Dr. Hayes started her dental career as a dental assistant while attending high school in Chico, California. After completing her Registered Dental Assisting program (RDA), she went on to attain her Registered Dental Hygiene degree (RDH). After 10 years of practicing as a Dental Hygienist, Dr. Hayes decided to go back to school and was accepted to the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, in Mesa, Arizona. In 2007, she graduated as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), with multiple awards and honors for her clinical work. She also received a Certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina. She completed 3 years of working in the public health sector and moved on to the private sector in May, 2010. You may not be able to tell by looking at her, but Dr. Hayes has been working in dentistry for over 30 years!

Dr. Shauna Hayes, her husband Kyle and their son (pictured left) moved to the area specifically to purchase a dental practice and to make Arroyo Grande their permanent home. Being California natives (both born and raised in Chico, California) it was an easy decision to make the Central Coast the place to settle down and raise their family

Dr. Hayes graduated from a private Dental School that had all the 'bells and whistles.' State of the art facilities, digital X-Rays, and all the newest technology available. Although Dr. Hayes has mastered many of the newer dental technologies, she has never forgot her 'dental roots' (no pun intended) and that technology will never replace a gentle, compassionate and caring provider.

Dr. Hayes is licensed by the Dental Board of California and is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, California Dental Association and the Central Coast Dental Society.

Dr. Hayes has handpicked each and every member of her staff and has created a team that is friendly, upbeat, professional and most of all compassionate towards our patients. All back office assistants and hygienists are registered and licensed with the state of California and uphold the highest industry standards for providing a safe and clean office for your comfort and health.

It's been a long time since I've been in there. But I think about everyone there often since I moved. It was the best dental experience I have had. I always felt at home in your office. Good people and good care. I sure miss y'all Loesha xoxo

They made me an appointment for a cleaning and when I showed up they told me I wasn't scheduled. Then the woman told me that they never scheduled during that time and that they aren't accepting new patients. I thought this was very strange since a woman who sounded very much like her made the appointment with me on the phone. So they did make me another appointment and I told them at the further to be late morning or afternoon so they gave me an 11 a.m. Then what sounded like the same woman called me and said I need to change your appointment to 10 a.m. which for me is a difficult time to make an appointment but I said okay. As it turned out I couldn't make it because I can't make most appointments at 10 a.m. for personal reasons and I never scheduled them before 11am. So I can't tell you if they're any good or not because I found a better dentist probably the best dental experience I've ever had, so overall I guess it's good that they have some issues with their front office staff and scheduling.

I have been very impressed by Dr. Hayes and her staff. Yes, it was about 1 month before she could see me as a new patient but it was was worth the wait (I cannot believe I am saying that about a dentist). She and her assistants are the most THOROUGH 1st visit examiners I have ever experienced. They thoroughly checked and documented each tooth, did x-rays, went over my dental history, were personable, very professional, and told me what was going on each step of the way (I am sure that is very comforting to those that have a fear of the dentist). About a month after my initial visit I bit on something that caused me to have pain on 1 tooth and I called her office to get an appointment and she was able to schedule me to see Dr. Hayes 2 days later. I was worried that she would not be able to see me quickly since I had to wait so long for my initial visit, but I have realized from my experience and appreciate that she gives priority to current patients and then adds new patients when she can. I would highly recommend Dr. Hayes to be your dentist.

Tried to get in with Shauna D Hayes because she accepted my insurance. Office staff said call back next month because we aren't making appointments further out then we have them. Well I tried this run around 3 times for 3+ months and it dawned on me that they were not going to make any effort to get me and my family into their office. The 3rd time she was quite snippy said sorry and practically hung up on me! If your office is not accepting new patients that's fine but be up front about it, don't string people along and don't be rude in the process. I'm so glad now that I couldn't get in because in the future I would not like to be treated this way. I feel that your office is very pretentious, uppity, snotty, and unclear.
