I enjoy developing relationships with them and learning about their varied backgrounds. I am committed to every patient having a great experience in our office as well as achieving a beautiful, comfortable, and healthy smile.
I am very active in continuing my education through orthodontic and dental meetings and dental study groups. I take more than 80 hours of continuing education each year, five times the annual requirements so that I can provide the most up-to-date clinical methods to my patients. I have also had special training in the area of TMJ disorders, and am one of the top 50 Invisalign providers in the country.

I reside in the metro area of Washington, DC with my wife, Tracy, our sons, Jason and Kevin, and a dog named Sibley. I love to play with my kids and participate in their various activities. I also play tennis and golf, go skiing and cycling, and enjoy model trains and movies. And, when nothing else is going on, you'll probably find me tinkering with or fixing something around the house.

I was born in Washington, D.C.and raised in Prince George's County,Maryland. I currently attend UMGC and major in Accounting. When I'm not in the office doing what I love, I'm at home spending time with my husband, our three amazing children and fur baby, Skyy. I also enjoy cooking and singing... As for singing, I'll stick to my day job!

I work with patients on an individual basis, helping them feel comfortable and providing gentle treatment. I've been working here for more than 13 years, and have worked in the dental field for more than 20 years! I love providing patients with quality treatments that improve their bite and their smile.
I love the one-on-one interaction with patients and providing them with gentle care to help them feel at ease during treatment. Mine is a most rewarding job and I enjoy watching the changes that take place in the straightening of a smile, as well as seeing the patients change as they become more confident with that new smile.
As I am originally from Honduras, I am fluent in Spanish. When I am away from the office I spend as much time with my family as I can. I also love catching up on my favorite TV shows, and am an avid reader. Outside of the office, I love playing soccer and do as much traveling as possible.

Absolutely adore Shefferman. I went there as an adult to deal with my underbite and he worked with my medical team throughout the process. Made the whole experience great. I recommend him to anyone considering braces and will likely take my own kids to him. His office is also convenient to get to downtown, almost always some street parking in the area.

My teeth had gotten crooked after having braces as a kid. Dr. Shefferman took me through the invisalign process and the changes that he makes that improved on the basic invisalign experience. The process was much faster than braces and much less intrusive. No pain at all. I even had a retainer made for my lower set of teeth and he made an adjustment to make them straighter without having to do a full set of invisalign for them. Oh and there is an awesome train that goes around the office. Choo Choo! I'm already getting compliments on my teeth as friends who are now considering the same treatment.

I had an outstanding experience as an adult getting my teeth adjusted and have been so pleased with my new smile. And recently I got an implant and had the pleasure of returning to Dr. Shefferman and his team. I was again treated with the same warmth and professionalism as before. This time I needed a new retainer because of a new implant. They got me in immediately and were so careful about the fitting. The visits are so much fun I wish I could stop by every month as when I was in treatment. The care is first rate! The office is super friendly and supportive, a wonderful experience in every way.

What a wonderful experience! I was visiting family in DC, and my 10-year old daughter lost a tooth, but it was stuck on the wire in her braces. I found Dr. Shefferman's office online., They saw us same day, on a holiday, when they weren't officially seeing patients- even though she wasn't a patient of his. He and his staff were so kind to my very worried daughter and did an excellent job. I cannot recommend highly enough!

The people working here are so kind and competent! We are not patients of Shefferman Orthodontics, but found ourselves in situation with a wire from my daughter's braces cutting her cheek and our regular practice closed. I did a Google search, found Shefferman's, called, and the woman I spoke with was kind and helpful. They agreed to see us that same morning, and when we got there, my daughter got the best service! She felt very comfortable in their presence.They took the time to make sure both sides of her mouth were comfortable. Dr. Shefferman himself chatted with us and gave us some great tips on how to handle similar issues in the future. Very grateful for all they did for us today and their willingness to help us out in our time of need. Would not hesitate to recommend!

Amazing office staff!! We are not patients and were traveling. My son forgot his rubber bands. They welcomed us into the office and helped him find the right size would not accept any money. They were so helpful and kind. If they do this for an out of town non-patient, I can only imagine how great they would be for patients. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great orthodontist office!!
