and his staff are the most kind, considerate and gentle people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The atmosphere is incredibly child friendly, and the front desk staff is so welcoming. The back staff know how to make sure their patients are comfortable and happy. Before finding this amazing dentistry, going to the dentist caused a lot of anxiety. These amazing people have taken all of the dread out of going to the dentist. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to take their kid here. They really know how to make you feel like a Shining Star!

I cant Thank the staff at Shining star enough. My daughter is currently in Colorado for the Sparkler softball tournament. Late Saturday night she had an issue with her braces that was causing her so much pain. I called Shining star at 8:01a this morning and was greeted pleasantly by the receptionist who was extremely sweet and understanding. She was able to get my daughter in by 9am but we opted for a later appointment due to scheduling conflict on our side. They sent all the necessary paperwork to me this morning and was able to get her in and out quickly. My daughter is back to her normal self and ready for a long 10days of softball. Thank you again Shining Star!!

My kids are 3 and 5 and both are very antsy. The Dental Assistant, Tanya, was so kind and extremely patient with both kids. My 3 year old ended up with 4 cavities! He was apprehensive about getting the fillings but Both Tanya and Dr. Jean want above and beyond to make him comfortable. We broke up the appointments and did 2 fillings at a time. We were in and out of the office within 30 minutes both times. Dr. Jean did the job efficiently and precisely. I strongly recommend this office to all parents. They will set the tone for your child's dental experiences for years to come and the experiences here have all been positive ones.

I've taken my kids here for about 7 years now. Sadly we had to move too far to make this office work anymore, but for anyone in the area wondering, they are AMAZING. My sons don't see the dentist as anything to be nervous about and they look forward to their cleanings.

We've gone to Dr. Musanje for approximately 9 years. My kids have never been afraid of going to the he dentist thanks to him and the fabulous staff! We're very lucky to have found him.
