Dr. Milad Nourahmadi is at the forefront of dentistry in the Chicagoland area. He enjoys all fields of dentistry, including cosmetic and implant procedures. His practice model has been used under his supervision at three successful dental practices, ten general ones, and specialist practitioners.Dr. Nourahmadi received his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Illinois and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Arts with honors in both philosophy and economics. This diverse knowledge base is what shapes his unique outlook. Dentistry is the field that combines the aesthetic requirements of art and the medical knowledge of science in order to create a positive impact in the lives of patients. Possessing a deep appreciation for both of these topics, Dr. Nourahmadi went on to obtain his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois and is currently licensed to practice in several states.His unique business background and passion for dentistry continually fuel his drive to help evolve current traditional dental business and office design models.
Dr. Nourahmadi is committed to spreading the message of oral health awareness and proper oral hygiene. He believes that by educating people, we can begin to prevent disease instead of simply treating and retreating it.Dr. Nourahmadi has been involved with the Northwest Community Hospital dental division, the Chicago Boys & Girls Club, and the Heartland Health Clinic. He is a member of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS), the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the California Dental Association (CDA).
Dr. Miller is a new addition to the Shining Smiles LLC family. She is passionate about all aspects of dentistry, but particularly loves cosmetic cases and improving patients confidence in their smiles. Her patients have vocalized their appreciation for her gentle touch and approachable nature. She ensures every patient is as comfortable as they can possibly be and empathizes with the common fear of the dentist. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied human nutrition. This background helps in educating patients on the correlation between their overall health and their oral health. Dr. Miller received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry, where she was an active member in the Psi Omega fraternity and was one of a select few chosen to participate in a cosmetic study club led by a renowned cosmetic dentist.
In her free time, she enjoys running, Peloton workouts, spending time with friends and, of course, her infamous puppy, Calvin. She lives for the summer months and would rather be on a boat than anywhere else!
I like to think of myself as a people person, and because of that, I have been focusing my dentistry around people. I believe that whatever energy you put out there is the energy that you will be surrounded with, and because of that belief, I like to keep things light and as fun as possible. If Im not having fun doing something, Id rather not be doing it at all, so dont be surprised if theres a lot of laughing coming from wherever I am, even on the dental chair!
Dr. Kim graduated from the University of Iowa with honors in 2005, later receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Kim and his wife recently moved back to Chicago, where they love exploring everything that Chicago has to offer. They are expecting a little one very soon.
Dr. Gee grew up in a suburb of Detroit and received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She went on to pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. During her time in dental school, she spent a lot of time volunteering to provide comprehensive dental care at the Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row in Los Angeles and was also a member of Psi Omega, Lucy Hobbs Dental Society, and the American Student Dental Association. Dr. Gee is also currently a member of the American Dental Association. Outside of her time practicing dentistry, Dr. Gee likes to cook, travel, and run. Dr. Gee is also fluent in Cantonese.
Dr Salman Javed, your Shining Smiles dentist in Wheaton, is a general dentist. He grew up in Naperville, Illinois and completed his undergraduate studies at Benedictine University, earning a Bachelors of Science. From there, he obtained a Masters of Arts in biomedical science at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, prior to graduating from Midwestern Universitys Dental School. He is also a certified Invisalign clear aligners provider.
Dr. Javeds philosophy in dentistry is fostering wonderful relationships with his patients and understanding their needs and concerns. Having built a relationship on trust and respect, he will advise them on the best possible treatment options for their dental needs.
In order to become the best practitioner that he can be, Dr. Javed continually seeks knowledge about the ever-changing field of dentistry. He is committed to taking continuing education courses and learning about the latest techniques and advancements in our field.
When he is not in the dental office, Dr. Javed enjoys spending time with his two children and wife. He enjoys traveling and admiring the art and architecture of different places. Some of his hobbies include being outdoors, drawing, listening to great music and watching good movies. Mostly, he likes to enjoy life!

I completed my first dental schooling at the University of Jordan in 2011. Striving for a more advanced education, I moved to the US and finished the advanced education general dentistry program from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I very much enjoyed my experience at this Shining Smiles location. I went in for a teeth whitening because I had an important event and wanted a brighter smile. Throughout the whole treatment the staff were very nice and made sure I was comfortable, especially the employee Jane who did the treatment. I also have never gotten more compliments on my teeth they look 10 shades brighter, they did such a wonderful job. I will definitely be returning!

The turnover of dentist over the years has resulted in a nightmare for getting an accurate assessment of services needed .. Still haven't heard back from senior management to resolve many costly issues

Very bad experience. We had an appointment today to check my 5-year-old daughter's teeth and this was her first experience in the dental clinic, so she was afraid like any child and I tried to calm her and her mother, but I was shocked when the doctor told me that she could deal with such a situation as if she was talking about a crazy person and not A scared person, but a child, not an adult, and rejecting her was a painful thing for my daughter, and we all went in despair over the lack of understanding of a doctor to accept the fear of a patient

So honestly I don't even know where to start. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE, from the front desk staff to the dental assistants and the doctors were all so down to earth, so welcoming, so helpful and considerate and patient and I can go on and on. Dr.Paulson and his assistant Michelle were AMAZING. They both went above and beyond to communicate my 5 year olds daughter's treatment plan to my husband and I, and to make her feel safe and comfortable while she had major anxiety and fear. Let me tell you a little bit of our back story- Our family dentist doesn't do cavity work on little kids only routine cleaning services. We were told her cavities were minor and easy to fix. I accidentally ran across a Facebook post in one of my Facebook groups praising and recommending Dr.Paulson who also happened to have done dental work on a 6 year old who had major anxiety as well (hint to why that got my attention.) I called and made an appointment and everything went smoothly except my daughters anxiety and her wanting a "girl" dentist as she likes to say. Dr.Paulson explained everything in detail to us and said he'd be able to fix all but one cavity without anesthetic (total of 6) she refused to go back Bc he was a "boy" lol - anyway, I figured if I could get rid of one anxiety for her by finding a female dentist, I will (even though at this point I was paying out of pocket Bc Shining smiles did not accept my insurance but I didn't care Bc Dr.Paulson and his assistant Michelle were so worth it. Decided to take her to Plainfield Pediatric Dental Care for another consultation out of pocket and made sure it was a female dentist this time. They instantly jumped to a whole new level of care. They wanted to bring in a anesthesiologist, put her to sleep and fix her minor cavities Bc of my backstory to her being anxious with my first visit with Shining Smiles (which btw was a problem only bc Dr.Paulson was a boy lol) it made no sense to me because my 5 year old laid on the chair, allowed them to check inside her mouth, was fine with me leaving the room for 8 X-Rays, and she honestly did amazing I was so proud of her. They gave me a quote of almost 6k to get her minor cavities done with the anesthesiologist alone being $2500. I went home beat Bc now I feel horrible that I have to put her through that. The next day I realized that we didn't even mention the laughing gas? I called to inquire if we can try laughing gas first Bc 1) sounds too extreme 2) feel horrible putting her through this and 3) it's 6k out of pocket! On the phone all I was put on hold and was told the dentist doesn't feel comfortable moving forward without anesthesiologist Bc of her anxiety??? What anxiety though? She showed no anxiety at her visit with you? She cooperated, did everything you asked her to and allowed you to do what you needed to do. I immediately called Shining Smiles and scheduled an appointment again and went to see Dr.Paulson. There was some crying Bc he was a boy but hey, as soon as he started working on her cavities, she relaxed and he walked her through everything he was using, what he was doing, giving her breaks anytime she raised her hand for one, and he was so so so patient and attentive. Michelle his assistant was nothing less. She talked to my daughter, in a calming voice and manner. She was honestly calming my own anxiety from all of this. After todays visit, my daughter says she wants to go back to this DOCTOR EVERY TIME and I am sooooooo happy and honestly I can't say enough. Save your money, save your time searching for dentists and GO SEE DR.PAULSON! I promise you, you will not regret it. As soon as the time comes at the end of the year, I am changing insurance companies just so we can all go to Dr.Paulson at Shining Smiles.

My son and I have been coming here for years! After being traumatized by a dentist in Florida he feels extremely comfortable here everyone makes sure he knows what's being done to him. Nicole and the staff are wonderful very friendly and they make you feel welcomed. Will definitely keep coming here.

Outstanding! I brought my son's here, who are 9 and 4 years old and we had such a wonderful experience. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. The office was very clean and up to date. When my oldest started to get anxious, they really took the time to put him at ease and make him comfortable. Which I really appreciate.The doctor was also amazing. He was very informative and personable. I'm so happy we found Shining Smiles as our new dentist.

I took my 2.5 year old son to his first dentist appointment. I was very nervous because I didn't know how he would react especially since brushing his teeth is already a struggle. When we walked into the office, the front desk was very nice and welcoming. They let us in right away. The dental hygienist and dentist were both very nice and took time to let my son adjust to the new environment. They didn't put any pressure on him and made sure his first visit was fun for him. He dentist was very friendly and answered all of my questions. Thank you Shining Smiles for making my son's first dentist visit an enjoyable one! We will be back with the entire family!

Great dentist! very friendly staff from the front desk to the assistants, the doctor was great and knew what he was doing. I have no insurance but their fees are reasonable specially if you sing up for their Smiles Card program, definitely coming back and referring more family members.

My son and husband went for a 1pm appointment only to be told it would be a 30 minute wait. Not a big deal but over 2 hours later their checkups and cleanings have still not been complete. Obviously a complete lack of regard for patients time and over scheduling of appointments. The office was dirty, hair on the floor, huge clumps of dirt and dust under the chairs, garbage on the floor next to every garbage can I saw, dirty ceiling tiles where the roof looked to have leaked and last but not least... not an air purifier in sight, only little fans. Last I knew we were still in a pandemic and this is a medical office. We have never seen the same dentist twice, seems to be a revolving door of staff. I'll give them that the dentists do seem knowledgeable and kind... but you will never be able to build a relationship with anyone. Look elsewhere for a dental provider, lots of better ones to choose from.

Thank you Shining Smiles for such a great service. Dr Joy and Dr Patel are great dentist very knowledgeable. The office is clean and they follow all precautions with Covid, I love that they text and email the registration forms before coming in, it makes me feel safer because once you get there its pretty easy to be seen. All staff is fully Vaccinated and that was great to know thank you Shining Smiles Plainfield.

My husband and kids walked in looking for a same day appointment and their front desk Dee was very helpful and kind enough to take them in same day. Their dentist and assistant were very knowledgeable and fast that they were able to get us in and out quickly. I will definitively recommend them to the rest of my family.
