Chelsea graduated from Old Dominion with a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011. She is very passionate about continuing education and has done volunteer work in the area. She has extensive experience working with periodontal patients and those with high anxiety. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is getting to know each patient and making them feel comfortable.

Chelsea grew up in a military family but spent most of her life in Fairfax down the street from Shield Dental Care! She is excited to be closer to home and working with the local community. When she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two kids. They love being outdoors, spending time at her parents lake-house in Charlottesville and visiting family overseas!

She strives to make sure each patient feels comfortable and welcomed to the practice. Making patients feel comfortable about there dental needs and are excited to come back again is a number one priority for her. When not at the office, she enjoys spending time traveling.

Karina has worked in the dental profession for 10 years! Her passion is making sure patients feel as special and loved as possible. She enjoys spending time with her family & friends and traveling the world, since life is too short to sit and do nothing! Shes been blessed with good health, two beautiful boys, and her loving husband.

Sydney is majoring in biology at George Mason University with an intent to go to dental school after fostering a love for dentistry from a two-year dental assisting program at her high school. She is a member of two honor societies & enjoys mentoring international students, assisting a 4-H dairy club, & is creator of a student organization with a mission to read books to young children & teach them about healthy habits.

At the dental office, she finds passion in helping wherever possible, whether it be sterilizing instruments, taking your x-rays, or placing fluoride!In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, & spending time with family.

Sahar is a biology major at George Mason University. In her junior and senior year of high school she took a two-year dental careers academy course that opened her up to the dental field and all the wonderful things it has to offer! She obtained a dental x-ray certification, hands-on skills, and knowledge that led her to an internship at Shield Dental Care! She is the social media director of GMUs Afghan Student Union and has given back to the community through food drives for the homeless, blood drives, etc.

At Shield Dental Care, Sahar is the Insurance Coordinator. She verifies your insurance coverage & benefits, tracks payments, and helps the front desk whenever possible! She also takes x-rays & charts. In her free time, she loves to draw, paint, and read!

As a family-owned business, Payam and his brother, Dr. Ghorbani, want their staff and patients to experience a different kind of dentistry: a relaxing & stress-free environment. Thats why Payam and Dr. Ghorbani put thought into every detail of the office, starting with the design and ambiance.

Payam has been part of the Burke community for the past several years. He graduated from George Mason University with honors, where he received three business degrees. Since graduating, he has concentrated on all aspects of accounting, marketing, and business management of the dental practice.

Did you know the name Shield Dental Care was founded during a family night dinner? Gathered around the table, we were coming up with names, when my nephew (the 'Shields' Family) suggested his name. It dawned on us that the word 'Shield' had the perfect connotation. Who would have thought a three year old would have such an influence on our practice?!

Excellent work! I always had bad experiences with other dental clinics, until I get to Shield Dental Care. Doctor Ghorbani and his team are very professional. They are the best!. I have been there for 3 years and it is always a good experience and now my teeth look great and without problems. The office looks beautiful and 100% clean. All the equipment seem very new. Five stars and more for Shield Dental Care. I would highly recommend them.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So far I have enjoyed my experience with Shield Dental Care and Dr. Ghorbani! If you are afraid of the dentist or have anxiety associated with the dentist this is a great choice because you can watch Netflix during your exam. I usually hate the dentist but I really like and trust this office.

...Starting with the interior design and atmosphere. It is so modern and has a sense of comfort due to the small things such as essential oil diffusers. The staff is simply wonderful. They always seem to be happy and always pleasing to interact with. All that is nice but is the dentist any good? The answer is YES...Personally I like how well he explains things and very friendly. Dr Ghorbani never seems to be in a rush and always takes his time with each patient...
