Dr. Shaik received her D.D.S degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the University of Colorado after graduating with a B.D.S Degree (Bachelors in Dental Science) from Indias Rajiv Gandhi University. Prior to moving with her family to the United States, Dr Shaik practiced dentistry for several years in India, where she was also running her own practice.
She maintains memberships with numerous prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), the Karnataka State Dental Council (KSDC) and the Indian Dental Association. Dr Shaik enhances her professional education by taking continuing education courses to stay up to date.
Volunteering her skills has been an aspect of Dr Shaik life for many years. She has been an active volunteer throughout her career in several different organizations and institutions, such as the American cancer Society (Campbell, CA) and childrens schools and vaccination camps in Bangalore.
At Shifa Dental, we provide non-surgical dental care treatments, laser treatment, gum graft surgery, dental crown lengthening, plastic surgery procedures, regenerative procedures, dental implants, and pocket reduction procedures.
If a patient can be cured without surgery, we will give priority to non-surgical procedures. Non-surgical procedures include scaling and root planning, tray delivery systems. In the scaling and root planning procedure, our trusted Plano periodontists will clean the root of the tooth in order to remove harmful substances, such as tartar. This careful cleaning usually eliminates the requirement for surgery. Of course, patients must continue visiting their Plano dentist to monitor the health of their teeth and roots. In tray delivery systems, patients transfer the periodontists-prescribed medications to their mouth via a customized tray. Other than these dental care methods, your periodontist may recommend using night-guards and bite-guards as part of nonsurgical treatment.
Our Plano periodontists use surgical dental care procedures to reduce the space between teeth and their gums, to prepare the gums for implants, to reproduce soft as well as hard tissues, to fill indentations, to increase the surface of teeth, and to prepare your jaw for any other surgical process.

They never called me back after my initial appt when I did reach Nelly she kept telling me that she was going to call my insurance to verify which she never did she just kept telling me lies I called for two weeks and didn't get anywhere. Don't waste your time they are double booked backed y you won't get in

Awesome Dentist, she is very helpful and knowledgeable. She is really concerned about the Dental Health of all of her patients, especially me, she has done lots of procedures. I really like this place. The staff , front desk , are willing to answer all your questions and concern.

I ended up buying a Groupon with the Garland Shifa based on the good Google reviews. I hate doing this unless I really don't have a good experience, but I do want to share. I must have had my appointment on a really bad day in June. When I arrived on time, I sat in the waiting room in my mask. There was another woman going in and out, unmasked, talking really loud on the phone, nonstop coughing and sneezing and touching handles and everything after sneezing and coughing in her hands. After about 45 minutes of waiting with the coughing person, I was asked if I wanted to reschedule my appointment. I had already waited 45 minutes and I drove 35 minutes so I said I would wait since they told me it would be just a little longer. I asked after one hour and 15 minutes if I would be seen soon, they said it would be soon. So I waited. After one hour and 50 minutes I finally was called back. I got my X-rays done. Then I waited for the dentist. I was told I had to get a procedure done before a filling, and another filling for a total of 2 cavities. It was very to the point without any extra bedside manners. They seemed nice, but maybe a long day. I just wish I would have not accepted the appointment because I requested a later date and they said they had an opening which is why I came! Then the dentist left and the assistant came back in and talked about my 4 cavities. I was confused because the doctor said I had 2. Then the dentist came back and corrected that I have 4. It was all very nonchalant. Then I was told that I was going to need to pay extra for my cleaning (Groupon says "polish" and not "cleaning") so I said just the polish- I didn't want to waste more time. The receptionist was apologetic and I was told another dentist or assistant left and did not come back that day and I came on a bad day. I was told I was going to get an email in the next week to quote the procedure I needed done. No email came. I called to ask for it. I emailed to ask for it. I never heard back. I will say that the filling quotes were very reasonable, lower cost than normal. So after more than 3 hours I finally left. I honestly kept thinking I was on a prank show. It didn't feel professional. I will never ever buy a dentist Groupon again. Also the thing that irks me the most is that when I was sitting in the waiting room, there was a sign that said "Ask us about free Starbucks cards" and the coughing lady (mentioned before) asked and the receptionist told her if she left a good Google review she would give her a free Starbucks gift card. Which reviews were for free gift cards and which ones were genuinely good reviews? Maybe I truly did go on what they said was a bad day as I'm sure some people have good experiences. I think the biggest takeaway would be to call patients ahead of time if they just can't be fit in. Time is very valuable and something that should be respected.

Dr. Shark was professional, skillful, compassionate and gentle. Getting dental work is never a pleasant process but it couldn't have been anything better than the things I've described above. Thank you to all at Shifa dental they were all good from Recepinish, manager to hygienist and of course Dr. Shifa she was wonderful. Dr, Modares the specialist was all of the above too. Overall a great job on my whole experience.

I went to shifa dental and from the minute I walked in every body treated me like a princess dr shaik is one wonderful beautiful doctor she took care of me so much she was very kind one thing I can say about it she is not out for money she out to make a difference in all her patients she is not in Harry to finish you she takes her time to make sure you are comfortable she is one in a million doctor and I will make it my mission to recommend her to everyone one in my life I am thankful I came here I also wanted to mention all her employees the are super I haven't stopped smiling since I came
