Dr. Robert Shelling grew up in South Florida. After graduating from Spanish River High School, he entered the University of Florida for undergraduate studies. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Sciences and graduated with honors. After earning his bachelors degree, he entered the University of Florida College of Dentistry for dental school. Upon completion of his DMD, he focused his training on the study of orthodontics and received his Orthodontic Certificate from the New York University School of Orthodontics.
Dr. Shelling is very passionate about his work and active in his profession. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, and the Southern Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Shelling takes great pride in his work and will strive to achieve the results you desire. Since he considers his patients his family, you will always be treated with great care and a warm friendly smile. In order to provide the highest quality of care for his patients, he strongly believes in continuing his education throughout his career by regularly attending courses and reading the current literature to keep up with the latest breakthroughs in Orthodontics.

My teeth came out perfect !! Just as Dr. Shelling predicted at my initial appointment. They look and feel great. And the office environment and staff are very friendly and caring." We shopped around a lot- Dr. Shelling was our 4th and last consultation after he was recommended by a friend. He was the only ortho who's method of treatment did not include either an extraction or a palette expander. He was friendly, to the point, no over-selling, no presentations, no crowded office. Simple, to the point, and the most affordable. Almost a year into phase one for our 11 year old, we are so pleased with the results so far. It's amazing how much better his teeth are without doing any of what the other prominent orthodontists in the area recommended. 10 stars, if we could.

The best orthodontist. The staff and doctor is very nice. The place is always clean. As soon as you arrive for your appointment, you are called in. Never a long wait time. I definitely recommend Shelling Orthodontist.

Dr. Shelling's office is great! He and his staff genuinely care about their patients and give them the best possible assistance while making every appointment comfortable for the patient! I always ask for Shanae, she always makes the entire process so easy while being informative and so fun! I can honestly say whenever I go there I leave with a big smile!

My LOVE hate relationship! If you need braces, Dr. Shelling and his staff should be your FIRST choice! Professional, Clean, SUPER friendly with the right price! Not too cheap, yet affordable! A home away from home! And he is a perfectionist, so beware! This is not a Braces Mill Factory. Dr. Shelling will make your teeth straight, even if you THINK they are straight ENOUGH! Hence the Hate Part!! I love you all. My last visit is coming soon!!!

This is the place for you!! I love this place totally awesome!!!!Had my braces on for almost 5 years recommended this place to my brother he loved it amazing staff wonderful people Dr. Shelling made me feel very safe and I am scared of doctors so that's a big plus I enjoyed going to my appointments I recently got my braces off and I am satisfied with the great service!!

My Daughter just got her braces off. Her teeth are beautiful. I have to say Dr. shelling is the best orthodontist out there. He does beautiful work. My daughters teeth were horrible didn't think it was possible to fix them. Now they are just perfect. Dr. Shelling and his staff are very professional and do amazing work. We are 100% pleased. I highly recommend him. I have an older son and two nieces that used a different orthodontist and I have to say I am so glad to have found Dr. Shelling. He is the best!!!

Despite what their website advertises, Shelling Orthodontics does NOT offer convenient hours for everyone. If you have a specially needy child or medicaid, be prepared to constantly miss work and take your child out of school because they will only see your kind before 1pm. They make you sign a form stating this and will NOT ever accommodate you for any reason. First I was told that these hours were contracted with my daughter's insurance. But once I contacted the insurance company, they changed their story and stated that it was an office policy. For those of us with specially needy children, you know that they already have a ton of medical appointments which causes us to miss work and causes our children to miss school. Having an office policy to only see these type of children before 1pm is very insensitive. Obviously there are ulterior motives behind this policy and I will be switching my daughter to a different orthodontist who is more accommodating to all types of patients. Follow up: Since my posting, the office has decided to make accommodations for my child to be seen after school. Since then experience has been good.

If I could give Dr. Shelling and his staff 10 stars I would. Both children and husband are patients of his. You will never be kept waiting in his office. He will NEVER sell you on unnecessary work. Honest, trust worthy and excellent bedside manner. His staff is extremely knowledgeable and are always there to answer any questions we have. Thank you Dr. Shelling.

I would like to start by thanking Dr. Shelling and all the staff for the great work they did for me. I have been looking for an Orthodontics office that would do the work and after many years with 3 attempts and all 3 saying that they had to "break my jaw, Open the upper part of my mouth" I gave up! Until my wife took my 14 years old to get braces at Dr. Shelling's office and talked about my case, he said have him come in and I'll look at it! The rest is history....I wish I had meet Dr. Shelling year ago! But at least I did it and couldn't be happier. I also was very impress with the staff at the office everyone is always very nice and caring. I can definitely say that Dr. Shelling has changed my life! If you need any kind of orthodontics work done, I highly recommend them. As you can see the photos below says it all. Thank you Dr. Shelling!!!!
