John C. Shepard is a native of West Monroe, Louisiana. He graduated from West Monroe High School in 1973, Louisiana Tech University in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in zoology, LSU School of Dentistry in 1981 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He is a current active member of the American Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. Dr. Shepard was a delegate, legislative committee chairman, and speaker of the house for the Louisiana Dental Association. He also served as past president of the Northeast Dental Association. Dr. Shepard is very active in our community, serving on the board of directors of the West Monroe Boys and Girls Club, a member of the West Monroe Civitan Club, and is an active member of First Baptist Church as a Sunday school teacher. Dr. Shepard continues to attend dental seminars learning the latest techniques and using the most updated technology to better serve his patients with optimal dental care. Cosmetic and implant dentistry continue to be the most advancing areas of dentistry and he has attended many hours of Continuing Education in this area. Dr. Shepard is married to Gayle, who serves as one our hygienists, and has two sons Clinton and Grant.

Jenny graduated from West Monroe High School in 2001. She then attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2005. She has been a local practicing hygienist with Dr. Shepard for 13 years. Jenny and her husband live in Calhoun. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and doing outdoor activities. Jenny has a friendly and up beat personality and will always welcome you with a big smile. She keeps up with the most updated preventive care by attending continuing education classes throughout the year. Her main goal is to provide you with comfortable and professional dental check-ups in a family oriented environment.
LaShay currently works chairside, as lead assistant, while also doubling as our lab technician. She has worked in the dental field alongside Dr. Shepard for 5 years. LaShay graduated from West Ouachita High School in 2001; received her Bachelors degree from LA Tech University in 2007; and earned her Extended Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) Certification in 2016. She lives in West Monroe with her husband and their daughter. As a family, they enjoy traveling, playing cards and board games, and watching LSU football and gymnastics. LaShay loves spending time with family and friends and cheering on her favorite gymnast, her daughter, Kinley.
Tonia has been a part of Dr. Shepard's team for over 18 years. She helps the office with scheduling and medicaid from her home. Tonia lives in Calhoun with her husband and two boys. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends

Dr Shepard and staff are the best. Every appointment I've had, I never waited for more then five minutes at the most. Always prompt and very understanding with any issue's I had. If I left his office and incurred a problem all I had to do was make a call to his office and they scheduled me to come back in either that day or the next day. I'm very satisfied with the service I receive from Dr Shepard and his staff. I highly recommend Dr Shepard for any dental work you may need.

Love this place and I'm so terrified of dentist but they made me feel so comfortable and safe..I got 6 teeth pulled with in like 30 mins and that's with Lil bit of waiting time..can't go wrong with this place and there prices are great too..

I love the staff and Dr. Shepard does great work! I love that there isn't a long wait like some other places that I have visited in the past. I highly recommend this office.

(03-29-18) Today was my first time at Dr. Shepard's office and I was thoroughly impressed! The building was very neat and clean and located halfway down Professional Drive in West Monroe. Jennifer and Donna at the front desk were very friendly and prompt to assist me in completing my paperwork, and I was called back from the waiting room right on time as scheduled. Gail (one of the hygienists and Dr Shepard's wife) was excellent! She was very gentle and friendly and made me feel very welcome. Dr. Shepard was also equally friendly and professional! I have already scheduled my 6 month return visit because needless to say, I will be back!
