Do you ever worry about cleanliness in dental offices? We go above and beyond for you, exceeding the American Dental Association (ADA) and OSHA recommended standards for a clean and safe practice. We have a dedicated area with state-of-the-art sterilization technology, where every instrument is wrapped, disinfected, and made ready before your visit. We also sanitize each room between patients, and we use a closed water system (rather than everyday tap water). Additionally, we perform weekly spore testing with a third party infection control center. We worry about the cleanliness of our office so youll never have to!
Dr. Mark Klopenstinecompleted his DDS degree at Indiana University School ofDentistry, where he made the Deans list, earned numerous awards, and was voted in the top of his class inpediatric dentistryby members of the IUdental schoolfaculty.Dr. Klopenstinewas also selected for a highly regarded General Practice Residency in Charlotte, NC, during which he received additional training ingeneral dentistryas well as more specific areas of dental treatment, including emergency care,dental implants,oral surgery, anddentistryfor medically compromised patients. He is certified to provideLumineersandInvisalignclear and removable braces.
He completed his DMD degree at theMedical University of Georgias College of Dental Medicine, where he graduated12thin his class. While in dental school Dr. Baura was awarded the Department of General Dentistry Faculty Achievement Award which was voted on by thesenior faculty members.
Dr. Baura was also granted theservice leadership awardgiven out by theAcademy of Dentistry International, and was a recipient of theJudson C. Hickey Scholarship. After graduating dental school Dr. Baura was accepted into the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital.During his residency Dr. Baura was trained extensively indental implants, extraction ofwisdom teeth,bone grafting, complex treatment planning, and IV sedation.
Dr. Baura's mission is to provide the best quality dental care to his patients in a loving and compassionate manner. His motivation comes from Jesus Christ and wanting to treat others, as he wants to be treated. He strives to take the time to explain diagnoses and treatments in a way that you will understand. He wants to gain your trust through competence, compassion, and commitment to care for your dental needs. Dr. Baura has been married for 7 years and has 3 children.
Dr. Baura and his wife have been foster parents for the past 3 years, and this January they were able to finally adopt their 3 year old who they brought home from the hospital at 2 days old. On his time off, Dr. Baura enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He and his wife also enjoy going to yard sales and wood working.
Dr. Elyse Maiorini grew up in Farmington, CT and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2008. After college, she spent a year performing research in childrens oral health at Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Maiorini received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2013 and went on to complete a two-year general practice residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, during which she served as chief resident in her second year. Afterwards, she spent two years in Charleston, SC as an associate caring for children and patients with special needs before deciding to return to the greater Charlotte area. Dr. Maiorini enjoys providing comprehensive dental care to all ages. She is a certified Invisalign provider and a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Ballantyne Spear study club.
When she is not taking care of patients, Dr. Maiorini loves spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, going to Orange theory, running, traveling, gardening, playing the violin, and eating Italian food.

This dental practice is so underrated. More people should know how amazing this practice is in every aspect. From the amazingly friendly and organized front desk staff with it's clean and up to date equipment to it's amazing hygienist and dentists. Especially, Dr. Baura with his kind bedside manner and great skills. He always knows how to put you at ease without judgement or stress. I'm so thankful for the work he did today. I was unbelievably nervous and embarrassed with my tooth that needed to be extracted and him and his staff couldn't have been more understanding. Thank you again!

We just moved to Rock Hill and decided to switch to a new dentist. It was a good choice. Everything went smoothly and really felt like I'd been going here all the time.

Was impressed! Dental hygienist did an excellent job. One of the best cleanings I've ever had. Made me feel fully at ease. Very professional. Dentist was very pleasant, and direct as well as to the point. He also listened and was supportive. He answered question fully. Very good experience.

My first cleaning/ visit at this location. Liked my dentist but was not impressed with the hygienist. She was very rough and continually hit my gums with cleaning tool. I went yesterday and my Mouth is still very sore . I will go again in July But will ask for a different Hygenist.

Dr. Klopenstine and Dr. Baura are both amazing dentists. They are kind, gentle and very responsive to any concerns or questions. The entire staff at Shiland Dentistry always go above and beyond to ensure we leave with smiles on our faces! I highly recommend Shiland Dentistry! Also have to give a shout out to Jamie and Destiny for taking such great care of my little ones today! WHAT AMAZING STAFF!!

Great teeth cleaning and good advise on my teeth that need crowns. I decided to do them, I'm lucky to have decent insurance, before the teeth failed, especially since we travel as much as possible. Pleasantly happy with the results of getting the temporary crowns, today.

I went in yesterday with a very infected back tooth, I was in the worst pain I've ever experienced with a tooth! I was very nervous about it! I'm terrified of the dentist office, but Dr. Baura walked in and I will admit at first I was concerned because he looked very young but the longer I talked with him I realized he really knew what he was doing! He calmed my fears and walked me through the whole process and was extremely patient with me! It's only been a day since my back tooth has been removed but I feel great! No Pain and a new friend! As I get older I need to quit stereotyping because in this case I was completely wrong! Thank y'all again for being there for me! Patrick Howell
