Dr. Steven Collins, Jr. is passionate about staying abreast of the latest in continuing education and it shows. When you sit in Dr. Collins chair you will have no doubt that he gives 110 percent to every patient he treats and is happy to share his knowledge with you. You will receive his complete, undivided attention at your visit and when you have questions it is evident that his continuing education has paid off. He will thoroughly explain each procedure and make sure all of your questions are thoroughly answered before moving forward with any kind of procedure.
He excelled in the educational arena as a graduate of Louisiana State University and the LSU School of Dentistry and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society and Golden Key national honor society. Dr. Collins is also a member of the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Collins truly enjoys treating families. Getting to know each family member and making them understand that he truly cares about their well-being creates a sense of trust from everyone seeing the same dentist. He shares, I enjoy working closely with all of my patients to help them maintain a healthy, bright smile, and build lifelong friendships with their families.

Jackie has been a certified expanded-duty dental assistant for five years and plans to be here for many more years. She is also an instructor for Dental Careers Institute, a school started by Dr. Collins, Sr. (retired).
She shares, Its a pleasure to be part of a dental team that works well together, provides the best dental care, and treats all our patients like family. Jackie is compassionate and attentive to each patients needs and comfort while in her care.
Eileen is our administrative secretary/treatment coordinator and has been working with Sherwood Dental Care since 1991. She truly enjoys visiting with patients and working out their financial arrangements to make their needed treatment possible.
Julie is our patient care coordinator and has been working with Sherwood Dental Care since 2012. She is a certified, expanded-duty dental assistant. Juliehas worked as a dental lab technician and as an instructor for Dental Careers Institute.
Nicole is a recent dental assistant graduate! She is RDA (registered dental assistant). Her gentle, compassionate nature is comforting to our patients. She is excited to learn and grow in the career of dentistry.
Kristen has been a hygienist since 2003. Her outgoing, caring, and fun personality make it easy for patients to feel comfortable. She enjoys building personal relationships with her patients that are centered around educating and motivating them toward an optimum state of oral health.
She shares, Im so excited to be part of Sherwood Dental Care. It is gratifying for me as a hygienist to give care to my patients in a calm and caring atmosphere where their comfort and well being is the main concern.

Wonderful people. I did not have a wait time. Everyone I dealt with was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. The front desk had pulled my insurance info and knew what waa covered. Dr. Collins is very personable and explained my options. Highly recommend.

Dr. Collins is GREAT!! He's the only Dentist in Baton Rouge that knows how to properly treat a patient that has a Maryland Bridge whenever my son has had an issue with his bridge the Dr. gets him in right away a takes care of IT!!

Recently I broke a tooth. A friend of mine had used sherwood dental before and reccomended I check them out. So I called and they had me in a chair less than 2 hours after I called them. I explained to the dentist that I have a anxiety about dental work and he was completely professional in all that he did. He showed me xrays of my broken tooth and gave me options.. he said the tooth could be saved by doing a filling instead of just pulling it.. other dentists in the past would have just yanked it out.. very good job. I will use them from now on exclusively.
