We are proud to offer several different treatments and technologies for you to achieve a straight, flawless smile in a way that works for you. We will go over all of your options in order to help you make the best decision for you and your desired results. We also know how scary and anxiety-provoking it can be to have dental work done. Since most patients are uneasy about visiting, our staff makes sure to provide every patient with a kind and caring attitude. We are here to discuss any of your concerns, and we do our best to tailor every treatment to your needs, wants, and desired outcome.
I love orthodontics because I love watching how people and their smiles transform over time. As a child, I was fascinated by LEGOs and how they could transform from a collection of blocks into something more and that fascination with transformation has continued into my adult life as I watch my patients grow and change, acquiring a renewed sense of self-confidence, a new attitude, and a deep excitement at sharing their new smiles with the world.
When not at the office, youll find me with my family. My wife, Ugti, and I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters: Arti Anna and Anjuli. To my delight, Arti Anna was elected best smile when she graduated. Im also an avid train collector (and have been interested in railroads for as long as I can remember). If Im not traveling to photograph them, Im collecting train memorabilia or building models.
I love what I do. Perhaps it sounds obvious, but its true. Orthodontics is an incredibly rewarding career. It has allowed me to express my creativity, as I craft treatment plans to meet each specific patients needs, while making a real difference in their lives. Of course, its impossible to change someone elses life without changing yours as well. My wonderful patients make me a better person every day.
I pride myself on energy, work ethic, and knowledge of biomechanics. Over the years, Ive fine-tuned our processes to make sure your experience at Shenango Valley Orthodontics is as effective and efficient as possible.
When Im not at work, youll find me spending time with my wife, Deb, and our sons, Zach and Derek. I like to spend summer days on the patio listening to music or in my garage woodshop. Winter is for snowboarding and spending time at the Peek n Peak Ski Resort. And during football season, you can always find me cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
Orthodontics is such a unique and wonderful profession. I love seeing patients undergo a transformation from covered-up, hesitant smiles to huge, confident grins. Giving kids a smile they can proudly show off is an incredible feeling. And for adults who have lived their whole lives feeling self-conscious about their teeth, it is never too late for a smile transformation! I believe that a smile is the most beautiful thing you can wear, and I love helping people achieve a smile they can feel good about.
Outside of work, I love reading, cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Chiefs, watching movies with my husband, Dan, watching my three children, Keira, Carter, and Connor, grow like little weeds, and taking long walks.
Before joining SVO in 2013, I was an Orthodontic Assistant and Clinical Supervisor for 11 years. Before that, I graduated from the dental assistant program at the Ohio School of Dental Technology 20-some years ago.
I enjoy people, so meeting and greeting patients is a natural fit for me. My duties also include marketing, scheduling, insurance billing, and financials, and I enjoy it all. I especially love being part of a team that creates so many great smiles and helps improve peoples confidence!
I was raised in Hermitage and currently live in Sharpsville. Im married to my best friend, Pete, and we have three beautiful children: Ryan, Kyle, and Rachel. They fill our hearts with pride as we enjoy their many talents in music, motocross, art, and cheering. We love to spend time together camping at the motocross track, snowmobiling, snowboarding, and on beach vacations.
I am the assistant who loves to laugh! When Im not assisting, I perform several office duties, including insurance billing. Its a pleasure working in such a positive, laid-back atmosphere with such great doctors and a team that feels like a family.
After graduation from the dental assistant program at Median School of Allied Health Careers in Pittsburgh and nearly 30 years experience in the field, I still find satisfaction in seeing those gorgeous straight smiles at the end of treatment.
When Im not at work, youll find me in Mercer with my husband, Bob. We have two awesome kids, Jake and Maddie, who were very proud of. I love dogs (a lot!) and am all about adopting from rescues. Being with family and friends is where I find peace and happiness. And my favorite hobby is scrapbooking.
Im one of Dr. Smiths orthodontic assistants. My main duties are clinical assisting, sterilization, and taking new patient x-rays, photographs, and 3D intra-oral scans. Before I became his assistant in 2007 after completing a dental assisting program at Great Lakes Institute of Technology, I was actually Dr. Smiths patient! And my experience with my own braces is what made me fall in love with orthodontics. I want to help others experience the feeling I had when I emerged with a brand new smile.
I work chair-side and also do most of the lab work here at SVO, making retainers to help our patients keep that beautiful smile for years to come. Ive been at SVO since graduating from the dental assisting program at Ross Medical Center in 2011, and I love my job and co-workers. Its a wonderful feeling waking up in the morning, walking into work with a smile, and helping patients improve their confidence with a smile theyre proud of. I believe confidence sets people up for future success.
When Im not at work, youll find me with my husband, Jody, and my two children, Ryan and Katie. Im passionate about quality time with my family and my kids sports (cheerleading, football, and wrestling).
