Dr. Michael Agenter is a board certified orthodontist with Diplomat status in the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Agenter grew up in Anderson Township and is a graduate of Turpin High School. He earned his Bachelor degree from Northern Kentucky University and DDS degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He served as a dental officer in the United States Navy at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego and U.S. Naval Hospital Guam in the South Pacific. While in the Navy, he completed a General Practice Residency and earned the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal before his honorable discharge as a Lieutenant.
After his military service, Dr. Agenter completed a 3-year orthodontic residency at the University of Tennessee, the oldest orthodontic program in the South, earning a Master's degree and certificate of orthodontics. He is now a private practice orthodontist with offices serving Maineville, Chillicothe and Lebanon.
Dr. Agenter is involved in several professional organizations including the Christian Medical Dental Association (CMDA), the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Ohio Dental Association (ODA) and the American Board of Orthodontists (ABO). He is grateful for the opportunity to serve his community as an orthodontist and enjoys developing lifelong relationships with his staff, patients and their families. Dr. Ashley is originally from Cotter, Arkansas, the trout capital of the world.After receiving her bachelors degree from the University of Central Arkansas, she earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS degree) and masters degree in orthodontics from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Mike also received his orthodontic training at the University of Tennessee, the oldest orthodontic residency in the South. Go Vols!
In 2013, Dr. Ashley served as a dental student on a Christian Medical Dental Association mission team led by Dr. Mike to El Salvador. Our Chillicothe office manager, Karen Facemire, was also a member of the team. Who would have guessed six years later she would join the Shine Orthodontic team as an orthodontist! Congratulations on your incredible accomplishments Dr. Ashley and welcome to this wonderful new season of your life!
Dr. Ashley was engaged in Florence, Italy in 2019 and now married to the love of her life, Neel Dilip Bhana. Congratulations! Dr. Ashley has two sisters, one brother, one niece, and two nephews.In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, drinking great coffee and (thankfully, for us in Ohio) seeking new adventures!Shelikes to exercise (in part because of a confessed love for cupcakes) and volunteers on medical/dental mission teams. She is enjoying being a part of our Shine Team and furthering the mission and vision of Dr. Mike while serving the Lord through her training as an orthodontist.

If I have to pick star for this place. I would pick zero star. I feel they are liking scamming. First time, I have this terrible experience with this place. Everyone should to be watch out before signing a contract with them. If you don't want to due with a lot of issue and their terrible attitude of employees and don't care to answer questions and any responsibilities. They always are nice and friendly when free consulting but then after you signed a contract with them, you will see the true of who they are immediately !!!! I still can't believe that. Their customers service is terrible attitude. They shows no responsibilities, no care customer at all. That is not the way you guys should to work with patients.

Today my 4th child got braces on at Shine. Just like the others, Rose's experience was lovely. Everyone is so kind, thorough in explanations on what was going to happen and attentive to how Rose was feeling along the way. Smiles from the time you walk in the door, to the time you leave. Highly recommend!

They are always so friendly, from entering the doors to exiting the doors you are greeted with smiles. They make my 8 year old so comfortable which is number one to me.!From first exam to now with braces and expander everything was explained in great detail to him like an 8 year old would understand. Billing was explained and made very manageable. This is what true customer service looks like.

My name is Joel Berry and I have been a patient at Shine Orthodontics for about 3/4 years. Throughout my time there I have been able to get to know Dr. Ashley and Dr. Mike as well as their assistants. Together the doctors have created a welcoming and proficient orthodontics. Katelynn Naylor has been my primary assistant for the majority of my tenure. Miss Naylor is an ambitious, driven person, who has grown under the leadership of doctor Ashley. Katelynn is caring and easy to talk to, she enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them feel comfortable while they are in the chair. Katelynn seems to be a leader among the other assistants and is friends with everyone on the staff. She will get on you if you do not wear your retainers and/or bands, and trust me somehow she ALWAYS knows. In summary, if you or someone you know is needing braces I would passionately recommend Shine Orthodontics and their wonderful staff, especially Kate.

I was running late for an appointment due to work so I called, and the receptionist was not helpful at all. She asked if I could make it within 30 minutes, which I told her I could, then she said that they could not fit me in and I had to reschedule. That would have been fine if she wouldn't have been mumbling to the point where I could not understand her, and she was telling me dates and times separately rather than set dates with times. I told her it wouldn't work for me and she proceeded to hang up on me while I was speaking. Overall very unprofessional.

Received a couple opinions for braces on my son, this was the only place that said that braces would be at my discretion. They advised that there may be a future need, but at this time, he looked good. Appreciated that they were not just trying to get the business and gave me honest feedback. I will use them for my other kids for sure. They are clean, friendly and get you in and out fast.
