My work is special to me because of how many lives I can positively impact. As a dentist, I stay on the forefront of my patients oral health, which undoubtedly affects their overall health. I aide in the screening and prevention of many life-threatening health problems, including infections or oral cancer, by providing state of the art diagnostics. In addition, I am able to alleviate dental pain. All the while producing a gorgeous smile.
Dr. Culler was born and raised in Camden, SC just northeast of Columbia. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina. Upon completion of college, his path led him to our beautiful city of Charleston, where he attended The James B. Edwards MUSC College of Dental Medicine and earned his license in 2017.
While a student at MUSC, Dr. Culler worked as a research assistant and apprentice in the implant prosthodontics clinic and developed a passion for the cutting-edge skills of CAD CAM crowns and 3-D diagnostic milling.
Dr. Culler is on the forefront of dental medicine. He actively participates in various professional organizations such as the South Carolina Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. He regularly attends continuing education seminars regarding new dental research, techniques and equipment.
While we were planning out our office vibe, we chose to embody a bit of our personalities. From the soothing wall colors and warm flooring, the plants distributed throughout, and the artwork from local artists displayed on the walls.

'Today was my first time visiting after being referred by a good friend. It was such a positive experience. All the ladies and gents came around to the front desk at the beginning and end of the visit to introduce themselves. I was having crown work, so a two hour visit. Dr. Culler and his assistant immediately put me at ease. His hands are very gentle and not once did I feel any slight discomfort while he was working on the tooth. He explained each part of the procedure giving me breaks by removing the rubber mouth opener when he could see I needed a rest. Im actually looking forward to my follow up visit in two weeks to get the permanent crown. p.s. They even allow you to choose the radio station...70,s Road Trip!!'

If I could give Shem Creek Dental more than 5 stars, I would! Dr. Culler and his whole team are amazing. Dr. Culler is very knowledgeable and spends time to educate you and answer questions you have thoroughly. Angie at the front desk is very responsive about billing questions and making sure everything is in place with insurance before fillings and procedures. They even have a texting line that I have been able to text with questions which is very convenient! I have been extremely impressed with each hygienist I have had as they have taken extra time to educate and offer advice on new ways to improve my oral hygiene and protect enamel at home. The equipment Dr. Culler has at his practice is top of the line. I have been very impressed with the equipment used for my dental cleanings, many of which my previous dentist did not have. It is very apparent that Dr. Culler keeps up with the most effective practices and procedures so that he can offer his patients the best dental care possible - for both standard cleaning as well as for implants and crowns. Above all, Dr. Culler has a very kind demeanor and has made me feel very comfortable, even during more invasive dental procedures. I needed a dental implant procedure that I was very nervous for, but Dr. Culler and his assistant made me very comfortable and checked on me throughout the entire procedure. They even had music and a TV on the ceiling with all the streaming services which was a nice way to get my mind off the procedure. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dentist in the local area!

Dr. Culler and his staff are absolutely wonderful. I've been with the practice through Dr's Morris and McPherson and I have never been more confident in the level of my care. From regular cleanings to crown replacements, they are at the cutting edge of dental technology- totally looking out for my health.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Culler and his staff at Shem Creek Dental... They are so kind, and accommodating, efficient, and most importantly, skilled. I felt truly safe in Dr. Culler's care as he attended to multiple hours of dental work on me recently. Both him and his assistant were thoughtful and checked in on me regularly throughout the procedure, which made me feel at ease. I liked the modern but laid back room, dug the music choices, (which you can change too) and loved the option of watching a movie or Netflix above if you want. I was really relieved that the chair I was in had a comfortable neck support (for the hours I spent laying), and overall just liked the vibe of the office. Down to earth, easy-going yet professional, plant-filled, Charleston aesthetic. Dr. Culler is truly talented.. Oh, and it was cool seeing his state of the art teeth scanning device for my crown, and having it made there on the spot. I thought I'd have to have some sort of goo mold made to get the shape but he's got some new tech that I hadn't seen before and got a kick out of. Anyways, thanks again to all you guys at Shem Creek Dental, y'all are the best!

My daughter cracked about 25-30% off her front tooth Monday night. First thing Tuesday we called (new patient) and they saw her at 9am ! They explained the options and we decided on bonding. She had her perfect smile back very quickly and the quality was outstanding.

Very friendly. Also they go out of their way to help you. I was ther today and I need to get a tooth pulled and a implant. They gave me options of places to go and when I decided they made the call to the place and set my appointment. Great service. Also this was my first time there. Highly recommend this place!!
