Dr. Shelley Ann Lyle is a Versailles High School graduate. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Texas Christian University. Furthering her education, Dr. Lyle then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
Dr. Lyle has also served as a dental officer in the United States Naval Reserve. She is a volunteer for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry's Give Back a Smile program and the Southwest Rotary Club.
In her free time, she enjoys sewing, needlepoint and ballroom dancing. Dr. Lyle and her family love visiting the Lake of the Ozarks, which is where she grew up. Her daughter is a medical officer in the United States Navy.
Dr. Mary K. Davis grew up in Illinois and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology as an Honors Scholar from the University of Illinois. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics in the top twenty percent of her class.
Dr. Davis practiced in Ames, Iowa, for five years before moving to Columbia, Missouri. She has been a continuous member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry and has transferred her state and local memberships from Iowa to Missouri since her move.
Dr. Davis loves spending time with her husband, a faculty member at Mizzou, and their daughter. Together they enjoy hiking, gardening, and home projects. They are thrilled to call Columbia their new home!

I have been really impressed with the office of Doctors Lyle and Davis. Staff are all very friendly and professional. What really stood out to me is the lack of pressure to get fillings/dental work done. They encourage you to take things at your own pace and give you their best guess at what things will cost BEFORE getting anything done and without you even asking. This is rare in my experience and incredibly appreciated! Thank you to all staff at this office!

The staff is very friendly and educates you about your gums and teeth. I wasn't informed, in advance, of the indepth process for new patients. I originally scheduled a clean and check and instead got several different x-rays and a referral to an endodontist. Over two hours later, I still needed an appointment for a clean and check. Having lived in other states, I've been to several dentists over the years and this was a first time experience for me.

I've been going to Dr. Lyle's office for over 20 years. Always great service with a phenomenal staff! I love this office because it's like going to see family! And they take great care of you especially if you're anxious or nervous. Dr. Lyle and her staff are the best!

Shelly Lyle has been my dentist for a decade now, and I've not had a single cause for complaint in all that time. She keeps up with the latest technologies, and over the years the time spent getting procedures keeps shrinking, and there's little to no pain (magic needles and drills, I assume). The staff is super friendly and helpful, and I honestly never find myself dreading a visit.

My experience with Dr Lyle and her assistant and staffers has been nothing less than excellent, start to finish. I've not waited for people to ask me who I could recommend for a dentist - I tell people I've been to Dr Lyle and I urge them to make an appointment with her office for the best dental care.

I cannot overstate the high level of care and professionalism this dental practice provides. I was Dr. Lyle's patient when she first started out in Columbia, and I stayed with her until I moved away from Boone County in 2004. Now I know that as work moved me around around Missouri, I should have stayed with Dr. Lyle and her team no matter the distance. Work now has me in a place with practically no dental care, but I've gotten wise: I happily drive 90 miles one-way just to be back with Dr. Lyle and her team. Their use of technology (for example, 3D mapping and printing of crowns - in-house! - for same-day preparation and placement) coupled with genuine, un-hurried patient-centered care is, in my experience, rare, and refreshing after my 17 year journey in a desert of lesser care from other dental providers.

Dr. Lyle and her entire staff are so friendly and amazing. I always feel comfortable and welcome as soon as I walk in. They are so knowledgeable and walk me through each and every process I go through. I have recently had to get cosmetic work done; to redo prior veneers/crowns that I had. Dr. Lyle took so much time to ensure even the temporary ones looked great. I am beyond happy and grateful. I am so thankful for Dr. Lyle and her staff. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The most detailed exam that I have ever had. (And I have had ALOT of dental work done) The staff was very knowledgable, kind, and accommodating! I highly reccomend Dr. Davis and her team.

This review is long overdue as I moved away from Columbia about 4 years ago, but I also need to let everyone know how amazing Dr. Lyle and her team are at what they do. I have yet to find the same level of expertise, attention to detail, use of advanced technology, and overall care and compassion for patients that I found while being a patient at Dr. Lyle's office. I have had extensive dental work done throughout my twenties and thirties, and have also moved around quite a bit so have seen a number of dentists, but this office was the best, hands down. I find myself saying after every dental visit in my new home state, "I really miss Dr. Lyle and her team." If I could, I would fly back to MO to see them for all of my dental work. If you are in the Columbia, MO area and are not a patient here, you are really missing out. If you are new to the area and/or are needing a new dentist, this is the one; you will NOT be disappointed. And if you ever move away as I did, you will likely also find yourself saying, "I miss Dr. Lyle and her team."

Dr Lyle is, hands down, the best dentist I have ever seen. Her attention to detail is outstanding. She will do everything she can to make sure things are perfect and to your satisfaction before she is done. The office staff is equally impressive. They are always extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr Lyle and the staff!

The best experience at a dentist office in my life! They were warm, welcoming, and they were careful about masks and social distancing. I was nervous at first but they made me feel so much better afterwards and told me not to worry :)
