Dr. Elizabeth Sheldon, DDS, MSknows how important your healthcare is to you. She is a caring, dedicated provider who approaches each patients treatment with a thoughtful application of both science and art. Like many things, orthodontics is changing. New technologies and methods are emerging that make the treatment process exciting and also a little more complex. This is why Dr. Sheldon takes the time to communicate with patients and their families to ensure they understand all of the options for the best treatment possible.
Dr. Sheldons education began with a Bachelors degree in Biology at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. After working as a researcher at a biotechnology firm in Seattle, she attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and received her dental degree. Dr. Sheldon worked as a general dentist in Madison, Wisconsin before completing her specialty degree in orthodontics, also at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her experience as a general dentist allows her to communicate clearly with the patients family dentist, which creates an effective, collaborative team. Dr. Sheldon is an active member of numerous national and local dental and orthodontic societies, and she enthusiastically sponsors area school events and community projects.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Sheldon spends time with her husband, Chris McMasters, a graphics designer andsoccer coach, and her two wonderful children, Finn and Jane. Together, they explore the outdoors, work in their gardens and cheer on area sports teams.

I keep trying, and I keep having horrible experiences here. I give up. I wear trays at night in order to keep my previous orthodontic work intact and keep my teeth from moving. I've been wearing trays for years and only need to replace them after having dental work that changes my teeth or if the trays wear out (which they do every 1-2 years). Because trays need to be replaced periodically, I initially tried this practice because I was assured that the trays were 3D printed and that it would be very easy (an inexpensive) to get replacement trays when I need them. THAT WAS A LIE! When returning to this practice after my trays started to crack after just over 2 years of usage, I was told that they no longer had my digital records and that I would have to start from scratch. I would also have to pay $600 to replace the $.30 worth of plastic I was trying to replace. I was upset that I was misinformed initially but reluctantly agreed to do new scans and consult with Dr Sheldon. After the scans the earliest that I could get the consult appointment was THREE MONTHS out. I was upset again about having to wait that long, requested an alternative consult by phone, and took the available appointment just in case. After 3 months of waiting, I NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL. Dr Sheldon was obviously inconvenienced by my request for a phone consult. When the day of my in person consult arrived, I was called by the office staff, told that there had been cancellations, and that I could come in an hour earlier. I took them up on this offer. Upon arrival at the office I was ushered into a consultation room and left to wait. I waited for 40 minutes. After sitting in the room by myself for nearly an hour with no word, I eventually inquired how much longer I would have to wait. I was told there were two more customers in front of me and was given no suggestion of how much longer I would have to wait. I was told I could schedule another appointment and come back another time. After having to wait 3 months for my first in person consultation, I had had enough and I left, frustrated and upset by the discourteousness and discounting of my time. I am appalled, not only by the misleading lie about the ease and expense of acquiring replacement trays; but also by the lack of follow-up; the failure to call; the inconsiderate treatment by Dr Sheldon, her staff, and her practice; and the failure to apologize for any of the above. Avoid this practice at all costs. There are other practices on the island that will treat its customers with respect and won't waste their time and money.

Beginning with my initial visit to Sheldon Orthodontics in January, 2018 thru August, 2019, Dr. Sheldon and her staff have been nothing but professional, friendly and accommodating. I am a senior citizen who is wearing the Invisalign process. I highly recommend Sheldon Orthodontics.

Wow! That 1st review by J. White is very shocking to read. Both of my girls chose Dr. Sheldon when we went to Braces Inc. She is amazing & we are so pleased to have her. We even now drive on Island to see her, after the shift from Poulsbo office & business changes. Professional, kind, detail oriented, and a very good orthodontist. Takes the extra time to make sure braces/appliances fit comfortably as well. Have never had a negative experience with any of their staff over the past 10 years. Always very nice and helpful across the board. Truly could not have a better Orthodontist and her staff is great too.
