Dr. Tang is passionate about providing his patients with a friendly, fun, and affordable orthodontic journey. He graduated from the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, followed by a two-year general dentistry residency in Community Regional Medical Centers in Fresno and one-year fellowship serving an under-served population at the University of California in San Diego. He completed his orthodontic specialty program at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York.Growing up, Dr. Tang's family instilled core values of service that they apply to their daily lives. They grew up serving in local community clinics and church after-school programs. He and his younger sisters all play the piano and harp and dedicated their talents by playing music at local senior homes. During and prior to dental school, he served as a pre-dental volunteer in San Diego free clinics providing care to homeless and low-income families.
Exciting things are happening here at Shine! Dr. Abraham Tang is joining our practice and will be expanding hours, opening our reception area, and providing new services to make your orthodontic experience as convenient and pleasant as possible!
Dr. Tang is leading our practice as of Monday, February 1st as Dr. Namay moves on to a new adventure. Dr. Tang comes to us with great experience and remarkably high recommendations of both his clinical skills and character. us as we make these exciting transitions.
A Little About Dr. Tang...Dr. Tang recently moved here from San Diego. (We keep asking why he didn't bring the warm weather with him!) He graduated from the University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, followed by a two-year general dentistry residency in Community Regional Medical Centers in Fresno and one-year fellowship serving an under-served population at the University of California in San Diego. He completed his orthodontic specialty program at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York - so the cold weather isn't a complete shock for him.:)

He is excited about our vision for the practice and the impact it can have on our patients, team, and community. They even hosted their own Tang Family Harp Concert for a few years, which we're hoping to get videos of sometime! During and prior to dental school, he served as a pre-dental volunteer in San Diego free clinics providing care to homeless and low-income families.
When not at work, Dr. Tang enjoys catching up with friends and family, serving the less fortunate, and playing strategic board games that are cooperative and teamwork oriented. He loves games where all players work together toward a common goal and win together. He recently had us all laughing with a fun team-building game named Just One!
Your general dentist and Dr. Tang our orthodontist, will help identify whether you are a good candidate for orthodontics. Typically, if you have any of the following, you will benefit from treatment. (Bite refers to the way your upper and lower teeth come together.)

I have always wanted to get braces since I was in middle school. I wasn't able to get them because my parents couldn't afford them, which is ok! When I was able to finally find a place that was affordable, and worked with me on payment plans, I was ecstatic. I was/am a full-time college student, working full-time hours and Shine Ortho Studio was able to create a payment plan that was affordable for me to be able to have the smile of my dreams. Without Shine Ortho Studio, I wouldn't be able to talk to people, smile, or even eat comfortably and confidently. Not to mention, it helped my oral hygiene tremendously! My crowding prevented my hygiene to be perfect because of the hard to reach places it created. I am so grateful to have worked with the Shine Ortho Studio. Dr. Tang and many of his assistants were always amazing at explaining things in detail, and answered every question you asked while giving a visual example! Everyone at the front desk greeted you with a smile, and they remember your name! They remember who you are! It's almost like they are family now. Not almost, they are family. I will forever be grateful, and I will always remember the people that help me on this journey. So if you're wondering if this place is right for you, it is. Thank you so much Shine Ortho Studio! My daughter has recently started her journey to getting a beautiful smile and we are so happy that we chose Shine Ortho Studio! Everyone there is very welcoming and kind. New consultation for 2 of my children. Each appointment was completed a week apart. I was not disappointed at either appointment. From the time you walked in you were greeted with a smile. A huge shout out to Jill & Dr. Tang. Jill brought with her such a fun and warm energy. She made both children feel comfortable and explained everything to them (and me). Dr. Tang was amazing with the kids. He spoke directly to them and made sure they understood the process. When they didn't understand he took his time to explain it differently so that he could understand. Thank you for taking your time & having a warm & inviting atmosphere.

I love this place! They are welcoming! They tell you step by step what is happening on that day. They tell you what they are doing. I just got my braces off the other day. And the process was easy and relaxing. I have been with them for 4 years. If something is wrong they ask you all the time.

This place is awful. My daughter went for her adjustment and not once but twice they forgot to cut her wire. She called them they told her to cut it herself. Seriously how much money do I pay for this lovely service ? Stay away from them they could careless once they receive all there money .. smh....

We love to SHINE!! Kids hate to go to the dentist/ortho? Not here. They absolutely love coming here. The whole staff is welcoming and top notch and never have I not seen a smile on their faces. You're not just a patient here, they treat you like family. Keep up the awesome work all of you. Every dentist/ortho facility should be modeled after Shine Napoleon.

My son is diagnosed with some behavioral issues and I was amazed at how Dr. Tang and his assistants work so well and calmly with him. They care about his physical and mental well being and make sure he is aware of it too! I would recommend their services to anyone and everyone!
